I used to take issue with Batman not killing his most dangerous rogues, but then I realized, it's not up to him to be the executioner. Heroes capture the villains, it's the justice system that fails to save people by not sentencing the irredeemable villains to death.
To be fair, the justice system has plenty of people screaming that they're evil for doing that in the places they do, and there's plenty of places people flat-out don't allow it.
I mean... its also the people of Gotham fault for not recognizing that this shit isn't working and just killing guys like the joker themselves. How were the metropolis and coast city destroyed? Because Clark tried to bring back a city or two, I don't really remember how many, without the brainpower of Brainiac. The safest and most effective way to save the other cities is to make Brainiac release them, who knows how long it would take for cyborg to get the ship to work for Clark. I doubt it's pleasant to be inside the ship's data plus there's a chance that Brainiac could restore the data of metropolis and coast city because I doubt he wouldn't have some kind of back up system that they don't know of from the fact that they don't have an idea how the ship works unlike Brainiac for obvious reasons

The thing is, Batman is right all along. Batman's beliefs are that a hero's duty is to protect people and for that, to capture criminals, however it doesn't mean that it's a hero's right to judge them. Because if he did he wouldn't be better than those he arrests, for he would be deciding who gets the right to live and who doesn't. Ultimately, he hands the right to judge to the people he protects and that's what distinguishes him from a tyrant. And that's why he attacks Superman. Nope. In the game too, gold kryptonite can depower them permanently. They just need enough exposure. Which is why Batman only sliced Clark, and didn't full on stab him.

He did win the argument. Superman just didn't smell what he was cooking.
He already won the arguement. But he realised Superman was getting aggressive and could attack him at any time which is why he attacked first.
The thing is, Batman is right all along.
Batman's beliefs are that a hero's duty is to protect people and for that, to capture criminals, however it doesn't mean that it's a hero's right to judge them. Because if he did he wouldn't be better than those he arrests, for he would be deciding who gets the right to live and who doesn't.
Ultimately, he hands the right to judge to the people he protects and that's what distinguishes him from a tyrant.
And that's why he attacks Superman. Becaise to his eyes, Superman has become a criminal.

Raa's Al Gul organised that whole night and organised the encounter with Joker...but didn't account for Joker's out of control personality! So Jason Todd was NOT the reason for Red Hood. Raas Al Gul was....he even admits to it in Under The Red Hood.
Batman isn't an executioner he is a vigilante! Yes....vigilantes are illegal, that's why he needs to be extra careful in the way he conducts himself to protect the people of Gotham City. Same goes for SuperMan and the rest of the Justice League.
