  • Gearbox Labs presents the second part of the Tinkercad CIrcuits Force Sensor project with an LCD and the conversion of the raw output of the sensor into pounds and Newtons.

    Is there kg counterpart formula instead of pounds? I tried to convert it but the approximation is too far.

      Yes - Divide the Newton Value by 9.8 - this is the acceleration due to gravity.

    My force value stays at 0. Why doesn't the led turn on? :(

      HI LG - it is probably a wire not in the right place. First take a look at each wire to make sure each is connected correctly.

      We analyzed the data of the relationship between the output captured by the analog pin and the displayed value in Newtons. We used a spreadsheet to create the best fit curve. This curve is a logarithmic relationship. We then solved for the Newtons in the best line (really curve) and plugged it back into the code. The equation you see is the result of the algebra we did. This was confirmed by Tinkercad. The real project will probably have a different relationship, but this works in Tinkercad. Hope this helps.
