1 in 100 packs - That's a serialised card in every 8.3 boxes - or about two cards in three cases. There are 63 artifacts with 500 serialised copies. That's 31,500 total serialised cards. At 1% that means the Brother' War print run is about 3,150,000 collector boosters. Or roughly 260k boxes
Even if they printed 350k boxes, it's still an average of 1 out of every 12 boxes
@@jamescunningham965 Yeah, but we KNOW the number of serialised cards. So if they printed more packs, then it would drop below the 1% mark. It's just an approximate anyway, but statistically you should get at least 1 in two cases and might get 2 if you open 3 cases and 1 box

I only bought 1 booster and got a serialized card on my first and only collector pack. 275/500 Door to Nothingness :)
Someone at my LGS opened a serialized card and made an announcement want it while waiting for the Pre-Release to start. Unfortunately the card somehow went missing by the end of the night. From what I heard it was in a hard case in his pocket and at some point in the night he noticed it was missing. Very sad day for that gentleman.

I opened my first collector booster pack ever and I got a Chromatic Star 097/500 and I didn't even know about the numbered set until the people at the game store were like... no here's a sleeve and a hard sleeve protect it!
Same actually. I decided to buy a pack out of convenience and ended up getting Runechanters Pike 058/500. Honestly was wanting to sell it off the rip because I'm not much of a collector myself

I got a case and opened 1 and got a serial runechanter Pike! also pulled 2 foil portal to phyrexia one extended and both style Mox ambers. Was best box ive ever opened.
Pulled psychosis crawler 492/500 last gift box opening, so I am wishing anyone else luck with getting a serialized!
I opened 40 collector boxes, hit 5 serialized and 2 shatterfoil transformers.

Great videos as always Joey! I bought two set boxes and a bundle for myself and opened them up. And I must say something feels off in these boxes. Let me explain.
OK so I'm a standard guy, I like to buy boxes and get a sweet card pool from the new set to build from. Set boxes have been a great source for that with double, triple and even more rares/mythics in a pack.
But this set is different. I counted up rares and mythics like this:
2 set boxes, 1 bundle:
68 set boosters that gave:
124 rare+mythics (2 box toppers, 1 bundle topper)
30 Mythics:
19 mythics as Oldschool frame(8), list(3) or transformers(8).
11 mythics from the Brothers War set.
94 Rares:
29 Rates as Oldschool frame (22),list (4),Commander(3).
65 rares as Brothers War (2 box toppers and 1 bundle topper)
48 non brothers of War rares and mythics.
76 Brothers of War rares and mythics.
38.71% of the rares and mythics where non BoW cards.
Now, that is alot of mythics and rares sure. But 38.71% of them all where non-standard cards and alot of the rares i got where the same ones giving me a very weird limited pool of cards.
With that in mind I started to think what the aim is with the set boxes of this set and in the future? Is every box going to be like this with some weird random transformers (that I absolutely don't want, I really don't get why they take up space and mythics..) and a large sum of the cards not standard legal?
Don't get me wrong, sure cool to pull wurm coil engines and mox Amber, ramos and such. But would perhaps be better in some other set on the side and not in these boxes.
Ah well maybe it's just me. What do you think Joey? I know you just crack packs to chase the bling but can you understand where I'm going with this and from where?

A person at the prerelease bought a single collector pack and got a 100 serial number card

I still haven't pulled a star scream I'm going to sleeve up my transformer cards and hang them up. They are a big part of my childhood and I can't use them in decks as much as I want to lol. This set is amazing.

If there's 1% chance per pack of finding a serialized card, you'd need to open 70 packs to have a 50% chance of finding one. That's about six boxes. Counter-intuitive? Yes, but that's how probability works. With only three boxes, 36 packs, your chances of finding a serialized card are only 30%.
The mythic distribution in this set is insane. Got my bundle in the mail today and pulled 8 mythics out of 8 packs.
The serialized cards should have a wild unique frame, like kaladesh inventions. They just aren't that special.

Honestly in my opinion it's great, there's some great reprints that are now becoming affordable and they make for fun limited shenanigans
I agree my friend. I wanted to do 5 color artifact edh deck and the transformers PLUS all the artifact reprints made it doable because I had none of these artifacts before hand like sundering Titan, or Ramos, or Mox amber, or ashnods altar

The cracked glass foils are nowhere near scarce is the number cards since the number cards each one is only 500. Cracked glass foils Are somewhere at least a 1000 print.
I highly doubt that. More along the lines of 100-200 copies of each. Based on what you said that still makes Shattered Glass foils more scarce. Consider the fact more serial number artifacts were made than Shattered transformers. There's only 14 different individual Shattered Glass Transformer cards. Hella more artifact #'d cards. Think about it
It’s 1% for the majority. Upon preorders there is evidence for “juiced boxes” being opened by content creators without their knowledge to make the reactions genuine when a sought after card is hit. This has happened for years now.

The differance between Sports cards and MTG is magic wasnt designed to fit the serial and you 100% can not put it on the back most sports cards seems to put them on the back and have a spot designed for it as every set is new design. The simple answer since they are starting with artifacts is dont put on creatures fitting it on the type line as you only have artifact and the set symbol on it so there is room for the numbers.

I cracked a serial numbered Gilded Lotus and it is a beaut.
I still don't know how a single auction is that monumental. Not only is the auction most likely made to artificially generate hype (which has a long history of happening), but who knows if the final bidder's even going to pay up. Also, even if this auction is 100% genuine, the price is entirely due to the limited nature of 30th Anniversary product on the market now. This auction does not represent what people will be getting when listing this product once all the 30th Anniversary product is pushed out to market.
The fact that these Moxes are "going" for more than vintage CE/ICE copies with their mangled art & appearance really makes me suspect about these prices.
Lol the transformer cards are already hitting bulk. The singles prices are atrocious for the retro frame artifacts. They look pretty, especially the schematics, but damn, I feel like unless you hit the serialized card, 210-250 for a collectors box is an absolute hosing most of the time.

Damn that’s a lot of overprinted cardboard. With people having access to these kind of numbers why do they keep overpaying for collectors boxes? The value on these would tank if more whales didn’t keep buying them in groves supporting Wizards to allow them to print this much. Little do investors know that these collectors boosters will never have long term value because they are printed to oblivion
Best time to buy singles now is roughly between 1-2 weeks of prerelease. The shills on TH-cam cracking packs flood the market and drop the price. Already bought playsets of the artifacts in foil both regular and schematic for pennies on the dollar. 48 copies of each. I'm set for the next investment.

I don’t get the hype for the serialized cards. It would be one thing if those 500 cards were actually unique artwork, but it’s just an arbitrary number put on 500 of cards that were actually printed in large quantities. Not to mention it looks bad. It’s dumb IMO. The foil shattered glass transformers is where the real collectible value is at.
