Nice to see all those finishes (& your work on your big pieces for this year). Growing up we had a crazy cat like Fox - they keep you laughing! Love seeing all those finishes, and the wall of Eve & Adam.

Thanks for doing these videos! Not only are they incredibly motivating, I love seeing your relationship and your shared love for your craft! Unfortunately I couldn't participate due to shattering my elbow that Friday - not so fun. But I'm back to stitching a bit at a time. Thanks for sharing your stitching and be well!

Oh Wow! I want to make MaryBeale’s Adventure calendar, too. I have linen and NPIS that I kitted a few years ago. Mom you are so inspiring. Both of you are really inspiring to watch all your needlework.

Such great finishes!! You could finish those minis in the little embroidery hoops from Hobby Lobby & make them into zipper pulls!! So adorable 💛

Cindy I don’t care for silk either. You have to secure the threads a ton because it’s so slippery!!! I’ll never choose to use silks 😂
Love those cats on the Berry bowls Jen 😊. LIFE AFTER DEATH IS INCREDIBLE!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Awesome video ladies! The Death Head Moth looks great on the dark blue fabric. Silks are nice to stitch with, but I will stitch with my cottons.

You touched on my current pet peeve-hard to read symbols on charts! I recently stitched a project that only had six colors but two of the symbols were almost identical. Of course, I made errors and it was super frustrating. Wish designers would think this out more carefully! Anyway, I enjoy watching you and your mom and love seeing all your projects.

Thank you so much for a great video! 🙂 My suggestion for the old hand drawn charts with the symbols that are driving you buggy would be to send them to McKenna at 1884 Stitchery to see if she can help with them. She is really good at updating those old charts! My first cross stitch project was an old hand drawn Teresa Wentzler chart with lots of blends and quarter stitches and back stitch- ooolala still amazed I made it through that one lol

I don't know if I'm more jealous of all your finished projects or that your mom will do all those finishes. Especially the needlebooks! I might even have a needlebook at this point if I had her help :) !

Why is it on charts with similar symbols, the symbols always end up next to each other in the pattern? I've mixed up colors on occasion. But its the small charts that really drive me bananas...the designer might choose 0 and o...couldn't one of those for the love of be a J or F or something? On a large max size full coverage i think its more reasonable, but 10 or less colors, absolutely not. Anything under 26 colors should have distinct symbols between 52 letters (caps vs lowercase), 10 numbers and standard symbols like $@%&= to pick from.
As for back stitch directions, I love designers who use colors or different types of lines. I'm less pleased with directions like use color A for the gold, B for the purple and the gold & purple are all next to each other. And again for the love of, make the back stitch line heavier than the 10x10 grid lines...I hate trying to guess if its a grid line or back stitch line.
I know this comment is super late, but we need finishing stories from Jen exasperating her mom while trying to learn to finish. Finishing is an entirely different skill set. Personally i think pillows are the easiest thing to make lol. Flat finishes are a lot of patience required waiting for glue to dry.
