How wonderful it is to watch this webinar! James Baxter's work has been a such a big influence on myself as an artist and animator, and getting to see him in his element is truly a privilege. His process feels almost oddly organic (in a good way), compared to others I've watched who has an almost mechanical way about things, but I really enjoy this approach of very much "feeling" the motion. And what a pleasant-seeming guy as well! Thank you all for taking the time to make this happen. :D What a treat!
Most TV shows are 30-40 seconds a week (2D digital puppets). At least they used to be. I once turned down a job that had a quota of 60 seconds a week. Shows like Green Eggs and Ham had much more reasonable quotas like James mentioned.
The fact that we can sit here and watch this master animator work is incredible. This is invaluable.
James is a master of animation
I don't knew that a horse could animate so well.
*frantically flips through rulebook looking for a rule that a horse CAN’T animate
What an interesting process. It's not at all what I thought it would be. Your brain works in a fascinating way.
James is a genius
