Man I feel that I always debate myself between Vulgar and Trendkill. A new level, mouth for war, Hostile, domination, hollow vs drag the waters, 13 steps, suicide notes 1 and 2, FLOODS. When it comes to the song floods I think tread kill takes it.
Every album brought something unique. CFH was a guitarists dream and had the higher pitched Phil Vox. Vulgar had Walk, FBD was a drummers delight. GSTK was pure energy. Wasn’t a huge fan of reinventing but it was ok. Amazing band.
Great southern trendkill is my favorite album of theirs amazing songs top to bottom everytime I hear the Floods solo I still get goosebumps dime was a absolute legend🤟🏻🔥
I would not have made it without Pantera. From about 92 to 2002 (96 to 99 was the worst), they pulled me through to repeatedly give me another reason not to "erase" myself. I was even the very proud owner of a Washburn USA Dimebag Darrell "Southern Cross" and God was that guitar glorious. Too nice to play. My biggest concert regret was that I only saw Pantera one time in concert. Pantera was not a heavy metal band. Pantera was an entity of some type that somehow transcends dimensions and reality. Pantera was and even now, still is a guaranteed friend who will unconditionally back the listener to get out of the most miserable depths of hell.
PANTERA was the bulldozer and the prophet that carried the metal torch through all that grundge garbage.(A.I.C. not included.) One thing that no one seems to rarely mention is Anselmos lyrics. Pure art. Muscle, depression, frustration and STRENGTH described with emotion. Rex Brown was a master of "accents," as I call them. As far as Vinnie and Dime, all that is common knowledge. Pantera will always be one of a kind, then and now.
I know you're a big fan of Thrash Metal so I've got a recommendation for you, check out an amazing French Progressive Thrash Metal band called Arcania. Arcania recently released a new album called "Lost Generation" and it's absolutely incredible from start to finish, Arcania is like Gojira and Metallica had a baby together. They made Thrash Metal that's super catchy, very technical and progressive, groovy and bluesy, passionate and raw, all rolled into the ultimate Thrash Metal band that goes down like a fine whiskey lol. Enjoy my friends! 🤘🤘🤙🤙
I was blessed to see Pantera with Dime and Vinny live 7 times all in Texas. The first show i ever went to was Pantera on their far beyond driven tour. Typo Negative opened up for them. Saw that one in Corpus Christi Tx at Jonnyland. Got to meet Dime and Phil. Met Dime and got a pic with him after he signed my Washburn Dimebolt 333 in Houston Texas when they where on their TGSTK tour with White Zombie. Last show i got to see was in Houston at ozzfest i believe... I think they opened for the Black Sabbath reunion.
I read somebody call the Great Southern trendkill the holy Grail of heavy metal. I think that fits and I come up with my own, Pantera is the closest you can get to turning into the incredible hulk
I still have the Tshirt that has a rat in the trap on the front and Im Broken on the back. I took to much window pain acid one night as a 15 year old dumbsss and had a bad trip. I jumped out the back of a pickup truck doing 75 on an old backroad in Baytown Texas while wearing that shirt. I got tons of road rash and learned how to navigate a strong lsd trip like an expert and my shirt got a few holes and bloodstains but the memories are still tragic lol
You could just talk about how PanterA is the absolute heaviest band that ever existed. Riffs. Tone. Breakdowns. Groove. There is nothing PanterA did wrong. From power metal to Reinventing the steel just hit after hit.
I prefer Trendkill over the rest since they just gave a massive middle finger to the mainstream. Don't forget Steel either. Awesome album and it's got what I think is Dime's heaviest riff he's ever recorded.
Talk about how damn near EVERY song was statistically proven to increase male testosterone, coolness, bad boy appeal (NOT Diddy babyoil bad boy) and 100% higher chance you got a razor and put it on a chain 😂😂😂 Legends 🐐🐐🐐🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🪒🪒🪒
He didn’t join the group for Trendkill either and that album rips. I wouldn’t call their last album trash by any means, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was my least favorite
I don’t support racism. I could direct you to many clips of Phil himself saying Pantera is for people of every color, in the mid 90s long before his stupid drunk antics. But I don’t think you’re really interested in that
If you’re a fan of guitars, metal and awesomeness, SUBSCRIBE! 🫡🤘🏻
The Great Southern Trendkill was a big part of my life when it came out. It's my favorite Pantera album.
Man I feel that I always debate myself between Vulgar and Trendkill. A new level, mouth for war, Hostile, domination, hollow vs drag the waters, 13 steps, suicide notes 1 and 2, FLOODS. When it comes to the song floods I think tread kill takes it.
I've always said that any Pantera fan who says GSTK is their favorite album is not a person you'd wanna mess with.
No one could touch Pantera as a live act!
One of the only bands that was going heavier with every album and they crushed it
Getcha pull🤘
PANTERA IS AND WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE BAND EVER EVER EVER
PanterA fan for life here! Vulgar is one my top five favorite albums of all time!!
🫡🤘🏻
Fucking right on brotha. PANTERA. SLAYER AND ALICE IN CHAINS are my all time top bands.

Vulgar Display of Power is a start to finish album..pure Masterpiece..Love this band
Every album brought something unique. CFH was a guitarists dream and had the higher pitched Phil Vox. Vulgar had Walk, FBD was a drummers delight. GSTK was pure energy. Wasn’t a huge fan of reinventing but it was ok. Amazing band.
LORDS UNMATCHED 🤘🥃🤘

Hell yeah I'm a fan of Pantera
Respect 🫡🤘🏻
Getcha Pull!
Blacktoothgrin
Bro that is the coolest shirt I’ve seen in a while
new too metal ...i check out pantera
In Flames from the 90’s and the early aughts is the best metal🎸🤘🏻

I need that shirt!!! Just got my dean ML flame yesterday! Man that guitar plays itself, catch those dives so smoothly, R.I.P Dime! \m/
The great southern trendkill was my bible for 20+ yrs
It’s such a brutally heavy album, yet beautifully melodic too
I did recently discover vulgar display was a line from the exorcist
I've personally met DimeBag and Vinnie Paul @ OZZFEST 2000 Atlanta Ga. USA Lakewood Ampitheater
Were they nice dudes?

Ok agreed, I’ll listen to them now..
Pantera is my life, my blood.
Signed : a french from hell

24 years ago we lost a legend.
I still have the Tshirt that has a rat in the trap on the front and Im Broken on the back.

I've got one of those camouflage MLs!
Far Beyond is one of the greatest extreme metal albums ever layed down
Only locals know about the Halloween. Parties. ;)
Mannnnn

I have a cfh tattoo, I'm a bit of a fan
Power metal is a super rad album.
I prefer Trendkill over the rest since they just gave a massive middle finger to the mainstream. Don't forget Steel either. Awesome album and it's got what I think is Dime's heaviest riff he's ever recorded.
What riff are you referring to? Steel was ok to me. Definitely a step down from Trendkill
I partied with Vinney paul
Never got into their music.
I like Philip, but I never liked the tone of the music of Pantera(the frequencies I mean)
Most authentic? But what about exorder?
They’re a great band but their music didn’t get stuck in my brain like Pantera. The riffs and solos aren’t as memorable as Dime’s
Lemmy lead a band and he played bass and song
Talk about how damn near EVERY song was statistically proven to increase male testosterone, coolness, bad boy appeal (NOT Diddy babyoil bad boy) and 100% higher chance you got a razor and put it on a chain 😂😂😂 Legends 🐐🐐🐐🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🪒🪒🪒
Eloquently put, good sir. You must be a scientist with all those facts!
You knoOow its troo
They sold out in reverse. Their earliest stuff is their most commercial
That’s the greatest way I’ve ever heard someone put that. I might borrow that if you don’t mind
@ absolutely brother! 🤘🏼
Bro is glazing other men
Why does giving respect where it’s do make you uncomfortable ?
@ only when it’s over the top fr fr
@ I’ll be sure to run future videos by you, go make sure it’s not “over the top”. 🤣
@@thetattedbaldguy thank you 🙏 at ease
Zakk should have brought back the confederate flag guitar dime used🎸🎸 true southern metal
Or at least one of his actual guitars
That's not a blast beat though?
It sure is. Just not the typical death metal/black metal speed you’re used to. If you play drums, play it at 2x speed and you’ll see what I mean
@@thetattedbaldguy It's a scissor beat, I have been in enough bands to be confident with my understanding.
So we going to just ignore Phil's racism/pretend it doesnt exist, or are we gonna lash out at anyone who brings it up?
This right here.
That last album was trash though....phil didnt even join the group to record the vocals ..its an amalgamation of recorded parts
He didn’t join the group for Trendkill either and that album rips. I wouldn’t call their last album trash by any means, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was my least favorite
One of those bands that don't meet their potential for me. Too boring.
VP kick drum sound is weak af. Prancey sounding shit, hate it. This is OLIVE GARDEN!!!
I thought you were gonna say because of the racism I guess that’s just a bonus
I don’t support racism. I could direct you to many clips of Phil himself saying Pantera is for people of every color, in the mid 90s long before his stupid drunk antics. But I don’t think you’re really interested in that
No
Dimebag Darrell was the greatest guitar player who ever lived
