Seriously cool piece of kit. The front/rear shaft locks are clever. You could see 'the tide coming in' at 8:05 - maybe add a small trash/vacuum pump to keep the pit clear?
Great Machine, A good shot. Impressive. A comment: SAFETY FIRST! bending over in an 8-foot hole with standing water in the bottom in sand & cobble condition is like digging and stepping into Your own grave. Setting up shoring slows down production for sure but a dead man in the hole will sink Your business and all You investments, not to mention the loss and grieve for the People Who love You the most.
@Heiko Dzierzon - Also "if" companies who manufacture such devices made the control levers longer/taller or provided extensions (or the owner added longer/taller control levers), then the operator could run the equipment without constantly remaining hunched over, thus working smarter, not harder or less safe. Slightly longer/taller control levers would actually reduce the operator's time spent in the hole/trench all together. Ergonomics is important and it's a shame ergonimics is not more of a priority in engineering school and/or manufacturing.
Can you make a video on how you set the machine to hit a certain target including what you need to do to keep the drill bit in the right direction while drilling
Great video. Good to know/consider all options! Anyone by chance know the approx cost/foot break down that a small directional boring run/job like this would likely cost(?) Lots of awesome alternative construction videos on yt but few if any mention costs involved :( On a side note... would like to see a follow-up video showing how directional accuracy of the bore/hole is accomplished!
