I have used your progress as a starting point for what I may do when I start building my animatronic, (although mine will be pneumatic) and your videos have been the only one showing how the neck would be done
It's always good to encounter these problems in testing rather than in field. All of these problems are somewhat easy to solve so that's good. I still recommend larger motors to actuate the endo and the head. Keep up the great work and I wish you luck. - RadioMan
@@technofursThat's great, I just wanted to remind you that the endo needs to support the suit over it early into production. I myself have had problems with fixating on making one peice work on a project and not looking at the whole picture. That's why I always use the MaxMin strategy when building things. MaxMin is where you maximize every aspect of the project quality and slowly decrease the quality and or complexity of the item in question untill you've reached the bare minimum. It's also called engineering but I prefer MaxMin because when people think of engineers, they think of people creating the strongest things possible, and while we specialize in using our resources to the best of our abilities, we go for just good enough to save money. As best said by Ronnie Neville, "A dollar saved is a dollar earned". I wish your days be many and your woes few. -RadioMan
@@Naridom i guess that's the strategy i'll have to use! I'll be on a somewhat tight budget, so reducing the complexity to save some pennies? I am into that! The fun thing is designing the whole thing to be accurate and functional at the same time, while respecting contraints. A pure delight!
Test results:
-neck materials too fragile
-head needs to be re-printed
-the head cannot be turned on for more than at max 30 minutes

Yep, I've already got some ways to fix things up. Unfortunately I cannot change the motors yet, but I will upgrade the head as time goes!
