Let me clarify further, an "Old School Democrat" is an FDR Democrat that stands up for the working class. I grew up in Ohio where small towns were absolutely devastated by the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs over 3+ decades and small farms were forced to sell to big agribusiness. I've been living in western Wisconsin for a few years now, and I am SUPER proud to have the opportunity to vote for Rebecca Cooke. She is absolutely the sort of person we need in Washington to actually represent us rather than rule us. We need more waitresses, farmers, real working class people sitting at those tables where decisions about OUR lives are made.

The reason we stopped having people like this is because our states’ education funds are getting slashed all around the country, so that the average person doesn’t even learn how our government functions. Classism and good ole fashioned racism. They wanted to make sure the low wage workers were reliant on their betters. Waiters and waitresses should not make a sub minimum wage. They should be paid a normal hourly along with their tips at the least.
My mom was alone in raising me and my sister. The best paying employment she could find was a job as a waitress working 12 hour shifts. We were able to make it by due to winter tourism but we mostly lived in poverty. Employers have to make up any tipping shortages but quite honestly it's cruel how unstable the career is given how hard waitresses work. If a field of work makes the excuse that they can't pay their employees a proper wage then they shouldn't fucking exist.

Should have pushed Larry on which Trump era policies he liked.

Prop 1 on the ballot in Maine is doing that in Maine. We need more states to do it because Congress won't.

I'd be willing to bet that Larry is a devout Christian, likely a Catholic. Trump's justices overturned Roe, which is a huge deal in Christian circles. He also didn't start any new wars and negotiated the end of the Afghanistan War. And inflation wasn't at 40 yr highs.
      You're welcome.
