I started officially as a buyer's agent with KW and although I loved the trainings and culture of the office place, I can agree that it can be a distraction. I am very grateful for the humble beginnings with the brokerage... I ended up taking some time away from the business to work on physical and mental health.... not wanting to talk to people isn't a good feeling to have in Real Estate (lol) but now that I am back and stronger than ever, I feel eXp is a good next step for me.... postcovid lifestyle doesn't make sense to go back to the old brick and mortar model. This is the future, like it or not
AJ, I respect the time, effort and energy you put into your video. And I get that the goal is to recruit new agents, but it feels to me like this video is less even-handed and balanced than it could be. I know that I would be much more effected by hearing the pro and cons of both sides. In every profession I know, recruiting those that will "survive" and then "thrive" has everything to do with ensuring they are excited about the "good" and willing to work to overcome the "bad." I'm sure you would rather dedicate your time to recruiting those most likely to thrive at EXP and stay in your pyramid/down-line and recruit for years to come themselves, right? It's a good, professional video. You obviously put in solid time in writing, practicing, and executing your script, honestly it shows that you prepare well and were trained well. Additionally, that view is stunning behind you...I trust that your solid production skills displayed in this video benefit your real estate clients in the staging and marketing you execute to get them top dollar. Absolute best of luck with your recruiting efforts, but I genuinely believe (and this is not shared by all my KW brothers and sisters) that genuine talent is attracted to genuine leadership i.e. sharing the good with the potentially bad. Again, good luck!
Hey, thanks for the thoughtout message. This was actually shot real quick in my backyard with some general thoughts I had on the two. I would be curious to hear what your point of view is on KW that I missed. I produced at a high level at both firms and don't think I missed anything important.
Im studing the first course Principles now..i hope i can pass the state exam soon..i have one question ..EXP training all by webinars ? I would love ..not to go to the office..i would apreciate more my broker to be online ..anyone can clarify me how EXP works for a new agent trainings? From Bakersfield .Ca
Agreed, both companies are good. I started with KW and moved to EXP as it aligned more with me. Just know who you are and what you value and need from a company and block out the noise as everyone's got an "opinion".
Does eXp help with leads? That’s my biggest fear in becoming a Real estate Broker and before people come telling me it’s an agent in Illinois it’s called a broker 😭
BOLD was such a great course!! I really enjoyed it, Both great companies for sure but my situation is really similar to yours spent a few years a KW and loved it, now I'm at exp and also love it!
Hey! I'd love to hop on a call and answer any questions you might have and show you how I can help you build your real estate business. Email me aj.mida@exprealty.com
In Spain where I am.. The clients really care about the office. That's one of the issues I had when I was for two years working on my own. So I decided to go to Keller Williams. Exp seems interesting but this is something to sort out right now
Watch out for these brokerages! Even if you don't help a single person buy or sell a house, brokerages still expect you to pay hundreds of dollars in coaching fees. Training and coaching isn't free. It's very expensive to be a realtor. You're constantly spending money on marketing, coaching, and association dues. And if you're a new agent, with hardly any leads, this is not a situation to be in. This is why so few people last in real estate. They run out of money trying to make money! It's a sales/commission only job for someone who already has a high-paying job to support their real estate business AND a strong network of associates, friends, and family.
Depends honestly. If you need a office to work out of everyday with a people around then KW. If you are a self-starter and do fine working from home or a co-working space then eXp.
Two VERY different models. Want to recruit? Exp is a better option early on. Want to sell real estate? Keller Williams is a better business model for Realtors. My $.02.
If you get paid when people below you sell a home, isn't this an MLM? It sounds like Beachbody, Lularoe.... all of those pyramid schemes. That makes me hesitant to work with someone from eXp. I was just looking up what it was because I wanted to work with someone with eXp but if this is Mary Kay/Avon/Lularoe but for real estate... not sure about that.
Think of it like a royalty fee. For example, if you wanted to use Nike in a promotional video you need to pay the company for using their branded logo because that logo is what is honestly generating attention. This is the same with a real estate firm or brokerage, when you work for eXP you are using their branding that other people specifically go for when they want to sell their home. You are essentially benefiting off the brand name of the firm or the person you are working under which is why you would have to pay them sort of a royalty.
EXP basically takes half of the cap ($8000) and distributes it back to it's agents. I like this model because it's way less competitive and you want to see your partners succeed as do the agents you sponsored me so there is so much sharing going on eg. live classes. It's a win win. Also, you don't have to attract agents at all, just stick to selling real estate as EXP has some of the most top producing agents in North America and guess what... they are all approachable and available if you wanted to reach out to them! Remember we are a real estate company first, the agent attraction (not recruiting) is something you can do on the side or not do at all. But really why wouldn't you? Reach out to me anytime at dale@forsalebydale.ca. Best wishes.
That's the entire real estate business for any company. You can't be a broker for 2 years, you literally are forced to be "under" someone and make them money by you making sales. With EXP you have that opportunity to have residual income rather than rely on only sales of your own.
@Cesar Sells Real Estate so you must pay the cap before you start earning your own commission ? Just figuratively speaking say the cap is $10,000. You have to pay that off with either 1 or multiple sales to accumulate that $10,000 before you can start earning your own commission ?
How can you take these reviews seriously when they are canned, prepared frameworks by the company that current employees can use to pitch the company? Not cool.
Hey man! What do you mean by canned? Yes it is prepared because I took the time to prepare but this is my experience with both companies and employees at exp don't "pitch" exp.
You convinced me it's a perimad scheme. I don't remember you every mentioning that this was good for your clients. You talked a lot about recruiting agents and getting passive income of them. No Thanks
hello brand new licensee my buddy invited me to a lunch in for exp and i was instantly sold on it being my first brokerage super glad im choosing it for it being my first brokerage here in jacksonville, florida. also got hooked up with one of the top producing agents as my mentor and he instantly added me on his team. super excited to hit the virtual classes and get my business started!

I would love to hear what you think! Any thoughts on what makes one of these brokerages better over the other?

Well said.
Would you say exp realty is good for a college student ?
I am in the same situation. Trying to find a brokerage firm to join part-time mostly to shadow and train while in school full-time
For sure. It's good for any Realtor.
I used moved my whole team over to exp. is there a comparison with ReMax. I’m trying to bring over another team.
Good job. I have never worked at remax so I never made a video on it.
You mentioned you built a team at Keller and eXp. Do you have to be a broker for this or can it be done as a real estate agent?
yeah as a re agent you can build a team. don't need to be a broker
Where can I find video
What one?
Thanks for posting this. I was trying to compare KW with EXP, and this video was very helpful.
Did you ever choose? I’m in the same dilemma
@@daisyxjasmin I would be happy to have a chat if still looking at eXp

it doesn't

You get a lead gen platform as part of the monthly cost.
No brokerage helps with leads however, teams do. And it also depends on how you define help? Giving you leads or generating your own leads.

Where can I enroll with EXp? And if he Real estate a good career to enter now? Thank you an advance!
do you have a video on the residuals and passive income you speak about?
Looking to join a good upline that will help me build a bigger business. Any suggestions
How can I help you?

I couldn't disagree with this more.
I am a new agent. Is it normal to have a cap of 50k in nyc? I thought that was high but not sure.
Which would you say is better for a brand new agent
Depends honestly. If you need a office to work out of everyday with a people around then KW. If you are a self-starter and do fine working from home or a co-working space then eXp.
I am on the edge of picking a brokerage to hang my lisense at, I am in Austin TX
Cool! I'd love to chat! Shoot me an email at aj.mida@exprealty.com
Doe EXP allow dual licensed agents originate their own files? I have my NMLS and going for my DRE.

That's a great question. However, this is literally how all real estate brokerages work. When an agent sells a home the person "above" them gets paid.

Ok the background is beautiful..is that a hotel or private home??
You no not know KW well. I started with them in 1997 in Dallas, TX. Not a good company for agents.
?
Thank you for that office confusion I had as a potential new agent.
You're welcome
When my wife and I bought our house we never went to the realtor's office.

"perimad" schemes are illegal. This is not a pyramid scheme.
It's a bonus after expenses.
