Those are some great crossover grades. I have 60 of the old ANACS holders. Most are Morgan’s and Bust halves. I’m old so I want be trying for regrades. I sent most of them to ANACS and if I remember correctly it was less than twenty dollars to have them graded.
Congrats on the great results. When I've seen ANACS-graded coins cracked out and sent to PCGS (mostly with The Coin Geek), it seems that PCGS will usually cross it over to the same grade at the very least. This leads me to believe that ANACS isn't quite the second-tier grading service people make it out to be.

The toning of the coin did not come from the paper in the plastic slab it came from cardboard holders that were in the old pre 1950"s collection books. the cardboard was treated with certain chemicals that over time left a rainbow effect around the edges of the coins that were in them for long periods of time.
One can get an overall better deal buying ANACS. These three were worth the big bucks to have PCGS grade them, now they can sell for more money, since Coin Collectors believe, in this order: 1. PCGS. 2. NGC. 3. ANACS. 4. ICG. Definitely, if you have a raw coin, and are not going to sell it, get it graded from ANACS, and save some money!
One last question...Do you blv that (when submitting and trying to save as much cost as possible), using a lower USPostalService "insurance" amount, hurts the potential grade - if high grade coins (given that the graders will likely see that you only put, as ex: maybe merely $1,000 of Postal insurance?) Thanks again.
There is a difference between what is insured and what you declare the value as. I don't think insurance has any effect and I think it is unlikely declared value has much effect if any either.

Back in the day Anacs didn't grade much over a 65..Many Morgan's could be had for 65 price.
If you had done it in the holders you wouldn't have gotten the grades. I agree with 2 of the three, on was too busy for the grade, tiny marks

I'm pretty sure that ANACs and ANA holders are known to tone coins as well.
