Maybe I'm naive but I have never understood why waiters and waitress are not paid the minimum wage. The amount of tips they receive should not have any bearing on their hourly wage.
Classism and good ole fashioned racism. They wanted to make sure the low wage workers were reliant on their betters. If you didn't get a tip, it wasn't because they were stingy or didn't want to pay for services, it was because you didn't do a good job. Put all the blame on you and not the customer.
Ive never been stupid enough (or that unskilled) to work for a company that pays me $3 an hour. I never tip either because I do not support people that accept companies paying them so little. If you dont have the skills to make more than $3 an hour than you definitely dont have the skills to be in my congress
@Come2Chicago You sound just like the people who wanted tipped wages in the first place. Holier than thou "Well *I* wouldn't do that" so obviously there can be absolutely no circumstance where that is the best option out of a variety of horrible ones.
Waiters and waitresses should not make a sub minimum wage. They should be paid a normal hourly along with their tips at the least. My mom was alone in raising me and my sister. The best paying employment she could find was a job as a waitress working 12 hour shifts. We were able to make it by due to winter tourism but we mostly lived in poverty. Employers have to make up any tipping shortages but quite honestly it's cruel how unstable the career is given how hard waitresses work. If a field of work makes the excuse that they can't pay their employees a proper wage then they shouldn't fucking exist.

Kamala and the Democrats have failed miserably at giving people a reason to vote for them is why. People voted for Obama on the promise of hope and change, and he screwed the people over massively. I'm surprised that anybody is still willing to vote Democrat after that fraud and then the 3 rigged Presidential elections in a row that followed.

Be like Rebecca Cook! Please vote and get her into congress, Wisconsin.
Having grown up in WI with a majority of relatives being dairy farmers this is 100% true. Live in AZ now. Rooting for your win Rebecca!❤❤❤
My great grandfather put Four kids through college running his 40 cow dairy. The fellow down the road has 50,000 cows and thousands of acres of land. This is "Dairy Families of Idaho". His family doesn't even work on the dairy.
I grew up on a beef farm in eastern West Virginia. It's not profitable - the only way my family can still farm it is that my mom is a doctor. I got an engineering degree and had to leave the state because no in-state companies offered me a job.
I love hearing about regular people running for office, hope to see more in the future :)
So the man who lost his dairy farm is going to vote for the man responsible for that? So many ranchers and farmers lost everything many committed suicide. But sure vote for Trump.
I vote we remove all funding for them and send them to Texas. These people need to be removed.
Democrats donors are the ones who own most the monopolies....
Larry never quite said he liked farming.
BINGO...they consistently stick it to themselves by voting for a crooked party. Just blows me away how gullible they are.
Big Ag is protected and enabled by governement.
This young trailblazer has my vote! 🇺🇸🗳️
That old farmer is mind blowing to me… I will vote for this woman because she is like me. I trust her, but in the same breath say he’s voting for Trump. That he really likes JD Vance. How do those two things match.
Cognitive Dissonance....
Super confusing.
@@SmallSpoonBrigadeThey have given every reason to vote for them (Harris-Walz): joy, showing we are all Americans, solid economic policy proposals, and teachers are all for a fellow teacher and coach for VP. Their rallies are packed, with overflow areas like it’s the final round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. 97% of Twitter employees have donated to them, and Newsmax has Harris up over Trump by 15 points. Do keep up, dear. . . And as someone who worked with 3 different legal organizations, starting in 2018, to make sure the 2020 presidential election was secure, I can emphatically tell you from a first hand experience, the election was neither rigged nor stolen-it was the most secure in U.S. history, with a 0.009% margin of error/fraud.
Good question !
The fact is we need a complete overhaul of our food and AG system in the US. Focus on growing actual food instead of yellow dent corn and soybeans. Our subsidy programs are way out of wack and incentivize unsustainable agriculture.
Its blows my mind how can someone vote for and against their interests at the same time.
Stupidity I will call
Sent her $50 for her campaign. Her campaign embodies the ideal of a citizen representative. Wisconsin, please elect her! Send her to Congress where I hope her voice is heard.
AOC was a bartender before landing her seat in Congress. 🤷♀️
And a progressive who pandered to her base and fooled everyone for a while until the mask came off and we realized she sold out. This one says she's a "Moderate Democrat" and talks about being working class but owns a farm and a restaurant. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but I have no trust in democrats anymore.
That does not exactly instill a sense of confidence
@@johnroberts3824Why wouldnt it? They have a better idea of what the average person needs.
@@thezu9250 Yeah, well the average person needs a job but she sure scuttled all the Amazon jobs that were coming her way.

I would vote for Rebeca Cooke , not because I hate the Trump train BS ( witch I do ) , but because she’s not completely detached from the reality that is working 2/3/4 jobs to simply exist in America
Purple districts are fascinating to me. Even more fascinating are republican districts with a single exempt democrat. I grew up in one and Ms. Cooke really reminds me of our democrat. As long as she sticks to her values and doesnt cosy up to the institutionalized democrats she'll do great.
If she doesn't play the political game she'll be primaried or her opponent will get funding.
Finally a human being running for office.
We need the voices of average, working class people in government. I will vote Blue

@@riot-van5986 IKR, often times the Blue candidates are just as corrupt and out of touch as the Red candidates. Don't just vote for the ones that are pushing for the people, hold their feet to the fire if they do win.
I vote for policy as much as for the candidate. Democrats policies better match my wants -- support
of public schools, funding infrastructure, bringing manufacturing back to the U. S., Affordable Healthcare, Social Security, industry monopoly, support of unions, immigration reform. etc..
Djt says he wants to do some of the above, but he did little to nothing when he was in office.

I generally don’t donate to political campaigns. The only thing they get from me is my vote. However I’m going to donate to her campaign. She truly represents America.
doesn't matter which party, if you vote against a working class person, you are voting against yourself.
Yeah, but she's not working class. She owns a multi-million dollar farm. She only began serving a couple of months before she started her campaign. Look at AOC when she first ran and look at her now. At this point the working class is a buzzword they use for votes.
AOC was working class, and look at how well she's done. (Here's a hint, she's been an absolute joke)

This is probably the best video on the election I’ve seen so far
lmfao
I’d say Walz is like the old school democrat mentioned at the end, hes done a lot for the people of Minnesota & they love him.
So the farmer is STILL better represented by the Harris-Walz ticket than anything Trump-Vance are bringing, in terms of their backgrounds and identities.
It hard to believe in 2024 we do not get our old folks dentures so they can eat, talk and feel confident. Or we don’t get them eyewear so they can read, travel ect..
It is a disgrace on our communities. Glad to see we all want to change this
I'm not old just had health problems. Medicaid does pay for eye glasses and dentures. I'm 56 and just got new glasses. I don't want dentures ( I know too many people with trouble) and they wont pay for implants. Problem is they only give you one pair a year. I need Both, glasses for long distance for driving and glasses for close up computer work. They will only pay for one so I choose computer work as I'm in front of the PC more than driving but that does mean.. yep.. I have to drive with not 100% accurate vision. By the time a year is up, my eyes will be worse and I'll have to make that choice again.
Why should we do that for the elderly when the elderly haven't ensured that the young et our medical treatment? It should be about getting everybody the treatment they need, not just the old because of things they vaguely may have done in the past.
It is funny how someone who thinks they are 'middle of the road' would be called an extreme liberal by the MAGA GOP.
I hear corporate, and think monopoly. This is followed by the knowledge that the little guy is taking it in the a$$,again.
Cooke gets it. Corporate greed must be checked.
Hard to feel sorry for someone who votes against their own best interest.
It's shocking so many are - the family down the street with the "End Socialism" and "Trump Forever" signs receives a great many services from the county

It's cheaper to plan a round-trip to Mexico to do your dental work, then it is to engage with the american healthcare system...
there's a term for this: medical tourism. Americans BY FAR do the most medical tourism. It's the opposite of what conservatives claim. In fact, America accounts for about 10% of ALL medical tourism in the world. Canada and Mexico combined I think were like 2%. Yeah...America is THAT bad
Whats wild is that Canada and Mexico have more socialized healthcare. A system conservatives continously claim is more expensive. And yet....when you look around the world, it's cheaper.
