Both the kessels are ment to be mixed with hot water to disolce sugar and activate the gelatin it has the consistency of unset jello.... Its an odd drink. I think the fruit soup of are thinking of is Kompot which is essentially our version of a fruit punch and is drank cold or warm. The fat in the tushonka is a preservative and you just gotta heat it more till it melts away. Typically it is eaten with potatoes but in this case you could have used those tank tracks as a "bed" and have them softened by the fat. The "chocolate" looks like Hematogen and the riccola drink is actually polish berry tea.
Liking your cameraman and the interactions there. He's by no means trying to steal the show, but getting two people's reaction instead of just one really widens the experience.
I can see my self putting the broth in the kasha as well. That was a huge pouch of SCM. This ration had some cool elements I have not seen but overall would work great for a 24 hr rations. Well done on review Nathan was cool to see new angles and camera work.
As a chef at Disney I developed a "fruit soup" that it took people getting used to then they wanted it all the time. We would only serve perfect strawberries and the rest they would throw away. I hated to waste the extra so I had the staff cull off the tops and throw them in a 5 gallon bucket. Every couple of days the bucket would be filled with less than perfect strawberries and I would then add 2 pounds of extra fine ground sugar and 3 to 5 quarts (depending on how it looked when blended looking for thickness) and I would then take what we called a burr blender - which is nothing but a giant home style stick blender - and blend the entire thing up to a soup consistency and serve it cold. Once people got over the name of "soup" they loved it but I don't think I would ever have a gelled hot soup like you do here
@@ajax54 Actually you are about right except you make it extra thick and sweet...kind of like I enjoy my smoothies. The thing is NO ONE there ever thought of it and they were just wasting the "non-pretty" strawberries. And his was almost 20 years ago when no body knew really what a smoothie was. Here is a test for you. Do you know what goes in an egg cream? Or how about a true chocolate soda? And if you do you are one of the few these days. Look them up they ae good and way out of fad these days ...but then again I am an old fart
Heeeeeyyyyy Buddy :) How I missed your rations, compliments to your co-pilot too :) Say, that thick sugary stuff in the glas-mug on left... think we put it in the fridge, for an hour and it's " Glibber-pudding" lol... jelly sort of :) Once again, cool table-cloth mate :) :)
btw i'm not sure, but the last "chocolate bar" might be "hematogen". It has blood in it and some other stuff, but mostly sugar. You can tell it's made of blood if it has a slight metallic aftertaste. Sound's grim but it's most likely OK to eat. They have at least 5% of cow's blood contained in them. They were made in vast quantities and were sold at pharmacies throughout soviet union to treat anemia for young children.
I like the strawberry drink Kucena drink . Drank it warm. I have tried other flavors of it too. Lots of stuff it that box. Cool having someone else tasting the food too. Those crackers are so hard. Mine always have caraway seeds in them. Not my favorite crackers.
Think you for showing me the mres am going get one I was in the army the year was 1972 to 1978 we never had any mre like the ones you show we call ares k rations I wish we had the mre like the ones you show I injoy watching your videos again think you you and your friends be safe and have a nice day
I like the idea of the wood utensils for environmental reasons, but as for germs on a 24 hour ration they suck. In fact they look like the only thing you could throw away in the field or burn everything else is plastic or metal. I would not want to have to pack out the left over trash from that ( I am a freak about leaving trash behind guess it is from to many days in the field and seeing every thing out there . I have seen places that someone wanted to track you all they have to do is follow the trash
MRE Ultra, not to be confused with MK Ultra. You need to look around the net there are several guides as to what you will probably find in an Eastern European MRE yes Kasha is meat and pearled barley and If made correctly absolutely delicious I wish it was popular here
going to assume the wooded utensils are not normal MRE gear? *well wooden utensils are new to me, but kind of make sense and I heard no real complaints while you used them.
Well they are more environmentally friendly than throw away plastic. Most troops will have their own metal utensils, but they get dropped, lost etc. Starting to see some of the pre-packed lunch boxes having wooden spoons - so why not MREs
the soup is something that you serve hot when it's cold outside, cold for when it's hot outside! some people put other fruit in it but i find that gross.
you should go to Belarus and find a person who speaks the native language and English and have them tell you what everything in the meal is then come back and tell the whole world all about it
Lol this vid has only been out for 17 mins....the video is 30 minutes long. Who the HECK is clicking the dislike so early? Haters are going to run themselves out of energy sooner or later 😂
I pictured a version of Al Borland from Home Improvement without the beard and moustache ( but a really dark 5 o'clock shadow) , but with visible hairs in both nostrils and ears , and browline glasses.
I love how people are being cry babies about the new angle..."giving me a head ache". it pops up for a couple seconds at a time. its not going to kill you. I dont really mind it.

Looked like a great ration, Top camera is good, maybe a little to far out though. Nice to see someone else involved too. Great video.
Needs to be about half as high, and then it will be fine, I think. Good observation.

@@davidvincent1093 I'll be honest, that sounds pretty delicious. I can see why it was popular!
That fruit soup sounds delicious in smaller quantity for at home.... would be great with cantaloupe 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The ingridient list was in Belarusian, but all the food packaging was in Russian. That 's why the translation was poor.
Tobve' to MAT!!!!
Great looking ration, actually. Thanks for taking the time to make the video and post it
That new angle gives me the a headache. Other than the new angle, I like this review. Who is your helper?
Husband, otherwise it wouldn't be smart to share food during covid.
His son maybe? Nephew?
"What does that taste like"
"Seems very familiar"
If you've every seen the movie Hollywood Nights, you'll find that conversation hilarious 😆
Nathan my man! It’s ALL “inner-esting” lmao 😂
Looks like a good one. Gotta give it a try. Wonder how fresh they are?

i ordered an Indonesian ration a while ago, there must have been some sort of mistake as a dog turned up.

That was a fudge.
@@frggdeckkkydexhhgg hopefully since those look exactly like hematogen bar's did, and they also had a consistency of fudge 😂

Hi Nathan, good review! I think I would like this MRE! 👍😎
After seeing diffrent stuff on youtube , anything sweet in eu will taste semi sweet in usa
True
Kisel - it is a drink with starch, popular in kindergarten and elementary school, many people don't like it
I like the fact u translate for us cus I don't speak those languages it is helpful that you do that
Nice! I just did a review on this ration today. I should have my video done in a day or so.

Looks good, at what point do we run out of foreign rations to try out?
I bought this MRE on ebay. I look forward to

subbed for the shared, deep-seated loathing of onions
Mix the Toshanka juice in with your Kasha..the bomb
with the above view, i feel like I am watching the review as Spiderman
Thank you Nathan. That good food would keep you alive in the field.

Man, that's a solid ration. Fruit soups a homerun.
Love fruit loops
this lemon tea in brown package and this two hard crackers is from Poland military ration
Interesting. I'm pretty sure this is the first Bellarussian anything I had seen
I don't understand why people can't prepare all translation before making video? Especially when box is already opened. But overall good video.
I got this ration last year. It was pretty good.
i really like the new set up
Every 24h MRE should include some sugar free chewing gums 😬
What's the app for translating foreign language to English by visual scanning? Very cool app!
Google translate
I would probably enjoy this one
My Russian friends told me that them hard biscuits you soak in hot water
wooden silverware. im laughing so hard RN. hey lets give them a wooden knife XD
LOOKS FANCY, ENJOY..
It actually looks ok that ration
Nice video ☺️
is the fruit soup like a jello, I love hot jello!

The overhead shot, too high!
That is NOT big in Europe, I live there and never heard of it before!
So do I and see it everywhere I go.
Oh man that new angle gave me a headache, I can't watch anymore of your vids if they have that angle in which would be a shame :-(

You hurt the ration's butthole when you said it was interesting, as opposed to 'very special'.
Who's Phillip?
that is not really Belarus ration
so that's what you look like
Looks a delicious ration
I have no idea why but I stopped receiving your videos.
No video just sound
Not liking the new format. Old way was better. Sorry just my opinion. Do what you gotta do though.
Nice having a second opinion.

Go back to old format
