I'm still amazed how, even 17 years later, they're still keeping the direction of the OST just totally true to the original trilogy, at least judging by the trailer lol. Even down to the choir sound font, it's just so good.....
Right? I am absolutely loving the entire alien, serene, ruins-feeling, mysterious, adventurous, slight unease feeling from the Prime Trilogy OSTs. I've actually used some of this music to fall asleep while pretending I'm exploring an alien planet. By far one of my favorite set of games and OSTs.
Yeah, I don’t know obviously but, as happy I was just to know Metroid Prime was returning I wonder if it would have felt really different if they’d stuck with the Bandai Namco version that was originally planned. They may have gone a different direction with the music too. So glad Retro ended up doing it and staying so faithful to the style of the earlier games although I’m excited to see where they have pushed things forward too
It's not a soundfont, the Prime choir comes from E-MU hardware romplers which are digital sample based synthesizers from the 90s which sure is simple but it's not soundfont in the way gamers understand the word.
This is absolutely GORGEOUS, I'm in complete awe! Not only is this super reminiscent of what the game's soundrack is likely to sound like, but you did it in such little time! You truly deserve much more recognition for what you do, keep it up!
I have a feeling this is going to be the Tallon Overworld or Phendrana Drifits of this game. It will be the perfect area with the music and atmosphere.

You’ve managed to describe what I was missing in the original soundtrack of Metroid Prime 2 compared to that of 1. Because I like the one in 2 but I prefer the one in 1 without knowing why. And now I have the answer. I missed the warm female hearts and "organic" sound effects that were less present in the Metroid Prime 2 soundtrack. In fact, you did very well since you managed to create with this title the missing link between the music of MP1 and the music of MP2, congratulations to you, wonderful work. 😄
This sounds great but I actually think that female choral piece at the very end at "2025" against black screen is actually a riff on the Metroid Prime motif; most prominently remembered as the Echoes title theme. Listen closely and you'll know what I mean.
I always wished Metroid would revisit Tallon IV but after the destruction Phazon caused. After it's influence no longer existed on the planet, the planet flourishing with life again.
I really hope the rumours of this game having a time travel mechanic are true. It would make for some really cool worldbuilding stuff if they used it on one of the old planets from Samus' adventures.
