F a n t a s t i c !! You put together a dish which is inline with the present day economy!!!! This is a perfect meal for a family of 4 +. Great episode !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chef Jean-Pierre, I want to thank you for all the things you have taught me over the last few years. I think I was one of your earliest subscribers. You are the best of the best. Your love for the art of cooking shines through on every video you share with us. You have a unique gift of being able to teach like no one else I've seen. I wish you many more years of success and enjoyment. Thanks again!
Do your thang Chef Jean. We here love your videos as is. The TH-cam police are real, but we don’t care about what they say anywhere. You’re Onyon Family got your back big man. 😊
Honestly…love this. There’s no reason to ever turn on mainstream TV ever again. It just can’t compete with what normal people like this are giving us on TH-cam. Thanks for this channel.
This is such a comfort food dish! I can just imagine sitting down in front of the fireplace on a cool autumn day, a nice big piping hot bowl of this, a glass of wine... What could be better or easier! Thank you chef!!! Can't wait to make this!
I think Jack has the best job in the world and he's great at it. He gets to listen to you and watch you create all these wonderful dishes and then he gets to eat them! What a job!
I have been a subscriber for years now and you never fail to teach. Y'know for those of us who will never work in a kitchen it's the little things you do. When you throw a little more oil in the pan that is SO cool. I've been cooking for years so it just made me smile, but for someone learning to cook it's huge. To see a master with over 50 years experience blithely admit he didn't put enougg oil in the pan instantly puts everyone at ease. You're the best Chef. I treasure this channel.
0:56 you give such an enormous pleasure watching you cook. Have made so many of your recipes. Today I told a friend how to use their knives. I learned how to do it by watching you . Thank you so much. Janis McLaren.
I appreciate how you've included tips and tricks throughout the recipe. It shows that you've put a lot of thought into making it accessible for everyone. 🙏👌🥰
Yes Chef JP. I am quite sure that the reason of your success on TH-cam is because you show “the real cooking”. NO CUT. I appreciated this from the first video I happened to watch and for the same reason I overcame the thought that coking was not for me. I am non a chef but I am able now to approach to cooking with less fear.
Yes it is not easy to cook when all eyes are on you. Especially when you are time crunched. You handle it very well. I myself could not do it . I say," everybody out of the kitchen while I cook. " Love this chicken and rice dish. Thank you for the valuable cooking lessons.
I love cooking but, some evenings, after a long day at work and being badgered by our dogs for their evening walk, which I thoroughly enjoy once I overcome the activation energy needed to get going, the thought of cooking a meal can be the furthest from my mind. However, like the dog walk, once I play a Jean-Pierre video and start chopping, I get immersed in the pleasure that his world brings. This was the case last night when I made this hearty dish. I substituted the rice with cauliflower rice so had to add a little flour to thicken it at the end. Delicious!
I love the way chunks of food keep jumping out of the pan and fall out, and as a professional cook I'd say this is the reality of cooking. I always say to the guys I'm training that "gravity is our worst enemy in the kitchen", and it's always there. Absolute respect for your channel Chef Jean-Pierre, I think what you do and the way you present it is truly inspiring, and I love your upbeat and always happy mood. This is all about when cooking. We're doing something nice, and LOVE is always the secret ingredient. Keep it up chef, your testimony of the joy of cooking is amazing!
Friends I made this chicken and rice I followed Chef's recipe and it was just like Chef cooked in my kitchen it was awesome ❤ I wished I made more my wife and I ate it all nothing left
Chef, I would absolutely love to forward you my Cuban family's recipe for Arroz con Pollo a la Chorrera which means like a Cuban style rissoto. Its a well kept secret that needs to come out because I am the last of my family and have no one to pass it on to. There are certain ingredients that my grandmother added that are not traditionally added but hard to decifer what they are. The recipe isnt cheap to make because it calls for real saffron and a real good pinot grigio. I will try to forward you a copy. God Bless! ❤
I love how you put things together and say, "Hey, if you don't have this, leave it out." God bless you Chef, may the Lord give you a lot of joy and peace today.
Ohhhhhhh Mannnnnn! I am cooking this tonight!! I have a busy day and craving some good home cooking. This is just up my ally! My kids are going to love it! Thank you Chef and Jack!
I'm wondering... 🤔 .... After you've browned the chicken, if this is something that can be put in a slow cooker? (Like he did.. adding in the veggies & kielbasa right at the end)....?
@@bearpawz_ yes absolutely. Time cooking at that point wouldn’t really matter give or take a little bit. The only critical part cooking. This is the rice. Not enough, and it will be crunchy, too much, and it will be mushy. This will also be the beginning of a really good other dish, you can make a chicken stew basically the same way minus the rice, serve the chicken stew over the rice afterwards versus cooking it together. If you cook the rice separately in a rice cooker, you could use chicken stock instead of water to get good flavor on the rice and then put your chicken with zucchini, tomatoes and spinach, as a stew poured over the rice. That might be easier for a beginner . Cooking rice in a pot like he did. Definitely takes some practice and experience. I bet either way is really good though.
I'm totally making this tonight! I think I'm going to use Carrots and Celery in place of the squash and spinach. Thanks again for the Inspiration Chef JP!!!
Thank you for adding the entire process from beginning to end. I prefer live from beginning to end...without cuts. It's why I watch every episode. Is there a way I can get your autograph? Maybe a book for my library? Thank u for making me smile every week.😊
As a person recovering from a bad case of bronchitis, this recipe hits the spot!!! Chicken and rice....here I come (I'm adding an extra onyo for my grandmother)!! Thanks again chef Jean Pierre 👍 ❤
Hi !! Chef Jean Happy Wednesday watching replay. Wow the chicken and rice 🍚 looks delicious. Yes Chef Jean this is a simple recipe . I like one pot meal with every thing in it . The sausage will give it a good flavor. This reminds me of Jambalaya when you added the sausage. Chef you are so amazing just live your cooking shows thank you for sharing. Ha e a great night 🌙 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍💯💯⭐️⭐️
Very easy and very healthy, absolutely amazing. Now I keep bringing up things from Brasil, well I am from Brasil, but been in the US for over 30yrs and I cook what I mostly ate in Brasil. This dish for example, if Chef Jean-Pierre added more stock, it would be a soup and yes my grandma made a lot of it. Now, lets assume some of you here are Brasilian or Latino and eat rice, beans and any meat of your choice and you have left overs. Where I lived in Brasil my grandma used to make something we called a michido, similar to this dish in a way and also easy to do. Depending on the amount of left overs, fry some eggs really well, chop it up in small pieces, add the left over meat until it gets hot, add the beans, add the rice and if you think it is too wet add some Farinha de Mandioca. I like to add a nice amount of black pepper, but add whatever seasoning and herbs you like. Call it a poor man's dish, but it is delicious and oddly I've seen many so called poor man's dish in fancy restaurants lol. Does Peasant food ring a bell and if anyone has ever been to a Brasilian restaurant, how was the Feijoada? This amazing Chef keeps bringing up the best memories of when I lived in Brasil, thank you Chef Jean-Pierre once again and Jack you are doing a nice job with everything else, thank you both.
Chef, your commitment to uploading these visual recipes is absolutely amazing. Our 'Onyo Emperor' never disappoints! edit: the candid endings to the vids are great
Me too! I also don't drink before work! God bless You and your team! Thank You for these nice videos that teaches us how to cook and keep our spirits high (not just spirits in bottle, hi). Best Regards.
Bonjour Chef. You made a great recipe today and you also made me laugh so much during this video. I think I never seen you like this, were you in a hurry to go the market or something ? You seemed such in a rush there, Chef. Zuccini flying on the floor, you talking so fast, the forks jumping out of the pot of "ustensiles" and finally the testing moment, so , so, funny. Oh lala. I just love you Chef, there is no one like you on the Tube for sure ! Much love and appreciation your way and many thanks for this lovely recipe. - Rosalind - (At one point I did think, perhaps Chef is practicing for this Tic, Tac, Toc channel LOL LOL LOL LOL that is why he seems such in a rush LOL LOL - just kidding!)
Love the outtakes 😂😁 and also the recipe ofcourse! Will be showing this one to my mom, as she always has an army to feed. Recipes like this are perfect for that! ❤
Chef JP, you’re a true master, a great chef and a superb teacher; and I love your recipes!!! Thank you so much for giving us a one pot meal too. Chicken is always a great go to option for a quick dinner. Will try this one tonight. You’ve certainly deserved that restorative glass of Chardonnay.
Yo, Chef JP is the funniest dude ever!!🤣🤣🤣. Between the fingers, bugged eyes, and accent, I ain’t know whats funnier🤣🤣🤣. Love it!!! People think I went to school when I do his recipes!
