Loki basically sets the ground work for the setting of this deadpool film, not seeing Loki season 1 and 2 you wont understand where they are. Unless they spell it out in the film.
I completely get what Simon means. It's a little bit more difficult to explain since the concept of cinematic universes are relatively new in film. But in a cinematic universe, you watch movies and TV shows that take place in different corners of the same world. They don't have to connect, and because of that, you should be able to watch most movies without having seen anything else, just for pure entertainment. As for movies which are simply sequels in a "series" of movies, like Iron Man 3 or Thor: Ragnorok, which can be closed-off stories centred on one main character in a greater universe, it's usually common that one would be recommended to watch the previous films of a trilogy before you watch the second or third installment. But even then, with any movie, you shouldn't have to watch or understand something else in order to enjoy a movie. I definitely believe you don't have to watch any X-Men, Deadpool, or MCU movies to enjoy Deadpool & Wolverine. Since D&W is the third Deadpool movie, it would be recommended to watch the previous 2 to understand Deadpool's character, but you can still enjoy it. If anyone's seen that video of the guy who's not a movie fan, and has never watched a single Marvel movie, but was dragged to watch Avengers: Endgame with NO context, and still relatively enjoyed it, then you know what I mean. There are certainly a lot of things that may be surprising, or references that you won't understand, in D&W if you're going in blind, but I hope it will still be a fun time for anyone who hasn't seen every single Marvel movie since the 2000s lol
Wolverine has actually beaten Deadpool in a fight. If they fought again, deadpool has a much better healing factor than Logan, but I also think Wolverine would just cut off deadpools limbs and immobilise him. Deadpool could not win, in my opinion.
@@somethingelse4288 its the other way around my guy... deadpool heals much faster than wolverine. the only reason it might seem slower to heal small wounds is because he is fighting cancer all the time
It’s really up to the writer but logically it would be the exact opposite because Deadpool doesn’t have anything that can cut Wolverine Skelton but wolverine could do that to Deadpool
If you don't watch Loki before watching this, when watching Deadpool you'll be trying to understand something the MCU has already explained AND follow the story. You'd only be nerfing your enjoyment of the film. The MCU is an example of doing this perfectly. It's hard to seperate yourself a fan of the entire MCU but the way they explain and introduce seperate things in different movies before Infinity War was perfect.. At the very start of the film, you already knew what all the stones were capable of, you knew who Thanos was, all of the Avengers, all their motivations, you knew Shield. All of this was established in previous films. It's not like it's a 24 episode slog with filler either. It's a 6 episode season that establishes the timeline rules for every movie MCU movie in the foreseeable future... Just ignore the other series and watch Loki
Also, Simon, you asked who wins in a fight between Wolverine and Deadpool. I say they both go to a stalemate cause like….what else could they achieve. They both have superhuman healing. I suppose Wolverine is a bit more vulnerable cause sometimes his healing doesn’t work depending on who he is facing, but against each other it is probably a tie.
I guess the only thing is the TVA. If you think of the meme where someone steps on an ant and by the butterfly effect, everything changes, the TVA is supposed to prevent that sort of thing from happening by following rules because it can be catastrophic. There’s also different multiverses. So if a guy from universe 5 dies, he can still have an existing counterpart in universe 6. Not gonna lie it is complicated though. I don’t understand a lot of it myself. I watched the previous Deadpool movies - very cool. I’m probably a sinner for not having watched any Wolverine stuff but I’m vaguely familiar. This trailer would’ve been my first impression (aside from the few seconds from Deadpool 2). Ant Man is taken from a comic from what I’ve heard. Not surprising, for the comic nerds there’ll be Easter eggs. I kinda relate to not being able to watch a million things in order to watch something specific. It’s something they’ll have to keep in mind for future stuff.
Btw, the director of the film did say that you can watch it as a stand alone film or with the context of the other marvel projects. It doesn’t matter. I assume the TVA will be explained in this film too.
I see his point. Infinity War leads wonderfully into Endgame but...its the little things that you miss if you don't watch them all. For example, if you didn't watch Civil War you wouldn't know why Cap wasn't fighting along side Stark. If you didn't watch Ant Man 2, Ant man spawning in a van in Endgame makes ZERO sense. I reckon you probably could watch Deadpool & Wolverine without needing to watch Deadpool 1 or 2 as well as Loki S1 and S2 because Marvel will most likely do a short lil "Welcome to the TVA" in Deadpool & Wolverine and give new viewers the run down on what the TVA is.
Loki is absolutely phenomenal. It’s one of the best things the MCU ever came out with. You could go into Deadpool 3 totally blind, but if you watch Loki you will have a much deeper understanding.
Once you was asking about who wins it’s Wolverine, his healing factor is way faster so he could just cut Deadpool head off or in half and watch him slowly regenerate
There will be tons of references and easter eggs to the MCU and even the fox movies, but unless you deeply care about that or if you want to know about the TVA in detail (and its relevance in the wider MCU story rn), then you have to watch Loki. The movie will still be a solid standalone, and although it is not technically a 3rd deadpool movie anymore and more so of a bridging movie for x-men into mcu, it can still be considered a third entry of the trilogy, so that's pretty much it. Even the director said you dont need any MCU homework for this movie
To get a full understanding of the TVA, watching Loki would be a benefit, but I assume they are gonna explain it for those who haven't watched it - like what they did with Ms. Marvel in the Marvels. Also in MOM, Dr Strange took off into the Dark Dimension so I assume its gonna be Wong who rocks up here as his role as the Sorcerer Supreme is to protect his universe from mystical/magical/otherworldly threats. Also, given we're getting Cassandra Nova, I assume McAvoy/Stewart if not both will be there. Given her age, it would probably be McAvoy if it were between the two. Can't really have her without Professor X. So many rumours are flying about as well that either Daniel Radcliffe or Taron Egerton will show up as an alternative to Wolverine (i.e. Patch) and Taylor Swift as Dazzler. To summarize, I'm gonna be insufferable when this comes out🤣

Deadpool mops the floor with wolvering because he literally can't die. Deapool had sex with death and got cursed by thanos, i think, to not be able to die so that he wouldn't see death any longer because death was thanos babe or something. Wolverine, on the other hand, is dying from the adamantium in his body. Over time, his body has been fighting the adamantium, but as he got older, his healing factor wasn't strong enough anymore to stop the adamantium from killing him, giving him two death scenairos (either dying from the adamantium or someone killing him in his already weakened state).

Na I 100% agree with Simon. Unless it’s part of a series (trilogy etc), it’s just lazy writing to ride a new IP off the lore and story of a pre existing movie that has nothing to do with it
tbf tho to truly undstand the old marvel movies you needed to have watched all of them. Like during endgame you'd be thinking why the hell did ant'man just fly out of a van?
He does make a valid point. You cant watch most of the MCU films/series now-a-days without watching the previous ones. Unlike the stand-alone movies in the first 3 phases of MCU, you can watch Captain America Winter Soldier without watching the First Avenger. You can literally watch Iron Man 3 without watching Iron Man 1 & 2 and the Avengers. Today, you can almost understand nothing if you don't watch the previous releases from Marvel.
I think the complete opposite. to enjoy endgame and infinity war you needed to have watched all marvel movies before , to catch the easter eggs. But nowadays i think most people hate marvel because they've introduced too many new characters and nothing is connecting very much. Most of the new marvel conent are origin stories, which you can easily watch separately. Most people feel like it isn't as much of a connected 'UNNIVERSE' anymore.
He's just saying that because you kind of need to have seen Loki to understand some bits of what's going, but tbh you really don't need to even watch Loki
He is just pointing out that if you want to watch these movies, it forces you to watch five other movies and two shows just so you can understand who all of the characters are, and what they want. You cannot just watch the movie or the three movies and know why everything is happening.
i mean it isnt called deadpool 3.....also i doubt you need to watch the other 2 to watch this because the previous characters from 1&2 arent going to be in it that long, just for opening
I agree about seeing other movies. Good storytelling in shared universes and great movies can still be seen as standalone and without having to sit through movies and shows that you don't want to. The infinty saga made sense without seeing every movie. Those movies were mostyl great with very few misses. Post endgame mcu has mostly misses with a few good movies like potentialy this one. NWH. Guardians. Theu just dropped so much in quality , story telling, cgi and the characters we have now are nowhere near as entertaining or interesting as the og. They just put out too many shows. Too many movies and whatever they are buolding towards doesn't seem as Scary as what thanos was.. I have had almost no intrest in post endgame mcu besides very few movies

I am groot
Werewolf by night
wolverine beats deadpool on a fight but to death it would be deadpool cause he can regen even if split in half
so can wolverine... but he cant be split in half cause he got that adamantium
I one hundred procent agree that if you can't watch an individual franchise without watching overlapping franchise universe content it can't be amazing. But you should watch Loki, amazing series.
He only needs to watch 1 bloody series. It's like going to see a sequel and complaining you need to watch the first film
Yeah u can watch without anything, the only thing that could interupt is where the TVA comes from and u only need to watche 6 episodes of loki 40 mins each.
5:26 I agree !!
Loki has everything to do with this... but you'd only realise that if you watch it.
3:36 that Xaviers twin sister who was thought to have died at birth
I think seeing other movies enhances the experience not entirely necessary outside trilogies
I’ve never seen the avengers
"Do i need to watch Loki before this movie?" Yes and No, Yes if you want to understand what's the TVA and how they worked, No you don't need to understand the story because non of the cast even appear in this trailer
Simon it's all connected.....u may enjoy watching it but still leave with unanswered questions
I have seen all marvel but haven't really seen x men or Logan. If will have to see that to understand this right ??
LOVE YOUR FANTASTIC VIDEOS SIMON AMAZING ❤
Can't wait for July!
It said July 2026 😂
?
@@jjjfo1818 thats what he said plonker
I have seen everything since the beginning with Iron Man, I skipped anything related to Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel & Echo and I wish I skipped She Hulk and Secret Wars, I have seen Punisher but not Daredevil, I need to see that for future references.
if it wasn't for loki this movie wouldn't be possible
Don't care tbh. You don't have to watch Loki to understand. Either just be a comics reader or just watch Loki breakdowns cause that thing isn't worth your time.
@@shaheem19 ?? loki is fucking awesome. what are you talking about?
@@shaheem19shawn levy said that the movie doesn't require prior knowledge and is just made for entertainment purpose
@spike.07 it is tva is involved and who knows characters in the tva may show up
Simon you have to watch Loki. Loki is really really good just watch 1 season for me. I'm telling you Loki is really good series i bet you will like it for sure.
You don't need to watch anything beforehand to understand this movie.
Who wins in a fight?
Ans: Draw.
Reason: Neither can die.
Tbh if you want te back story you need to wacht loki and logan
Na I 100% agree with Simon. Unless it’s part of a series (trilogy etc), it’s just lazy writing to ride a new IP off the lore and story of a pre existing movie that has nothing to do with it
tbf tho to truly undstand the old marvel movies you needed to have watched all of them. Like during endgame you'd be thinking why the hell did ant'man just fly out of a van?
If you want to know about the TVA and why Deadpool is there you would need to at least watch the season 1 of Loki
I think that if you cant get the reference its on u
Was waiting for your reaction haha. Can't wait for this movie!
I don’t like watching all the trailers because you can get the plot of the story from all of them
Wolverine has more skill and experience than deadpool
“If it’s like a trilogy fair enough” oh so you mean Deadpool THREE?! 💀
I mean it deals with the tva , so some Loki refrence can be there
man didn't watch loki
Deadpool wins in a fight. He has carbonadium which negates healing factors
No both of them can die, they have regeneration but they have both died before
Tbh you dont need to watch anything from Marvel to understand this movie
Nope Being honest you need to watch TVA to understand….. Loki and endgame that’s it or heck even Logan
I’m absolutely sick of the you need to watch this series to understand the film nonsense marvel are doing. I ain’t watching Loki
I agree, but imo Loki is worth watching just as a good series anyway
See New Rockstar’s breakdown of this trailer Simon
They're wank
Sick of an fucking movie 🎉
I have had almost no intrest in post endgame mcu besides very few movies
im pretty sure Wolverine died because he was sick and the adamantium killed him
Simon needs to watch Logan
Let's go DEADPOOL WOLVERINE Enter Portal Gate Timeline Time Traveling Multiverse Cinematic Universe Marvel MCU
Deadpool can die if he has a Power dampener around his neck then he starts dying of cancer
Need to watch ever x men including Logan and loki
Logan is an x men movie
@@Helco800 it’s not tho it’s a wolverine movie lol where Does it sat x men?
Why is everyone so grossed out by the dog kissing Deadpool?
you don't need t owatch any of the other movies but if you watch the fox x-men movies you would understand some of the cameos better
Have u watched it yet
Shawn levy ( director) said you don't need to have seen an
Anything else
U need to watch loganberry before aswell I think.
うわー、うみの美しさは本当に一流です
Watch all to understand the story
every like this comment get's I have to do 2 handstands & 5 pushups
Don’t let this fool you that Simon is a fake marvel fan and only does these for views not cuz he cares about the movie u can tell by his reaction and everything saying ‘it’s gonna be soo goood’ when he doesn’t understand anything about the movie plot whatsoever🤣
