Hey guys so it turns out that ESL is not the company that offers the TOEFL test.. It is ETS... Got confused.. sorry... don't yell at me... haha love u! -Joss
I believe that accent means trying and learning. I do have an accent because English is my second language. I am proud of myself because I'm bilingual. Thank you guys!
Why is people salty about Joss' accent? Take in consideration that the girl can speak Spanish, English and communicate well in German. Love you Joss and Janik!
Based on my somewhat limited experience, I find that most people around the world are _very_ considerate when someone else tries to speak their language. It seems as though the only two groups who have a problem are English and French speakers. Obviously, this doesn't apply to all or even the majority of Anglophones and Francophones, but far too many of them have either a "we expect you to speak our language perfectly" or a "if you can't do it right, don't try at all" attitude.
I think you both do have an accent and you can tell that Janik is German and Joss speaks Spanish. But I don't think that's a bad thing! Accents are beautiful. Let's make this world more diverse!
Correct, he sounds a german talking english and she as a mexican talking english. That is not bad. People that say he sounds american may be because he looks like a white American. That's it.
Guys! You've saved me. I'll have an interview tomorrow in English. I'm from Mexico and I have one year lerning English. Honestly I am terrified but this video gave me strenght. I have accent but I commit some mistakes with grammar. Most Americans have been nice and I hope tomorrow the man will be nice too. Wish me luck!
Joss and Janik I'm dying! This is so awesome guys. I've been at the United Nations too! I went to the CSW one year ago. My dream is to work at the UN like you. You're an inspiration!
I think your accent is AMAZING, Joss. It's so clear and understandable. English is a language spoken in many countries. There is no such thing as an authentic and original "English accent" The English language has so many dialects/accents. If you look at the origin of English, it's from England. But then the English colonized so many countries, even their own neighbors! Irish, Welsh, and Scottish people have different dialects then English people. Is there English not authentic? Austrailian and American people speak English that sounds different than England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. There is no such thing as a "wrong" English accent. The English language is becoming like Latin, it's gone through so many changes depending on the region in which it is spoken. So anytime someone tells you your English accent is not good, they have no idea what they are talking about. The English language is diverse, and your specific way of speaking IS correct and good.
I think if you want to learn a new accent is great (I'm also learning British accent) but you've never been ashamed of your own accent, so please if your reading this and you don't like Joss's accent, you should better leave and stop complaining.
Hace poco fui a estudiar inglés a Canadá y las maestras no se cansaban de decirnos que no tuvieramos pena de nuestros acentos, que habláramos y poco a poco las palabras fluirían mejor, pero si hay muchas personas que se esmeran muchísimo en tener una pronunciación perfecta... yo preferiría entender más cosas a tener “mejor” pronunciación (: Love you guys, keep up the good vibe. I’m your fan from Mexico city 💞
LOL the hate comments are so stupid. Just because someone speaks in a different accent doesn't mean that they're wrong. Even native English speakers from Australia, America etc don't share the same accent. Great content as always. Nice to see you guys have fun making videos ❤
hi joss :) i really liked this video! i am mexican but i live in California!... i feel so proud of you! you inspire me so much! i speak English but but i have an accent of course... i always been afraid to speak English infront of people... because of my accent... sometimes people... when they hear you speaking English...specially our own ethnicity...they make you feel like you don't understand the language... and they make fun of you... when this should be all opposite....my parents brought me to the United States.. when i was 12... i graduated from middle school and also from high school...... now im 28 and im still... a little afraid to speak up... but thanks for this video.. i feel so proud of you.... gracias por inspirarme joss :)

Your English is fluent, It's just your accent and trust me you not the only one who struggles with it. These folks just hating and I bet they only speak one language 😂
Don't listen to those haters Joss! Your English is perfect and your accent is cute AF! Besides, speaking three (or more?) languages with an accent beats speaking only one without!
Speaking as someone whose childhood includes living years at a time in Chile and Belgium, and whose mother is a professional English teacher (now retired), and who has dealt with native speakers of the American (several regional dialects), Australian ,Canadian, English, and Welsh versions of the English language and non-native speakers of English from a multitude of countries around the globe... Neither of you speaks perfect English but you both speak it at least as well as the vast majority of native English speakers from any country where it is a majority language. You've got nothing to worry about, and please do not try to adopt any specific style, or pronunciation, or accent, or slang for the sake of "improving" your English. It's an amazingly flexible "living" language and the two of you are usually easier to understand than some of the folks I've had to deal with who were born & raised here in the USA. You're the only you that you've got -- don't mess with how you speaks! :-)
nairbvel Exactly. I speak Mexican-Californian (not to be confused with Chicano) English and I used to work at a call center for customers from Illinois, Florida, and southern US excluding Texas. I simply COULD NOT understand the southern accent, they spoke so fast, with a vastly different tone, and way too many unfamiliar idioms for me. It was a nightmare.
I know this is an oldish video, but just wanted to say that your English is sooo good! And it's awesome how you guys know so many languages. And everyone has an accent. And I quite like yours!
Same girl. My accent makes me feel self-conscious about myself and even more when I speak to English native speakers. I have even cried about it (no joke). But watching Joss speak so confidently with her accent made me feel better about mine. So I subscribed and started to watch them. Plus, their videos bring so much happiness to me and they are such a cute couple. I love both of them so much already! They are awesome!
Nothing wrong with a Mexican accent ? One of the most popular TV shows for almost 70 years is the "I Love Lucy" show. About a American wife with her Cuban accent husband. Lucy and Ricky. Joss and Janik are like a modern version of the I Love Lucy show. lol
Estadounidense here. Your English is amazing. We all have traces of accents in our second languages. Having an accent doesn’t mean you can’t speak the language. Your accent is perfectly understandable and you both sound great. You guys are awesome!
Hey guys, just came across your video clips. Love the energy and the good vibe. Accents don’t matter as long as you can communicate clearly. Joss speaks great English and Janik speaks awesome Spanish. I was born in the USA, yet a Spanish native speaker, and I also lived in The Netherlands, Sweden, and Finland, I only speak Swedish and Dutch, but my Dutch helps me understand Joss’ frustration with Deutsch. Jesus! But that is the beauty of learning foreign languages! Good job y’all ..! Yes... Houston calling.
I loved this! I'm still learning English, but I tend to do it self taught, so its not perfect yet!! Joss, your english is great! Forget about that jealous people and keep your accent! 😀
I love you guys. 😍☺️ I’ve been living in the USA 1 year. I know that my accent is horrible, but I’m doing my best. I already got my High School Diploma and I’m going to start college. ☺️👍. Thank you for your videos. You help me a lot.
Joss, you speak English so well! I'm a spanish-native speaker (primer idioma) and English is my second language. I had a very strong accent when I first started, but keep speaking it and don't let others shame you for your accent! Many of those people can only speak one language and here you are speaking 3! You are so awesome! Saludos desde Texas :) I love y'all!
I do speak USA English but I will give to the Mexican lady, she speaks USA English. The German gentleman speaks crystal clear English but as close to a European English. Single in the USA
Guys your english is great !. Joss don't listen to them , accents represent where we came from and are something to be proud of , you have a cute natural accent not a fake one like Sofía Vergara. apuesto a que muchos que la critican ni si quiera son bilingües y si los son ellos también tienen acento. love you muchachos !
Good think that gave you an idea for a video! On the other hand... I'm an English teacher and trust me, I've heard people with a very strong Mexican accent. So your English is actually really really good. Btw, I'm Mexican too. Saludos desde México!
Just to be honest .As a third generation Hungarian German american who doesn't know a lick of his great grandmother tongue. Who was more taught how to speak old english more than modern. Hats off. Both of your english is way better than mine. P.s. thankyou. I've been trying to learn spanish for a long time you two been the greatest of help. Also later I attend to learn german. So thankyou. I pray for blessing on your relationship, each other and your families.
Everyone has an accent from the perspectives of others. If those haters tried to speak another language, they’ll most definitely have an accent. I admire you guys and your determination of learning more than one language. I am so happy I came across your channel a few days ago. You guys have inspired me to learn a third language. I love you guys ❤️
I personally love your accent when you speak English Joss, it sounds beautiful, and the same goes for you Janik, when you speak Spanish. I'm Greek y mi español no es demasiado malo, but people make fun of my accent whenever I speak German 😂 You guys are awesome, you make my day. Be happy, always :)
Thanks guys for this video I'm from Nicaragua, and I learned english in just one year, but I wanted to keep learning and I did it with this video, and Joss don't care about people judging ur accent at the end what it matters is ur knowledge,so don't worry. Love u both💕💕💕💕
This was so impressive, honestly! You're both very very good at English, and I really enjoy your accents. I'm learning Spanish right now and it gives me courage to work on improving my accent!
Thank you guys!! You are awesome! I adore your videos bc they make easier learning English! your accent is also good! Speaking three languages is a hard work, and you can do that!!! 😘 Saludos desde México!!! thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
I really like this video. The first time that I spoke with a native english speaker I was so afraid, but then I learn that it's okay to make mistakes. With the time I learn to have more confidence in myself. My older brother say's I have an accent, but i love it. The accent I love the most is the brazilian.
Joss I actually love your accent. I think when you have your own accent it identifies you and it's cute haha❤ love you guys!!💕 Saludos desde Monterrey 😊🎉
I really like this comment. I have a foreign accent too and I HATE it. I have tried so hard to change it. But you saying that a perk about having one is that it gets to be your OWN made me feel better about it. It does get to be our own and it doesn't belong to anyone else. It's unique :)
Congrats Joss! I haven't written a comment before this, I used to only watch your videos, but I think that it's important to share with you that we're Mexicans that are happy for your successes :) Y como decimos los mexicanos, "que se te resbale" ;)
Saludos desde Cuernavaca, Morelos! You guys are awesome and the point of speaking another language is to grow. Whether your accent is on fleek or not who cares, we all have one even in our native language. Thanks for your videos guys, stay happy and positive always. :)
Loved the video, like always, and both accents are perfect, don't listen to people. It's obvious that if you are not native American/British you will sound different, some people get closer to the native accent but you can definitely notice that they are not native. Love you guys a LOT! 🖤
A lot of people have accents and we all speak English according to where we live or where we grew up. For instance, I'm from Belize 🇧🇿 and our official language is English but we don't have an American accent or British. We have our own! This world is so diverse and we need to start respecting each other instead of bringing people down. XO
Joss! Your Texan accent was hilarious! It was not close at all but it's funny (for me, as a Texan) how people always try it differently. BUT your accent when speaking English is what makes your voice unique. PS. Thank you for all the laughs you have given us viewers! I just said goodbye to a Belgian friend I made in Mexico a couple of minutes ago, and this cheered me up.
English teaching does not focus on being close to an accent but rather on error avoidance. I think you guys doing a great job and both Englishes are spoken very well. Don’t focus on sounding like a British or American. Stuck to your German or Mexican roots. It sounds more authentic and makes you way more sympathetic. 🙌🏽💙
I really do think that keep a native accent it doesn’t have anything to do with your knowledge about a language... on the other hand, I believe that it has to do with keep your origins, like a Brazilian writer says: “Ela faz questão De conservar as suas origines Observe bem E você notará Um sotaque de amor” or “She causes struggles To preserve its origins Look closer And you will notice A love accent” Speaking another language it could be very difficult at the beginning, but I admire you Joss. I’m sure that native speakers congrats you because you’re so good in English (and Janik too) you don’t have to prove to anyone, just to yourself... The way you confront all the negative the comments whit so much fun makes me admire u even more. Keep doing it girl, you will go far... P.S. sorry about my limited English but I think I forgot English when I started to learn Portuguese Hugs from México!
Your accent is great! Clearly you have a proficient English, don't mind the comments. We all have a bit of an accent to some extent regardless of how well we manage a foreign language, totally normal. I find it so interesting and cool! You both speak very good English! Hugs from Finland!
People who say that Janik sounds like an american are deaf and have never been to the US. Also, those who told Joss that if she wanted to speak a foreign language she should learn it well, you guys need to open up a book on linguistics and psychology. She has an amazing English for someone who learned it later in their life. You should know that the older you get the more difficult it is to learn new SOUNDS (don't even argue that's proven).
JEG Janik DEFINITELY doesn't have any American accent. I'm not sure whether you've been to the US. Let me tell you, I'm trilingual so I have an ear for languages, and Janik makes plenty of mistakes and you can easily (with linguistic education of course) tell him apart from any American. English is my second language so I can tell when someone isn't a native speaker either.
Victor Marquez exactly my thoughts. I'm American but grew up in Mexico and I can still tell Janik is not a native English speaker. He has a slight/small accent
Screw that haters, seriously who complains about accents!? The same people that will always find something negative to say! Your voice is fine, don't ever change.
Buen trabajo chicos!
Hey guys so it turns out that ESL is not the company that offers the TOEFL test.. It is ETS... Got confused.. sorry... don't yell at me... haha love u! -Joss

Joss and Janik
How dare you make a mistake in one of your videos! We, the viewers and subscribers, demand perfection! 😋😁
Why is people salty about Joss' accent?
Take in consideration that the girl can speak Spanish, English and communicate well in German.

Jesus! But that is the beauty of learning foreign languages! Good job y’all ..! Yes... Houston calling.
I loved this! I'm still learning English, but I tend to do it self taught, so its not perfect yet!!
Joss, your english is great! Forget about that jealous people and keep your accent!
I love you guys. 😍☺️ I’ve been living in the USA 1 year. I know that my accent is horrible, but I’m doing my best. I already got my High School Diploma and I’m going to start college. ☺️👍. Thank you for your videos. You help me a lot.
Madre mía, me encantan vuestros vídeos!! Love you guys from Spain!!!
I actually love Joss’s accent it’s so cute and makes me want to keep listening to her tell her stories
Joss’s voice remains me of Salma Hayek’s Mexican accent I love it. I think Janik sound great in English and Spanish his accent sounds good on both.
How can someone dislike you accent? It's sehr bonito and toll.
Joss' accent is great for me! You two are the best!! I love your videos!
I do speak USA English but I will give to the Mexican lady, she speaks USA English.
The German gentleman speaks crystal clear English but as close to a European English.
Single in the USA
Oha ich liebe Joss Akzent! So cute
Saludos🇲🇽💖
A mi me gusta tu acento Joss y te entiendo perfectamente 😙
Guys your english is great !.
Joss don't listen to them , accents represent where we came from and are something to be proud of , you have a cute natural accent not a fake one like Sofía Vergara.
love you muchachos !
I love your accent! I’m Mexican from Texas and I actually have a bit of an accent speaking Spanish. I love you guys!! Greetings from Belgium!!! 😍

"My heart is melting every time" 😍 son la pareja mas linda del mundo.
Love u both💕💕💕💕
I like how you guys do everything as a couple it's so nice that you guys spend so much quality time together as a couple, keep up the videos
This was so impressive, honestly! You're both very very good at English, and I really enjoy your accents. I'm learning Spanish right now and it gives me courage to work on improving my accent!
Joss, you speak English super well!!! Don't let anyone get you down!
Thank you guys!! You are awesome! I adore your videos bc they make easier learning English! your accent is also good! Speaking three languages is a hard work, and you can do that!!! 😘
Saludos desde México!!! thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!
I really like this video. The first time that I spoke with a native english speaker I was so afraid, but then I learn that it's okay to make mistakes. With the time I learn to have more confidence in myself. My older brother say's I have an accent, but i love it. The accent I love the most is the brazilian.
Joss you have an amazing accent 😍
Joss I actually love your accent. I think when you have your own accent it identifies you and it's cute haha❤ love you guys!!💕 Saludos desde Monterrey 😊🎉
I really like this comment. I have a foreign accent too and I HATE it. I have tried so hard to change it. But you saying that a perk about having one is that it gets to be your OWN made me feel better about it. It does get to be our own and it doesn't belong to anyone else. It's unique :)
Congrats Joss! I haven't written a comment before this, I used to only watch your videos, but I think that it's important to share with you that we're Mexicans that are happy for your successes :)
What?!!!! Guuurl your accent is awesome, be proud of it, you are and inspiration for me, keep going gurl 😄
A intentarlo! Gracias chicos!!!! 🤗👌
Saludos desde Cuernavaca, Morelos! You guys are awesome and the point of speaking another language is to grow. Whether your accent is on fleek or not who cares, we all have one even in our native language. Thanks for your videos guys, stay happy and positive always. :)
Sometimes when i watch their videos i think wow so crazy how those two are a couple.
They're so different and i think it's the reason.
Great video!!
Loved the video, like always, and both accents are perfect, don't listen to people. It's obvious that if you are not native American/British you will sound different, some people get closer to the native accent but you can definitely notice that they are not native. Love you guys a LOT! 🖤
Your accent is the prove of your roots. Don't forget where you came and let all of them say what they want. Your accent is precious 😍
LOVE ü guys 😘
0:07 I loved seeing you learning to Harry Potter movies! 😂 (Slitheryn scarf and wand included!) 😍❤️😂
Janik, you are the big winner for being such a gentleman to Joss!
i totally agree with the fact that the accent shouldn't matter , as long as you can comunicate with other people and they can understand you .
I really do think that keep a native accent it doesn’t have anything to do with your knowledge about a language... on the other hand, I believe that it has to do with keep your origins, like a Brazilian writer says:
“Ela faz questão
De conservar as suas origines
Observe bem
E você notará
Um sotaque de amor”
or
“She causes struggles
To preserve its origins
Look closer
And you will notice
A love accent”
Speaking another language it could be very difficult at the beginning, but I admire you Joss. I’m sure that native speakers congrats you because you’re so good in English (and Janik too) you don’t have to prove to anyone, just to yourself...
The way you confront all the negative the comments whit so much fun makes me admire u even more.
Keep doing it girl, you will go far...
P.S. sorry about my limited English but I think I forgot English when I started to learn Portuguese
Hugs from México!
I love you accent, Joss 💖
Accents are beautiful...both of your accents are great.
Your English is amazing! Both of you really speak it well.
Both of you have excellent English speaking skills. I'm impressed with your knowing 2 languages and now learning a third.
How do people hate her accent?, I love her accent, it’s so beautiful
