riiiight right, well... "the already good is much better" is NOW.. MUCH MUCH better! I just ordered the TS101 WITH... PD3.1! (PD 3.1 meaning... You can run it for 90 watt @ 28v versus the 24v barrel in cap) 🤤😌
@@TechCornerTV Im hoping it IS so! Doing the amps, watts,volts, calculations on rapid tables seems to pull up... 65 watts @ 24v would be 2.70833333 amps and @ 90 watts 28v 3.21428571 amps. So that SEEMS believable to me 1/2 amp more'ish. The real sourcery to ME, is that the PD 3.1 CABLE is rated to 240 watts!? @ 28v thats 8.57142857 amps!!! I have not seen a PD3.1 cord yet, but seems pretty sketchy lol Only the one place that i found them for sale and i cant find ANY reviews up for it on the tube here, id imagine... it would get quite a few views though! I run 28v pd with 140w type c cable and anker 737 power bank 140w type c output 28v 5A - just got it to work - 0 - 300celcius in like 3 or 4 seconds lol

I always thought it was me(struggling to get a decent solder), turns out nnnno not so much, i had a crappy tool all along the difference is night and day using this unit, in any power config really! You do know it has a "turbo" button right? If you get into a big solder joint, you can hit it and get a boost right away, makes it flow so so nice!
Btw DC Jack 9-24V, up to 65W while USB-C (PD3.0) 9V-20V, maximum 45W so you have to keep that in mind. It's true that you are using a 65w power supply but it would draw only 45W which is not enough in my opinion. I'm still using TS100 and i was hoping that you could make a compression if change it worth it
Hi, with the last firmware update, you can go up 90W... that is pretty respectable even for a 220V soldering iron. So, it might worth the change.. as always, depends on your needs. Thanks for watching!

I bought the TS101a few days ago. In Australia with discount, I paid AU$78 delivered. Can't complain about that. What did cost me plenty though was a genuine Miniware (Uy Chan) D24 chisel tip which cost almost half the price of the iron. Any other tips I will be buying knock offs for sure.

I have some orgininal ones but also for around 40€ or so, a "compatible" set with like 8 tips or so, there are tips that I use ocasionally and for one or other time, it will be enough for me. Hello! Sorry for late reply, house move and vacations. I get what you're saying, but having a USB powered system also comes with beneficts, less footprint, flexible cable (easier to work), if the USB power supply dies, just replace it... it's a tradeoff. Thanks for sharing and watching!
@leech In short yes, the price is very accessible to such a good tool. The way it melts the tin so fast and with such a fast recovery, will help a lot people that are not YET used to solder. Thats one of the main problems with people starting, they buy a cheap solder iron ($10 to $20). It will make your live harder, because it will not reach the desired temperatures, it will be slow to recover and so on. If you can use the DC barrel for 65W, it will be more than good. And the tips are accessible. You have on Aliexpress 11 tips for $50... amazing! Thanks for watching 👍

Hi, sorry the late reply, trying to keep up with the comments, not easy. I didn't have it at the time of this recording, it arrive later. You probably saw my recent videos on soldering irons. Now I even have an adapter and I can connect it directly to my Rigol power supply and use the 90W (I still need to do the firmware upgrade). Yes, that was the main problem. At the time of the recording, using USB you can only go up to 45W, 66W was using the DC barrel. I hope that I clarified your doubts. Thanks for watching.

I like the form factor of the HS-01 and it is made of aluminium with covet, but not sure how does it compare to the TS-101 when in comes to performance..
Hi, I liked very much of the HS-01, is very complete and a fair price. TS-101 is a more refined tool, with the latest update you will be able to have 90W on it, that a very nice power to have on soldering iron. Other than that, has more functions in the firmware, several preset's etc., but is a bit more expensive, so as I normally say, you pay what you get, so more features means, more money. Ansering your question, personally the TS-101 is what I use whenever I'm not using my Axium soldering station. Thanks for watching.

I like Miniware very much, is very well refined and they have very nice products, but it is more or less the same in terms of performance. All this is useless if the tip is crap. So... how good is the tip? Hos does it compare with, say, the tip of a normal non temperature controlled, 60€ JBC solder iron? Beacause my cheap JBC solder iron is 15 years old, and the tip is still ok...
Hi, the tip seems to be good, but we have the advantage that we can change it whenever we want. My old JBC 60W, still is a good iron, but with only one general tip. To be honest, this is one of my favorites I ordered a 2M usb cable to be able to use it with more working area. Thanks for watching!
i just got mind an i can tell you i am not impress with this version don't know if mind is a lemon but don't start up quick as my old ts100 i takes forever to reach desire temp It Does reach temp at one point but very slow compare it with my cheap pinecil v2 or the sequre S1012 pro

If you use a pd3.1 usb c charger, it goes up to 28v which allows it to operate at 90w.
