His running style reminds me of Jason Robinson
That short fast stride with shoulders tucked
If England dont use him it will be criminal
@@hawthornflowertreeno they didn’t
@@hawthornflowertree he didn't receive a pass for the first 50 minutes of the Argentina match. That's what happens when England play Farrell instead of Ford. And they said in commentary that he should've gone looking for the ball, but he's only 21 and England aren't your local under-12s team.
And he was shackled by the Borthwick/Wigglesworth attack masterplan.@@somersetfan1
absolute over rated ... another Ashton in making. Typical soft English winger
@@somersetfan1
And of George North before the micro managers got hold of him. I hope they don't mess with him in England we seem to
lose players like that
The French give their wings a chance to score tries; much more exciting game to watch than the the pedestrian grunt, which is the England game. What a wonderful debut for him.
Well done Arundel. Obviously he needs to be given the ball to create tries. That was not England.
As a Springbok fan, I was shocked this guy wasn't playing more in the RWC! Brilliant winger!
Unconditional backing of a young talent clearly brings better returns than the psychological micromanagement of England coaching.
It wasn't the management directly it was Owen Farrell essentially bullying him out of the starting 15
He is obviously a potential superstar and exactly what the sport in England needs given its falling viewer levels. England rugby should be trying to build a side around players like this when we are lucky enough to have them. Plus his speed and form won’t last forever. Jonny was Englands best ever player by his early twenties. Pick him now!
His speed won’t last forever but he’s only 20 and far from his peak years. He should be good for a decade and his power will remain. When he slows down to a 10.5 second 100m he could move to fullback (his preferred position) or 13? The world is his oyster. Borthwick needs to use him much better. I doubt he will though.
@@tomjoyce6365he could probably do it all given time. I just hope England let him play with ball in hand. Chasing box kicks is not going to grow his confidence
@@tomjoyce6365 if he slows down to a 10.5, what is he doing now?
@@reddragon1572 I know! 10.3/2 for 100m is considered 'Elite' level, i very much doubt he is running 10.5, but over 30m he may well be as quick as most high level sprinters. besides that, his body mass is all wrong for an out and out sprinter - too much upper body muscle which would not help at all.
@@martinp17 I know he is nowhere near a 10.2/3 for the 100m. That time would have qualified him for the UK sprint team, for the Olympics. His 100 is prob around 11 dead, but Tbf, he looks flying over 40m. 👍
Que animal, como no fue titular indiscutido todos los partidos. Un talentoso sin libreto. Carasucia de potrero. Magia pura
When you look at his running style he does not seem fast but that overhead of the second try just showed the clear contrast between his pace and the opposing players. Maybe that short stride gives him a strong base to ride tackles when he gets hit below the waist. There is a possibility that he might enjoy rugby in France (the style as well as the money) that he might stay over there for an extended stretch.
He's build for that French Flair rugby.. Amazing.. 🇿🇦
What an incredible debut for Racing! Three excellent tries! I’m not surprised though - having watched him grow as a player over the past 3 years, it’s obvious to anyone with eyes that he’s a phenomenal talent. Borthwick should have played him a lot more, and kept Owen Farrell’s abrasiveness under control (he & Arundell had a bust up).
For flair and a little 'je ne sais quoi' England should build their backline around Smith at 10, Arundell on the wing and Steward to mop up at fullback.
100% but so far Borthwick is clear in the type of rugby he wants to play. And it isn't good.
@bm8725 it's a shame, as we have some great attacking talent. Imagine a back line of Randall, Smith, Radwan, Kelly, Marchant, Arundell, Steward. Such exciting, skillful players. But Borthwick would rather muscle up and kick the territory. Boring anti-rugby really.
He should play for France. He’ll see some ball. One of Englands most exciting backs in a generation, criminally under used at the RWC
Abso-feckin-lutely. A disgrace
Quite. The French played him as much inside as on the wing.
I wish you weren’t right. 😒. England are back peddling - the RWC SF was a result of a super favourable draw. England coaching doesn’t seem to have the ambition, mind set or skill to blend the rich skills of the players available. Turgid up the jumper stuff and we’re not very good at that either.
He can’t play for France now the eligibility rules have changed. Well, he could I suppose but it won’t happen.
@@quietenglishman4179 which makes me wonder - is his best position actually center? He gets exposed under the high ball, but he would be a very powerful runner at 13, like his first try in this video.
His pace and strength reminds me of O’Driscoll. A quality winger but could be a superstar at 13. England should play him there
Problem England have is an ex England playing taking over as head coach and respecting the old gaurds too much. He doesn't want to hurt players feelings for changing them out. England need to lose about 8-10 players from that World cup. There is so many younger, hungrier players that want to come in. England have uncapped players playing way better than alot of our senior sqaud that played in the world cup. The likes of Josh Hodge, Joel Kpoku, Jamie Blamire, Cadan Murley, Adam Radwan, Ollie Hassell-Collins and players that have been capped but are 2nd picks Theo Dan, Martin, Rodd and also Arundell is a more favourable position. Apprantly having an argument with Farrell is enough to keep you out of the team, how true this was or not but the story came from some where within camp, it's rediculous. Farrell needs to move over.
England just playing him would be a good start!
Zammit only has speed too. There is nothing amazing about him.@@hawthornflowertree
Just played himself out of an England team with that performance
Coach and Faz will be fuming when they see that !
A superstar in the making and judging from how England ignored his skill at the RWC, he would do well to move to a country that appreciates what he can deliver.
He needs to be on the wing in the 6 nations!! We need more pace in the backs
As a Welshman I don’t think you should pick him.
This is what England need going forward... Give us Arundell on one wing and Murley/Lynagh on the other.
No chance. Until we can speed our game up that cannot happen.
@@stephenreeds3632 Well I'm sure it can happen now that the WC is over. Borthwick knows he has to build a squad around the young talent we have and has already shown signs of doing so... I don't see any reason to doubt it, the WC wasn't a good arbitrator for how this team is going to play from now on.
Not with the team right now. But 8-10 of our world cup players need changing out. Borthwick came in at a time where he couldn't do much with a team right before the world cup. But now it's over, England need an overhaul and a clean house. We could have a much hungrier and younger outfit. We have the players in waiting, players like Theo Dan, Martin, Rodd who have been capped but not very experience but need more england time and then players like Josh Hodge, Joel Kpoku, Jamie Blamire, Cadan Murley, Adam Radwan, Ollie Hassell-Collins who have no caps or a couple. Less kicking, more handling, offloading and getting these players such as Arundell/Murley ball to hand.@@stephenreeds3632
Throw radwan in the mix now that's an exciting bums on seats back 3 to watch!!! Radwan-arundell-murley
Wow - so much to put in the highlights reel. That was a great game - and for a debut!!!!!
Henry is a fantastic player. He has speed, agility and a real Rugby brain. What an asset he will be for England
and his new side in France.
Fantastic HENRY ❤
Racing have real centers that can pass the ball to the wings
Such a gifted player, would be a national superstar for almost any other rugby playing country. Sadly he's English , like me. And when he does get picked for England it'll be under the guidance of Borthwick and Wigglesworth. They'll make him chase ill-directed kicks and won't pass him the ball for an hour then haul him off.
Top quality highlights! Can they all look this good?
And England managed to play him in a game in the World Cup where he didn’t get one single opportunity to run with the ball.
Astonishing.
Under the right coach he'd probably help England perform to it's fullest.
Mamma mia!
Great debut
How long is England going to neglect it's homegrown talent....Arundell, Armitage ,Mercer. So frustrating.
Add to that Sam Simmonds. When he got his chance they didn't play to his strengths. But now that he is no longer eligible they are happy to pick an 8 with similar attributes to him
Played at the world cup against chile, scored 5, dropped for JMay next game, would have been nice if Borthwick had seen the outrageous talent and backed him. he is deceptively fast and powerful which makes him very hard to stop 1 v1
Agreed, May brought NOTHING to England's world cup.
I can see why he doesn't get a game with England. He likes to run with the ball and score tries. England prefer to have some 20st dollop drop to ground after taking a couple of steps or kick it.
Best player on the wings Storti and Arundell
Great player I can really see him playing 13 covering both sides of attack edit : but then you have Fecku
I hope England change the rules on players playing in foreign leagues. 2 players at that one club alone England are desperate for
He is an exception because london Irish went bust
@@MrRichard2418 so he can still play this 6 nations?
He's still eligible for the Six Nations due to his situation - LI going under and no English club having room under the salary cap to sign him. I believe he has to find an English team for next season to be eligible for the NZ tour and beyond though. Bath were rumoured to be in the running and given their history of stealing players from London Irish it makes sense!
@@samuelhonywill4499 I’m a bath supporter and that would be sensational. Now we just need him to get back on farrels good side and we can have englands most threatening back back
@@macraerobinson5511 Sounds about right - England's one dynamic back has to grovel to the most cautious, one-note, high-tackling, pedestrian, bully boy fly half to get a place in the squad.
Selecting Johnny May ahead of him made no sense
Horses for courses
@@rob.1 Yep we barely scored any tries......
Arundel is DYNAMITE
Reminds me very much of the great Danie Gerber... Strong thighs and a great swerve
So pleased for Henry ..knew he'd be amazing in france ...give him the ball this is what happens ..Steve Borthwick and England should be ashamed of themselves for wasting such a talent at RWC..shocking and depressing
Absolutely 100% - I was so depressed when he wasn't in the line up for Samoa and SA - idiots...
He has the potential to be a great. I agree similar to Jason Robinson. He's a worry for us kiwi's 😆
Toulon‘s 10 definitely had a shocker on defense 😳
Congrats Henry! It's about time he got some game time. It's a shame he had to go to France to get it, although I think he'll be a much better player for it.
What a player! England needed someone like him at the world cup
He scored 5 tries for England at the world cup
Crazy that we only picked him for one game@@doing_hard_things
😂
Nah to fast
Owen Farrell and Henry apparently don’t like each other so he never got the starts in the big games.
Took him world cup and hardly used him, crazy,it appears him and Farrell don't get on.
Arundell has a future in English rugby if he learns to run into an opposition player, get tackled and set up a ruck. All this outpacing the opposition and running into space will never catch on at HQ.
He has gifts that can't be coached should be an English international for the next decade.
Any Irish blood 😂 the man has serious wheels
I think he would make a good centre providing he has the rugby IQ
A cunning plan: don't play Farrell with Arundell, and give Arundell the ball: two ideas that Boirthwick was daft enough to ignore. Just one of the many daft ideas that Borthwick brings to Englishy rugby..
French domestic rugby is so far ahead of the premiership it's ridiculous
Beat the same man twice, the toulon 10, should still be playing for England but he'd get bored just chasing Farrell's kicks so why bother?
Arundell and Radwan got to be starters on the wings in 6 nations
Are England going to change their rules so he can keep playing for them? If they dont im sure France will be more than happy
The conservative nature of English rugby has always been the enemy of natural talents such as Arundell. Dissecting a player and inevitably finding a weakness in their game leading to an excuse to not picking them. I really hope I’m wrong on this one.
And still ended up on the losing side. Couldn’t fathom why he wasn’t used in the WC.
Every side apart from one was a losing side.
If England can give this guy an exemption (from the ban against foreign-based players being selected) for next year's 6N, they can drop the ban altogether. He's now playing in one of the best leagues in Europe and still scoring tries, FFS.
Jason Robinson vibes
England wingers aren't used in attack all they do is defend
Borthwick doesnt like exciting attacking talent unfortunately. He will waste away.
Wish him luck in France. They play rugby with the flair which suits his ability. Wasted in England.
As he plays in France does this mean he can't get picked for england now
Ah so that’s where Noah is at Toulon
They we are so dangerous in broken play and England lacked the cahunas to play him in the RWC.
Are you watching Borthwick!! Play him for gods sake !
England sleeping on this talent Tough hard runner
Amazing player . Has been for several years now . Hope he flourishes in France . He won’t be a mainstay as an England player while we have people like boring Borthwick at the helm of the England ship .
I hope that Steve Borthwick is watching this and realising how badly he managed his resources in the World Cup.
We may have come 3rd, but in the most boring fashion imaginable.
If England continue to pick only from the floundering self-interested PRL then this talent is lost.
Now he’s playing in France can he be selected for England?
Won't make any difference at the moment let's face it
Remember back to Dave Duckham. England wasted him in the 60’s. We began to use wingers with the Underwoods, and then of course Jason wrote his own script. This guy has it, but as we know, with Farrell, he’ll never get a pass.
Back to the 60’s for England. We’ve learned nothing.
Will waste awat in Eng especially under Borthwick.
He is young, and I think his move to Racing will help his game immensly. His ability with ball in hand is amazing. However, there is much work to do with his defence, it was pretty shocking last night.
Legs like tree trunks.
Questionable tackling though. Would like to see him up against van de merwe in the 6n. Would be a brilliant match up
I'm glad I am not the only person who saw him nearly get stepped by a 6. His speed is great, but clear proof why he was second to J.May in the world cup. The kid has talent and can improve though
It does not surprise me at all that England would discard their Ussain Boult, from the team. They don't value passing, precision, or pace, or scoring tries. So they don't know what they are missing. Borthwick is an idiot.
Arundel and Radwan in the same team?!…nah, couldn’t happen as the England management aren’t that imaginative . Criminal selection policy leaving those two out of our starting line up
London Irish loss France gain, hope he plays for France World Cup 2027
He will be talked about long after EddieJones ,Borthwick ,England……
He encapsulates why schoolboys get enthralled with rugby and stay interested to their dementing years
A pity he can’t unearth an Irish grandmother ,what a wonder it would be to see him playing again with Paddy Jackson in a green shirt
IRFU- RWC 2019-Ireland contrived to lose.
English rugby stifling English talent by not including him in the England side, crazy, dumb, malicious, play for France Henry they love you...
Rabito😅
Wasted by Borthwick, great player.
Lose the musac, ffs.
Pretty pathetic that not one Premiership club picked him up.
England coaches, past and present, cannot play with attacking backs. Perhaps they should watch the French.
Another reason to get rid of Farrell....denying this talent his game to play as he did with Smith
He wont succeed for England if the rumours are true that he fell out with Mr England (Farrell) for not chasing aimless kicks
Farrell can't pass more than a few yards to his left anyway and the rest of the team know ENgland will kick away 90% of their possession, so Arundell will never see the ball.
English Rugby is dead. This stupid salary cap is tieing the hands of the prospects of England. Now I read next year that each club can only have one elite player. For example Saracens currently have two. Farrell and Itoje. Next season Saracens have chosen Farrell to be their one elite player so Itoje’s salary will be cut in half. So he’ll be off to France.
Heroic???
Moenie KAK wys nie. He's Overrated, plain and simple
Great move, England's club rugby is 3rd rate,, the French know a top rate player,,,unlike Borthwick,
Most underrated English player
He's build for that French Flair rugby.. Amazing.. 🇿🇦
