Have a 2021 Standard 50's in Heritage Cherry and cant put it down. Absolutely love it even though Im only a living room/bedroom beginner. Late starter in my 50's
Yes bring back the Firebirds..I have a Reverse and a Non Reverse and I love them both..but you can't buy a Firebird unless you spend $6000 plus on a custom..
Ok, I have both a Les Paul Standard. And a little over a year ago I bought the new Les Paul Deluxe 70’s. (I owned a 1976 model back in the day). I find myself playing the Les Paul Deluxe more than any other guitar I own (7 other electrics). I love the sound of the mini Humbuckers. At my age, I’m playing as much clean as I am overdriven (maybe even more). Your description of the mini being halfway between a P90 and a full size humbucker is dead on. Great video.
Love my P90 Les Paul Standard. Also picked up a standard 50's when they came out late 2019, it is one hell of a LP! The humbuckers sound great and build quality is spot on. Even came very well set up. Seriously the best LP I've purchased in the last twenty years. Moved away from Gibson Guitars for a spell because of some issues, am very happy with the HUGE turnaround post 2019. The quality is back for sure. Some of my favs are my early 80's and although not 'correct' by 50's standards (haha pun there) do like my two mid 70's LP's. Then again they were the first and second LP I ever purchased new, so there is most likely a bit of bias there. Congrats to Gibson for getting it together and kicking everything up a much needed notch! As far as what guitar would I like from the video? Would have to be the TV yellow P90 Special. Always wanted one yet end up with something else. One Day soon hopefully. Cheers!
For people trying the 60s and 50s neck, do yourself a favor and really spend some time with each neck. Sometimes a neck that feels off at first, needs some adjustment period based on your past experience. Then after you get used to it it can become the best neck profile for you. Conversely, sometimes a neck that feels great at first can cause your hand to cramp up after 1 or 2 hours of play. So really give each neck a proper chance.
Nice review , thank you ! I had just finished watching the SG video so now I’m on my game . Well , at least having a better understanding of what is new for 2024 . So , after I refi the house , I’ll be back ! Take care .
I’ve owned the Junior and Special from the Original Collection as well as a 60’s Standard and found myself moving to the 50’s Standard in Tobacco… it hands down takes names later as in “kicks ass!” And then does so! But have to say, the growl of the dog ear P90 on the Junior and the simplicity… it’s just a perfect rock n roll guitar! Collectively though, I’ve owned nearly some 20 Gibsons over the years and have to tip my hat to the Original Collection… just can’t go wrong w/ any of them! Hands down the best Gibson’s I’ve played and owned outside of maybe Historic Reissues which… LOL… think Gibson should maybe toss me a bone and hook me up on a ‘58!!!😉❤️
I guess I'll go with the 60's bourbon burst because that's the one I have. I got it used at my local dealer so it already has some light Murphy lab aging.😊
Have the Special and the SG JR from the original series next two guitars will be the 50s les paul and the 61 sg standard. Love thr original serie so much!
Thanks Gibson ! les paul is my favorite guitar ! I really appreciate the idea of keeping the original design🙏 I have a question~is les paul standard 50s pick up burstbucker1,2 the version used wax potted or unpotted? thanks gibson🙏
gotta love the new colour. my wife she's been rocking those Pelham blue for years. Now i have a reason to buy 2 Les Paul. The Pelham blue to match with her LP and the Fuchsia for me.always fancy the natural finish at the back for LP.
I got a 2021 les paul standard 50s in cherry burst and I love it in fact I'm getting ready to plug in after play for hours last night my so I'm going to ROCK 😮
@@gibsonwill you guys plan to make both the 50s & 60s Blueberry burst in left handed? I’m a left handed guitar player and I would want to have the 60s blueberry burst in left handed later on.
This guys said the 60s slim neck was causing a difference in twang from the front pickup. Yet doesn't realize that the gold top with the thicker neck is using completely different pickups!
I've owned Gibson USA Les Paul guitars. Then I found how amazing the Gibson Custom Shop is. Now, I only own and buy Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul guitars.
I have a 60s Standard in Lemon Burst and a Tribute which is an underated guitar in my opinion. I love those guitars but that Ocean and the deluxe in that wine red were awesome 👍. Thanks Gibson take my $ 😂

The Gold top! When you guys made the traditional pro ll, man that guitar sounded fantastic. Wish i still had it. At the end that TV Yellow p90 was super punchy out of all of them, atleast to my ears, mojo.
Crying a bit about the fact that plain tops weren’t available last year when I bought my bourbon burst 60s. Great addition to the line. Definitely would’ve bought one.
I have a 2022 60's Bourbonburst that I wish I had returned. I can't get a good even sustain out of it. It wants to feedback on the D and B strings which produce that high frequency feedback that is ear piercing. I swapped the pickups out for some Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups that I already know are fantastic and it didn't help. I owned a 1999? 1960 Les Paul Classic and a 1976 Les Paul Deluxe with a full sized humbucker in the bridge and both sounded great. My 60's standard is a disappointment. My Les Paul Special on the other hand sounds really good, as does my 335. Guess I have a dud that I will need to unload. Sucks being left handed. Always forced to buy sight unseen if I can even get it.
Imho Gibson should make a Les Paul with the natural colours of the wood, like a guitar not painted. Anyway I prefer miniHums to hums for classic rock and blues.
Would like to have Les Paul offerings: the Recording, Professional, and Signature models re-issued. No more Slash, Hammett, artists ad nauseum versions, please Gibson. Also, equip all the guitars with Steinberger tuners - it's a brand in the Gibson stable.
After many years of studio and stage experience using MANY Gibson Les Paul Guitars I have had to sell them all. They do not stay in tune for me. I have been to every luthier, specialist and Gibson pro's-TRUST ME. I finally settled for a Gibson Les Paul Junior just to have and it stays in tune pretty well.
I go for the Deluxe- LOOKS AND SOUND of the mini-HB's always my Fave. But....WHERE are the LEFTYS? And DOUBLE-CUTS??? They MISSED the BOAT, NO VOLUTES EITHER!? BRING BACK the VOLUTE, and the STRAIGHT PULL H/S like on some of the PRO Models - Just look so UP-TO-DATE and Modern. And change the hockey-stick Explorer H/S to a 'V-Style' ARROW shape. Looks AND Works Better! Nice Overview though..... But those PRICES!!! Notice they don't say how much $$ a Junior or Special WAS when it 1st Came OUT! hahaha But 2K? I dunno....
I used to be a huge Gibson fan. But I haven't even wasted the time to look at a Gibson in years. The finish on the bodies was atrocious at best for the price. The $100 kiddie guitars were smoother. Seen smoother seas during a storm. Hopefully this was addressed. And a new guitar shouldn't require a $200 fret working.
for me the les paul is the coolest guitar ever. unfortunately I can't buy this beautiful guitars... not because I don't have the financial means, no, I'm left-handed..

No....please don't. Just sell these cheaper. They shouldn't have high mark-up anymore.
That junior sound pretty damn good
Already have an R8, but this video convinced me that I really need a Junior.
the junior is cool, but the special seems next to me personally. as a guy with a horde of studios and various SG's
Do I need another Les Paul? No.

Alpine White with gold hardware
Man im loving those colors, the oxblood and fuschia are gorgeouss

Close, could not pick one over the other!

Oxblood or 60s cherry on the Epiphone Les Paul Standards would be FANTASTIC

They are cheaper now than they were in the 70's. $600 in 1978 would be $2,934.00 today.

Deluxe! Want!
Great video. The way you play the Les Paul looks like Slash. For some reason you have the same technique.
Really want a lefty gold top p90. 😢 Please make them.
Gibson just stuck a fork in all the other guitar brands with the custom colors. I’ve been waiting for these for YEARS. Thank you, Gibson.
Glad you like them!
You can literally get the same for about the same price hand made for you.
Got my first Gibson Les Paul this year, then I discovered the SG....Nothing sounds like a Gibson Les Paul.
