  • If you hate leaks like we hate leaks, you'll appreciate this tutorial which shows you how to disassemble a tie rod hydraulic cylinder. At EA, this has always been our preferred cylinder style for our Wicked Grapples, because of how simple and easy to maintain it is, with no special tools required. If your cylinder is seeping and showing an oily residue around the rod area, it may just need to be cleaned like this one did. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.

    Informative, thank you.
Did the cleaning resolve the leak?
Did you pressurize it and cycle test the actuation to verify?

Cleaning may not resolve all leaks, because obviously it depends on if the seal has been damaged, but it did resolve this one's leak and we did test it under pressure, to verify. Thanks for watching and commenting!

So whats the fix? Only taking it apart and cleaning it off? Surprised you didnt throw new seals in it while its apart?

I think he said in the video that they had gone through it the day before. I think this was just a recheck so Travis documented it to show the process of what to do should you have the same issue.

@@JTFireman24 Oh ok, I must have missed that part, explains why there was no oil in it.

Hey Ronnie. We do not, but I have sold many Wicked grapples to guys who messed up and bought one of those hydraulicless grapples first, thinking they'd save money and not have to get a 3rd function kit. A real grapple is Superior. The full lineup is here www.everythingattachments.com/Tractor-Root-Grapples-s/10568.htm
