  • the beatles xmas recording on October 17 1963 and released on December 6 1963
The first Christmas recording from the Beatles featured several renditions of the traditional carol "Good King Wenceslas" and individual messages from the four, ending with a closing chorus of "Ricky the Red-Nosed Ringo".[1] This offering, as well as 1964's, appears to be largely scripted. An edited version of this recording was sent to members of the Beatles' American fan club in December 1964. The recording was also included as an unlockable bonus in the video game The Beatles: Rock Band and was made available as a free download from the iTunes Music Store between December 23, 2010, and January 9, 2011.

I was only 5 in 63 but remembered that my 11 year old sister got this record as a present. The sound of Paul wimpering like a dog made me giggle & falling asleep Christmas night w/this record playing. Thank's for the flashback! :)

I was 2 in '63 but didn't hear these until I was 19 on a bootleg LP with plain white labels and a big "1" and "2" written on them with magic marker.

Lovely to hear young lads having fun and obviously slightly overwhelmed at the way things are going for them. I think you can also hear the influence of the Goon Show, especially on John, with his word play.

Yes they ARE! But people keep taking them off TH-cam. I had to dig for this one and 1966 is gone! Hopefully someone will put it back!

George and John didn’t believe in god they believed in the universe and a higher force I’m not sure about Paul or Ringo but I’m sure there’s wasn’t that far off. God doesn’t just suit anyone mate if that’s what ur implying not everyone has to believe in ur made up fantasy even though a lot do.

As a believer in the universe and higher forces I can comfortably say nothing would’ve been different for the fellas and nothing would’ve changed. In the end history will always prevail with the truth and in this case their choices on what they believe are the truth AND THE RIGHT TRUTH MATE.
