Great Video, I learnt a lot from this, as I want to start delving into changing drive ratios in the 4 and 5eat, and this helps a lot. I heard from a little birdy that you may be Perth based, is there any truth to that? Either way, thanks for sharing and educating.
No issues in over 1 year of driving this heavy bus over 10,000 kms. Our 5 speed and 6 speed transmissions have been running on the reverse side for 10 years now.
Todd, My project RV does not have enough room for the TY 751 6 speed, at 670 mm in length. I would rather use an automatic, how long is the reversed 4EAT with your new cover plate?
Yes it fits in a T2 bus - we are just finalising testing and mounts for that setup. It doesn't fit a type 1/Manx chassis without cutting through the torsion bar between the IRS pivots and cutting the framehorns off. The auto trans is long and wide.
Hard core "get er done" Gear Head down-under magic. A thing of beauty :O)
Wow that is awesome! Can you tell me the number and type of resistor you are using?
Keep it up guys, this is so awesome!!🔥
this is awesome, one question, does the ring and pinion need to be changed too?
No it doesnt

Would this fit a type 3 or go for a manual subaru gearbox building a 1776 engine with gsxr fuel injection total loss ignition and ecu
the best solution
How well does the ring and pinion hold up with power being applied in the reverse direction.

I need I little more detail on the transmission number.
I have a TZ1B7LCACB-2L

All dimensions are on our website in the Automatic section.
Could this be fit into an earlier year Bus 74-79 or even a Manx on a VW frame. Is the overall length or width a problem.

Will this fit into a type 1 Volks wagon samba bus?
We're not sure. It's a very tight fit. We've got a type 1 bus that we're working on squeezing it in to.
Well anyways your doing amazing things keep up the good work. Keep being a rock star.👍
So the front and rear wheels will spin opposite of each other.....what is the chain for?
Only 2 wheel drive.
