Thanks for the fun video. I love the trick of holding a loop of line under the rod hand mid or ring finger. I can’t wait to try it wet fly fishing where I’ve learned to keep the rod up to allow slack in the line to prevent missing takes and brake offs when fish slam the fly on a tight line. Your loop trick seems like a good alternative. Also like the trailing hook patterns. I’ve found mini intruder style flies to have a better land to hook ratio than long shank streamer patterns.

A lil late here but im using a 3 weight redington hydrogen with a 250 grain opst commando groove with 10 ft lite sink tips, my running linre is opst laser line as well.

Great video but just a little advice I suggest you when you trim the excess don't throw it into the water... plastic contamination, maybe you cannot change the world but a little help can make a difference, don't you think? Great you take your kid to experience nature.z

@@elevationrifles got a 225gr commando coming for my 3wt dually 2. 10ft float tip and 10ft run 80gr tips
Love spey fishing swinging flies. It's the only way I fish since I can't single hand fish. Great real video!
