- Steve Torres searched far and wide for the perfect air-cooled 911 964, and finally found it! He hired Matt Alcala of Best of Show Coachworks in Escondido to refinish the Porsche in a perfect 'Grey Black" paint color, along with color-matching the complete RWB body kit and accessories.
Next was re-trimming the interior by upholstery expert Oscar Reyes of Escondido Custom Upholstery. Steve and Oscar worked together to design the one-of-a-kind interior with pops of color in Steve's favorite, Ruby Star.
Steve waited patiently over 2 years for this build, and Nakai-San arrived to San Diego to re-create an absolutely beautiful version of the iconic 964!
The new RWB body kit included 4 fenders, front and rear bumpers, two side skirts, front canards, massive rear wing, and the widest custom wheels you can imagine!
Steve's family, along with some of Steve's closest friends watched in awe as Nakai created another masterpiece in front of a small crowd.
This custom RWB build was completed over course of just two days, and as the ceremonial RAUH-Welt windshield banner was installed, Akira Nakai and Steve Torres shook hands signifying the official completion of RWB #1 in San Diego, California.
Crazy when i see these. A dream for most, like myself, that will never come true and to see someone having it built in front of them just leaves me in awe 😍
Glad to have been part of this project
Couldn't have done it without you!
Maestro Nakai San creating another magnificent masterpiece 👌

Beautiful San Diego. I know the weather was right. I rained warm rain when I was down there. Always good work. Peace.

NICE
Nice color combination...what are these wheels? What size?
Soo cool
Why not show the finished product from multiple views?????
We will do a follow-up to show some road and driving footage soon!
It's done on purpose to expose to your own consciousness that you feel.. something... and that's all that matters... if you truly care, you will find more
Lmao you watching the wrong video budd
🔥🔥
Thank you for all your skills and support making this happen too!
❤❤❤
Nakai needs to spend some of that RWB cash on some clothes 😂
Baller
Is there any mechanical consideration to how these modifications affect the car? Steering rack reinforcement? Addressing bump steer? Any engine, suspension, or drivetrain modifications? Or is this build purely cosmetic?
Lots of consideration went into suspension, steering, ride-height, handling and comfort....suspension is still getting dialed in. Custom exhaust just completed last week.....she's definitely a working/rolling project with more to come!
All that with no pay off of different angles and rollers of the finished product? Come on bro.
We're working on the next segment now, this was just a little preview of the process!
Does this really add anything to the value of the car? Other than selling to someone who's a fan of his work?
it seems he has lots of fans around the world
Nakai-San makes it a one of a kind custom, that's got to be worth something beyond stock.
It actually adds a ton of value but that really not why most people do it, they do it for the love of the process and the look.
It actually decreases the value by a ton. LOTS of used RWBs don't sell for the original total of the car plus kit and labor. IF you're lucky, you'll break even. Think about the demographic you've narrowed yourself down to. Most people don't mind mods, but once you cut those OEM fenders, you can't undo that. Undoing an RWB conversion is more work than just going out and getting a stock 964 or 993. In the future these RWB cars will be similar to Fast Furious cars that were beloved at the time but today look SUPER dated and no one wants them.
You hate it now just wait until the fiberglass starts cracking and also the calking and the rust .
Why does EVERY video have to use that shitty sounding electric washboard for background. Give it a rest.
You waited three years? For what?
To arguably triple++ the value of the car!
@@AnalogAndGrit yeah, on a psych ward 🤪
@@GaryWilson-m6t Scared money don't make money BIG DOG
I'm to ignorant but looks, like a more fore show, but way overpriced
Look up white walker and witness the greatness that is RWB
cringe
Which Porsches or cars do you prefer and why? Contribute something deeper
@@AnalogAndGrit wow impressive lucky deal
Another hacked up 993. This fucking guy... Going around devaluing Porsches left and right.
Casting judgement is easy but tell me how doing this affects your daily life in any way?
