That's a sewer drain marker." True story.
Kitra, you are an inspiration!!! After everything that has happened over the past year and especially after your broken ankle, nobody would have blamed you if you took a step back from the channel and focused mostly or even solely on mental and physical recovery. Instead, it seems you've taken the bull by the horns and went straight at it. You braved your fears over using a wheelchair in Disneyland, you've been to the Star Wars celebration, Comic Con , a cruise and now Disney World. Kudos to you and I also to Peter who I am sure was with you every step of the way. What a comeback! Keep on trucking on the good road!
This kind of reminds me of the old Agent P missions that used to be in Epcot. You would get a phone and go on several different missions that would actually interact with the countries and cause secret things to be physically revealed. I hope they can add even more to this and have the land actually interact even more with the bands, like doors being opened and maybe other noises like in the control panels. Definitely a cool edition to galaxy’s edge.
I remember doing this back when it was Kim Possible themed over 10 years ago and it was one of the most memorable things we did! Wish they would bring it back!
I think this is just a cash grab. The interaction with the statues isn't even that interesting. It would have been better if they made it a bit like Pokemon go. You just need to be next to the statue by gps location, then you need to answer some quiz question about the character or something and if you get it right it plays the noise. I feel like that would be a better sense of accomplishment than just waving at it, but letting you use your phone doesn't sell $40 magic bands.

Even though the interaction with the statues seemed wonky, it's neat. It almost seems like it's still in beta. Love the idea of collecting bounties, but you're right there needs to be a physical reward for X number of bounties collected. A sweet, coffee based adult beverage? Yes please! You two are the best.❤

I think if you visit the parks a lot this is a new thing for people to do. If you don't go often I don't see why you would want to use valuable time to do this. Also the reason Disneyland doesn't have alcohol is just tradition. The only place you can get alcohol in Disneyland is Club 33. You can get alcohol plenty of places in DCA however.
This isn’t necessarily true as both ogas cantina and blue bayou sell alcohol. Disneyland might not be pushing the liquor boundaries but the issue right now is they don’t have permits for people to be drinking outside of restaurants.

I did my Disney college program at Backlot express. Really not a glamorous job to do quick service at Disney but is a good memory nonetheless. Before the wookie cookie we had two amazing star wars cupcakes: a Bb8 lemon cupcake and a darth Vader chocolate peanut butter cupcake. They were sooo good! At the end of the night if I begged my leaders sometimes they would let me have one if I showed them all the “receipts” I got at the end of the night (by filling all the orders at the counter). Thanks for the memories I haven’t seen backlot in years, looks about the same!!

MagicBand Plus and Statues. Long but will make it make sense lol. You don’t need the play app to make the magic happen. Once you walk close your band will vibrate. (You have entered the Bluetooth bubble) then once in front of it wave your hand and you’ll get the status to play its audio clip. To make it play again you need to walk outside of the Bluetooth bubble and back in. (Basically the band had to reregister to make it go off again. It limits to one a a action per band) Be even more careful because if there are multiple people around the statues it can get overwhelmed and not trigger everyone’s bands.
Kitra we're twinsies! I bought the Orange Bird Magic Band+ August 1 at Magic Kingdom. I was freaking people out in Epcot walking up behind them and the statues would play music.

Yes, I watched another video where they spent the credits in Olgas.
You can use credits inside the datapad to buy virtual things but nothing in the land itself
I was just on the Disney store website,the prices go from $19.99 to $49.99, depending on the style, the Star wars ones are the least expensive!
