The construction has taken three decades to complete. Previously, Ravi river's water flow into Pakistan caused water-wastage. However, critics in Pakistan have cried foul play. @@SureshKumar-gh8vi Yup check the volume of water that goes to Pakistan. As per treaty, over 80-90% water get alloted to pakistan and China doesn't allow any water treaty with Countries in lower side of river. It is better to cancel the treaty.

@@zitka123Do go through with Indus water treaty you'll know India still didn't use his share of water( Indus water treaty is bilateral agreement for sharing water of 6 rivers of Indus water system. And 3 uper river is wholly for Pak and 3 lover flowing river comes under India. ( Uper river have total 80% water quality of whole indus water system) The treaty is already favouring Pak where it's not the case in other countries the countries which have origin or most river flows from their territories gets more advantage. India is already fighting for this in the international courts as this treaty is given too much unexplainable advantage to Pak. Still till date it's called one of the most successful treaties of the world.

@@pranamks5104 With brahmaputra it's more about sharing hydrological data sharing. China can't stop the flow of brahmaputra because the terrain of the Tibet the north of Arunachal Pradesh. The brahmaputra naturally benefits Arunachal Pradesh that's why China want that land so badly. Sharing uninterrupted hydrological data is only thing we need from China to take precautionary measures in case of flood. It's important for both the India and Bangladesh.
80% water Brahmputra is collected in India. 20%flows from Tibet to India. China technically stop the flow of Brahmputra water due mountainous terrains. There are no plains to utilize water. It will bring floods if China try to stop tge water. China can build hydroelectric dams and stop it the water temporarily

The Indus Water Treaty was signed in 1960 between India and Pakistan that allowed India an exclusive right over waters of the Ravi, Sutlej, and Beas rivers whereas Pakistan got full access to the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab rivers

As of now Pakistan has around 900 cmpp water availability down from 5000 due to less regard for resources and environment, even when they're facing floods.
Management of water is extremely bad, India won't be building dams for them, it's their responsibility to check spending into these things instead of making army and warfare

China controlling flow of water is something we can (directly) do little about but we can and should guard ourselves against the intentional floods.

Don’t need experts, I’m a layman and have been saying this for the 35 years.
The reason is simple, uncontrolled population growth in both countries is putting pressure on finite natural resources, which has lead to inflation, but will eventually create hyperinflation leading to social unrest, resulting in the blame game and eventually conflict!
