  • Legendary guitarists like Andy Timmons need access to lots of tones, and that's precisely what his signature Ibanez ATZ100 provides. Benefiting from extreme stability and playability, courtesy of an S-Tech Wood roasted maple neck and fingerboard, the ATZ's back shape ensures maximum playing comfort. Nick Jennison takes a closer look at the ATZ100's top-shelf feature set.

    Man, I wish Ibanez would just re-release the white and the antique violinburst Andy Timmons models.

    the dp187 is such a great pickup works well in all combos of the 5 traditional strat pickup positions with a fat warm tone with some of that single coil chimey top end to spare.

    Great demo! Really enjoying some of the more melodic stuff going on at several points in this video, IMO, more about _touch_ and tone than Nick's undeniable chops. (But the chops *is* good, too!) Even besides my longtime Andy Timmons interest, I definitely hope to get to try one of these some day.

    Just goes to prove that only Andy can sound like Andy... god-tier tone.

    If I'm not mistaken, the back of the neck would show evidence of routing if this was a 1-peice neck.
    Gotta get that truss rod in there somehow.👍

    Fantastic demo! Found you as a Timmons fan.....but now I'm a fan of the demo, too! Well Done. Thank You, Nick.

    Great demo, as always. Nick is not only a great player, but very thorough in is demos, showing you what an ax can do and how it's thrown together. I'm a big fan of both Timmons Ibanez models. I think the 3 DiMarzio Cruisers really give this guitar a different tone than the original ATZ10P. One is not better than the other, just a different emphasis.

    This guitar is amazing even if you are not an huge Andy Timmons fan.I only listened to 3-4 AT songs but i tried one of his AT100cl signature models in a music store. The neck is amazing, the feel of guitar is super B, quality is top notch, the sound ranging from warm sound to the classic "twangy" Strat/Hendrix sound. Its an truly versatile guitat for many different genres especially good for Eric Johnsons stuff, fusion, Arena/melodic rock. Its truly like a modernized Stratocaster. I will probably sell my RG550 and my Fender Strat Professional 2 and buy this one.

    Are all three of the Cruisers "bridge" pickups (voiced for bridge)? I'm probably crazy, but I think I learned from some long-forgotten source that they were. Thank you for your great overview/review.

      @WailingRaven 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not on the ATZ100, no. ATZ100 uses the bridge version of the Cruiser for the bridge pickup, while the Middle and Neck pickups uses the Neck version. But you're correct, when it comes to the ATZ10P and AT100CL, because they do use the Bridge version of the Cruisers on both the Middle and Neck position. Most likely due to the full size humbucker being of higher output. (This most likely applies to the previous models as well, like the discontinued AT10P, AT10RP, and AT300. The AT200, however used Ibanez's proprietary pickups. You can find the info of these on Ibanez's Wikia page)
      The pickup information comes from Hoshino Gakki's Ibanez Parts catalog, I can't link it here, because YT would just not let the comment through, though you can just search Hoshino Gakki Parts and they'll be a link that is called Ibanez Parts catalog and you can get info on Ibanez guitar parts, up to certain years. I don't think you can get parts number for the older, classic/vintage stuffs, and some of the post 2010s stuffs are also missing.
      Hope this helps. 😁

    Ibanez site shows this as having the most narrow nut they offer. How is it for chording with hammer and pull offs? I'm concerned because I begged a shopped to get one in having never played one.

    Any chance you guys have a video for the ATZ10P in the works? Trying to decide between this one, and the new premium variant.

    Are these a set of bridge, neck, neck, model Cruisers? And are they wired to 250k or 500k pots?

      @rub800 is this new setup neck model on the Neck and Middle, and a bridge model the Bridge? Also he had the original HSS setup wires to 500k pots, is this new SSS configuration wired to 500 or 250k?
