    I bought one of those from Bladehq when they had the copper liner with green micarta and blackwash D2. I thought it looked pretty cool you are spot on with the liner lock being a little annoying to disengage but I like it anyway. It sits in my suit coat so nicely. Just a handy little knife. I still want that AD20.5 though. 🙂

      The CRKT Crossbones has the exact same issue. They say its a function of it being new, and that with more use...its loosens up

      I know all the models and specs but have never actually held one weirdly.. I always imagine them thick and round like a cigar.. am I right or are they thinner than I’m thinking?
      I’d want the tumbstub og one.. what’s the point if it has a flipper? Not many pens have a metal flipper.

      @@Errcyco the CRKT CEO is quite a bit smaller than a cigar unless you're thinking the smaller Swisher Sweets small cigars. I would compare it in size to a regular fine point Sharpie pen in thickness. They are really not too big. Cool design though.

    The CEO. Just barely good enough to cut it, but excellent at backstabbing.

    I actually just bought one it's actually a very good knife I got smaller hands for a guy so this size is great I work in retail right now while I'm in college and it's so small that it fits anywhere very conveniently and it works great for everyday use like he says in the video great for boxes or tape or cutting plastic wrap on pallets it's the definition of a quick simple useful knife

    I have one and have carried it frequently for over a year. I am a research engineer and it is a great office/lab knife. It is great for cutting electrical tape and zip ties. Works fine opening boxes and envelopes. Heavy use? No. Not enough handle for grip.

    • @Errcyco
      @Errcyco 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I find these thin drop points hard to use any real amount of the blade on any one thing naturally. Anywhere I’d use this style, I’d prefer a sheepsfoot I think. That blade style just works fantastic for EDC tasks.

    I have a CRKT CEO, and I started to have lockup issues within a few months.
    Not really a fan of the tip down only clip, and the sharpness of the cutout where the thumbstud is.

  • @HighCRI
    @HighCRI 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    While it doesn’t appeal to me, I can see why some folks would like it. Aside from some people just preferring an ultra low-profile carry, there’s others that have something like hypersthesia where their senses are on overdrive and carrying big stuff drives them crazy. This is an okay option for folks in that situation.

    I have the Samior GP035 in M390, and it's actually even nicer than this, but it's an exposed framelock. I use it for one thing and one thing only, a thing for which it is PERFECT: as a letter opener.

    • @48mastadon
      @48mastadon 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've got the same. When I got mine it had bad lock stick. I notified Samior and without even asking for the defective knife, they sent me a new one which arrived the very next day. I question if the blade steel is M390, but damn, their customer service is amazing.

      @spdcrzy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@48mastadon Mine has lock stick too, but honestly I don't give a shit lol. I use it to open mail every single day. And yeah, I seriously doubt it's real M390, but the blade is razor sharp.

  • @lcect
    @lcect 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The CEO is a great office carry knife, but being just over 3" on the blade makes it illegal for a lot of people. They make a CEO Compact that would work if your blade limit is 3". The Buck Decatur goes the other way with a longer, 3.5" blade and an extra ounce of weight, making it a similar profile but more substantial knife. The Decatur is in 7Cr steel, however, which is a bit of a step down.

    I'm not sure if everyone has that one knife that's always nearby, and gets the job done. It's not your favorite knife, its not your EDC, it's not what you'd expect to be your most used knife. For me, that knife is the CEO. It lives in a kitchen drawer that's pretty much in the center of my house, and I use it for almost everything. I carry a UTX-85 as my edc sometimes I find that the CEO is up to every task even when my UTX isn't. It's pointyness is more useful than I ever would have expected.
    If anyone reading this is looking into getting one, I recommend getting the stainless over the D2. There are better D2 blades you can get for the same price or cheaper. For me, this knife gets dirty and gets a wipe down kinda often, so the stainless trait of the original is more practical than the edge retention of the D2.

  • @pinkeye00

    It's "discrete" ... that's the point. Unfortunately you get a LITTLE user discomfort. love it though.

  • @XFS540

    They were on the right track making this into a tip-up flipper, but they should have made it with a tanto blade. It would have looked more evenly proportioned with the handle.

    I kinda like it, but I can't deal with single thumb studs. The asymmetry drives me insane. The general idea is pretty comparable to the Civivi Exarch--which I greatly prefer--although this one is definitely even more inconspicuous.

    I'm no snob or big shot. I bought one of these on Amazon under another name for less than sixteen dollars and it's a fine knife at a bargain price. Be realistic and don't expect a 500.00 knife for this price. Being too critical is being stupid.
