I love how much the Forestry Commission do to get people using their land, and your filming really showed the forest off in its best light. Oh and Poppy's radiant face in the car at the beginning, you're a very lucky mummy!
You're so right. The forestry commission are awesome! And awwww my girl! She does so well to get up adventuring early in the morning. I'm definitely a lucky mummy! ❤️👩👧❤️
Thanks 🤗 Lol... She tried to do the same today but then looked behind her and someone had already done it accidentally so Poppy was not best pleased 🤣 trees are bloody awesome! ❤️🌲🌲🌲❤️
Weren't they just! Couldn't believe it when Al said it was raining and miserable in Leeds... Then we got to Sheffield and I believed him 😱 We were so lucky! 😍
Great to see you, Poppy, Lucy and Gaby and a fantastic morning at the Pines. I last did it in August with my daughter as her graduation from C25k so have many fond memories.
Awww that's awesome! It's a great course for a C25K graduation! Much better than the Chevin that my friend just did hers on 🤣 Really good to see you too... What a wonderful morning! 😃
I love that parkrun - it reminds me so much of Germany and Salcey Forrest parkrun here. And vegan dog-au-saussage roles - yummy! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Penny. She is isn't she?! I'm so lucky! Although she ditched me this morning to run with my friend instead! 😱🤣 Sherwood Pines is definitely a special parkrun 🥰😍❤️
Thank you 🤗I absolutely LOVE parkrun! I would hate to miss a week! 🙃 I'm no good at sleeping in so I'd much rather be out in the world having an adventure than laying in bed ☺️ we usually combine our tourism with something else we're doing so it never feels like a chore, it feels like a holiday! 🥰
Nicola if you come next year you could stop the weekend at Centre Parcs which is very close to Sherwood Pines and there are loads of activities for you and Poppy. The bike runs are fantastic at S.P I used to go regularly and the feeling you get from just being in the open air with the sun shining through the beautiful trees is beyond words. Keep up the great podcasts.
Thanks 🤗 yes I didn't realise that Centre Parks was so nearby until we were there! Cycling around SP having adventures sounds like a pretty awesome holiday to me! 😃
Out of the 49 different events I've ran, this is definitely in my top 3! It's absolutely stunning with the sun shining through the pine trees, almost spiritual!! 🌳🌲☀️🌳🌲
Seeing those tall trees bring back fond memories of 2019 Hood To Coast Relay event in Portland Oregon. It was my last leg of the relay and I vividly remember trees like these ones. A good way to end the event and thanks for sharing:)
I love trees! My husband used to make us hug trees and at the time I didn't get it but now I totally do! 🌲🌲🌲 The light streaming through the trees totally took my breath away on the morning 🌄
Great video. You are both certainly having a wonderful time, especially on the slide! I bet that won't be the only time that Poppy is first to the finish.
We went here last week - it's beautiful. Your video proved very useful to me, as your preview of the Gruffalo and mushroom-themed playground helped my 2-year-old to forget that earlier he really, really wanted to go in the running buggy :) (I love running with him in the buggy but this was not the course for it!)
Done Sherwood pines twice. Lovely course great downhill at the end. Reduced parking and with Center parcs next door you could seriously make a weekend of it.
What a great looking course, I love running in trees. But not into them. It reminds me a lot of Delamere with the wide paths and things to do - I'm sure there's a Go Ape there, have definitely run past the Gruffalo when running Hell Up North (my favourite race). Great video again, another one on my maybe list.
I'm a regular parkrunner but have never done the Sherwood Pines one. I used to live in that area and visited Sherwood Pines a lot as a kid (we used to get our Xmas trees from there!), but for some reason I haven't been in years. Will have to pay it a visit next time I'm in the area :)
@@tom_new no way?! That's interesting, I was thinking it'd be relatively fast! I'd love to give lots of these courses a blast round. When Poppy is a faster runner than me we'll have to return so I can see what it's like! 😃
@@NicolaRuns Yup, I've only done it twice, and the last time was after half a bottle of wine the night before. After a 4.31 first km, struggled on the second km uphill! I think in the late Spring and late Summer you'd see it at its best!
Know you probably have a loooooong to visit list already, but you might want to take a peek at Delamere parkrun. It's in a similar woodland with a Go Ape course (and only need to be 1M tall for that one) between Manchester and Chester, so a good one to pop in on if travelling to north Wales for Snowdon perhaps? Can't recall there being a non-Go Ape playground though, but there is a Gruffalo.
Have you ever done Wyre Forest parkrun? It’s a one lapper with Go Ape at the end. It is a challenge - the majority of the downhill is in the 1st mile. The last mile is uphill with very steep finish.
@@NicolaRuns Differently beautiful to Sherwood but a really varied course. And you're next door to West Midlands Safari Park and very near the Severn Valley Railway too.
Yes just running through a forest. Look at the first finisher times. It’s close to Bewdley a lovely Worcestershire town. You have the safari park plus the Severn Valley Railway - a 16 mile steam railway.
It's interesting to see how it evolves over time. It was an official Time Trial originally. Who knows what will happen in the future 🙃 Run not a race seems pretty ingrained now though 😊
@@NicolaRunsif I'm being honest its person dependant in my opinion. I treat it as a run but those who start and finish towards the front probably do see it as some sort of race, which I have no issue with. I'm envious if anything of those quick enough to be finishing the incredible times they finish in
@@CallumJones-Bowman totally agree that they race it 100% but that doesn't make it a race. It's a little bit like saying that the London Marathon is a fun run because people do it slowly in crazy costumes for fun. No... It's a race. Do you see what I mean? It's the nature of the event that dictates what it is, not the nature of the participation 🙃

That was really joyful, thank you. I loved Poppy being first through the finish funnel! What a gorgeous location, I do love trees. Yay.
Thanks 🤗 Lol... She tried to do the same today but then looked behind her and someone had already done it accidentally so Poppy was not best pleased 🤣 trees are bloody awesome! ❤️🌲🌲🌲❤️
Wow. What a beautiful part of the world. What a stunning ParkRun.
The weather gods were certainly smiling on you, that's for sure.

What a brilliant looking course. Stunning scenery, beautifully captured
Thanks Rich 😃 it definitely is stunning 😍
This has just right to the top of my to do list! What a place! 🌲
You're a wise woman! It belongs up there. It's just a wonderfully beautiful place to run 😍
I love that parkrun - it reminds me so much of Germany and Salcey Forrest parkrun here. And vegan dog-au-saussage roles - yummy! Thank you for sharing.
It definitely shot up into my Top 10 parkruns 😍😍😍
Poppy is so full of joy and energy. 😍 What a beautiful parkrun. Great video, thank you.

Another fab fun video. What's your secret, where do you find the energy to tour most weeks? Do you ever feel like skipping a week for a lie-in? 😀

Exactly that! That's what it was for me! Like properly reconnecting with nature. Really really special and just such a beautiful place 🥰

Another great video and another parkrun to add to my ever expanding list! Those pines really do look tall!
