    Similar experience with Harrods. I purchased some Jimmy Choo heels and only wore them on carpet in my house and they refused to issue me a return because they were worn. I couldn’t believe the horrific customer service.
    Thank you for sharing your experience. I will not be shopping at Matches!

      I’ve heard so many Harrods horror stories! You need to be firm and not take no for an answer!

    I have spent thousands on designer shoes but quality realize that I’m better off with contemporary brands that are well made. I sold all my designer shoes. It’s a name and
    not with quality.

    I'm sorry to hear that. Thank you for sharing your experience! I will never buy from them, I have always been hesitant buying from them. I cannot imagine living in Australia and having to deal with all these issues. It would be time consuming and expensive to do returns. On the subject of boots, have you ever tried Aquatalia? I absolutely love my boots. I purchased them in 2014 and I wear them every winter (except during the 2020 lockdown). They are still in great condition, and I have only had the soles repaired once. The cobbler even said he has not seen such great quality in a while. They were expensive, but absolutely worth every penny.

      I don’t know Aquatalia but the fact that the cobbler commented on the quality I’ll try and find them in Europe. Do you know anything about how they sew their boots? Blake stitch or good year welted?

    Sorry to hear your experience.It is certainly frustrating especially since you are such a conscious customer. At least we are now all aware about the poor customer service that Matches gives. Gives us an update with a future video.

    I’m Sorry to hear about unprofessional experience you suffered at the hands of Matches Fashion. I’m afraid they are not the only retailer lacking respect for their customers. Unfortunately customer service has declined severely in the last few years (speaking as an American) It seems that these companies are apathetic and have lost their mission to please their customers.

    Now even worse, can not return anything bought before March 8. They are put into administration.

    Hi! It's really rubbish that matches hasn't acted as they should and I'm sorry this has made you so angry. A special purchase is supposed to be just that. If you've paid with a credit card (in full or in part) I would suggest taking the matter up as a Section 75 claim with your card provider. Its not guaranteed and might not be quick but it's a free service. I hope this helps!

    I’m sorry to hear of your experience with MatchesFashion and that they wouldn’t rectify this. I realize they’re now closing, but I’ve been shopping menswear there for years and since my experience with similar issues was good I wonder whether the inconsistency may also be because I’ve been a level 4 loyalty member. Not sure if you were when this occurred, but it’d be a shame if that made any difference because all customers deserve reasonable service.

    Any update? Have just had my own struggles with their useless customer service. Sent me a used damaged YSL bag after I paid 1550 euro plus shipping expecting a brand new flawless bag. Then they don't give the customs invoices required for a return to the UK which causes more problems. Warning everyone I know to avoid purchasing anything from them. They are truly awful.

    Mike Ashley now owing matches isn’t going to improve things. Crocket and Jones are higher quality at a better price point ( church’s old one )

    Sounds like you are the beneficiary of retail policies meant to protect retailers from unsavory practices. You have to act within the return/dispute window otherwise chances of an ideal resolution are slim to none.

    Speak to you credit card issuer and do a chargeback, this is insane, Church's at least should replace them and then deal with Matches Fashion.
