Did you use a strip of 5050 SMD leds for this and leave them all together? Did you place the perspex sheets level with each led and not cut the led strips at all? Was this made with on LED RGB strip? Thanks!
Nice project man... But instead of a microphone can we use an aux cable connection... Just to make it react precisely.... If we can do it then please post the schematics for the project and the code that has to be changed to make it work..
Hey Moza... i have an update coming for the mono vu meter, which in turn will be for stereo version too.., i think the update puts the final touches to it. i wont let any more out, but we have worked hard for version 1, and version 2 is almost complete. Now im looking at building one of these towers., As i think the new update will work very well with one. And believe it or not out of all the vu meters i have done, i only own one and its hardly a master piece. ok.., im in process of ordering the parts. i have the steel threaded rods with parts needed. im looking at using ws2812b 60 leds a metre, or if need be ws2812b pixels. Now im looking at the acylic plates. i see there are 50 of them, 100mm x 80mm x 8mm The link you gave is Poland ? could you give me a rough idea of total cost of the acrylic ? also quality of the cut ? and did you get them to drill the holes ? any other info would be a great help.., obviously once built i will share and give the needed credits :)
Hey, Yes, link is to Polish company, they had reasonable prices and good quality, but not any more, prices are much higher now. About €3 per piece (with holes etc. 0not laser cuted, with matt edges) plus about €20-25 for courier. You can ask for the price: info@sklep-artcop.eu. I could't find any good place for new order and i builded my own CNC router for cuting acrylic sheets. It's slow, but more cheaper. I making new tower from 5mm tiles and 3D printed parts.

Some of the prices I have been quoted online just amazed me. £300 for 50 pieces 100x80×8.. just madness. I don't mind spending the money if the quality is right. I was looking at using the 3d printer for some of the parts. It is used for the vu meter update ;).. wont say anymore.. but would use it for supporting the leds to the back of the acrylic. Ok.. well I will carry on looking and see what I can find.
@@moza2397 The update is more in the way of control. Version 2 does have 3 unseen vu meters and is still work in progress.. but with the very nice builds like yours it will fit right in

When the thickness of the tile is 8mm, the distance between the tiles is 9 mm. I made it easier, narrowed the distance between the tiles to 6mm, this is a nut and two washers.
