Wow the city was CGI ... it's so realistic
You are seeing a combination of 3 different elements. The live action footage of the streets, some CG elements, and then a TON of projections. So it looks real because they are laying real footage of the buildings onto the 3D geometry, and then filling in the gaps. Its very very well done though.

Alice in the borderland is the best live action Japan has ever done. For the past live action movies Ive seen alot of people complained and are disappointed to live actions cause "it cant compare with the anime" But Alice in the Borderland is different, we can clearly see how good and well made it is and no one has ever complained about it
typically, live actions aren't always good and end up becoming laughing stocks on the internet but the directors on this rly went above and beyond for this. it's so well done
It’s so amazing because as a Japanese person, I was genuinely so curious how they managed to make Shibuya look so empty. How they managed to make it literally identical to the real Shibuya is impressive as well, I could identify a lot of places that came up in the film!

king of clubs is easy to adapt i guess. but yes King of Spades is the harder one, because they haven't introduce Dodo and Heiya.
I'm looking forward for King of Diamonds and Jack of Hearts. Those are my favorites

Omg! Can't believe that opening scene in Tokyo was green screen! I thought they actually blocked off that entire intersection for that. Glad I saw that first before seeing this. Great job guys! Wonderful show. Can't wait for season 2.

The only change is how the characters are supposed to look, they aren’t as accurate but I rlly love this live action version since it sticked to the manga very well. I just wish they did it with Death Note so my bestie can watch, she loves Death Note.

Stand jetzt ist bisher definitiv noch keine 2. Staffel von Netflix in Auftrag gegeben worden. Aber dieser Prozess ist natürlich absolut nicht ungewöhnlich. Im Normalfall nimmt sich Netflix mindestens 4 Wochen Zeit, um die weltweite Resonanz auf eine Produktion abzuwarten und dann erst anhand der Abrufzahlen und den neugewonnenen Nutzern über eine Fortsetzung zu entscheiden. Im Fall von ALICE IN BORDERLAND sind wir aber recht optimistisch, dass trotz Corona Netflix bald grünes Licht für eine 2. Staffel geben wird. Allerdings wird uns diese dann definitiv nicht vor Ende 2021 erwarteten. Sobald es Neuigkeiten hierzu gibt, geben wir euch hier auf STREAM WARS natürlich sofort Bescheid. 👌

This show was a lot better than Squid Games in my honest opinion.
Don't worry you're not alone. Death games are better if the participants actually played for their survival rather than money.
And the games itself are interesting, especially the 7 of Hearts, where a simple game of Hide and Seek, turns into a depressing story of a lonely wolf.
I binged this series in two days.

I'm so happy they didn't rly exaggerate their appearance from anime to live action. Most of the live actions looks awkward, uncommon, smtimes cringey (not a hate love their effort tho). I hope they should start looking more realistic and natural for those upcoming live actions.

The reason why they can’t film the real shibuya and other locations from Tokyo. It’s because the population is millions so clearing locations can be difficult due to crowd and traffic problems so they have to replica by building sets. They even did while making fast and furious Tokyo drift well done 👍 for filming and everyone who worked in it I love the series! ❤️ Can’t wait for season 2.
