- Hey All! Sorry for the huge delay in posting. I have been extremely busy this summer working in the marine industry, making money to fix up the boat to keep adventuring! I recently made a website where I am selling InTooDeep T-T-Shirts to help support my travels! I also made a Patreon. If you would like to support my work and travels check it out!

Thanks for watching! -Gus

Hi There,
I am a retired senior who just sold his last boat recently due to physical restrictions and I had to tell you that your video's are not only the best content I've seen in a long time, they also give me the same type of enjoyment I had boating all my 25 years.
Keep up the good work.
What type of boats did you own ?
@@dougnashzhe has no clue. About anything…
@@tylermarier2034???
You were born in the wrong century. Or at least you were a 1970s kid in another life. Wish there were more like you - drive and a sense of adventure, and epic taste in music.
Mom grew up in the 70’s dad in the 60’s 😊
masyer chef 1976 too 2006 kobg trips
What material you used to put on the wood varnish?????@@SuperSk8rmom
He is an old soul he has the wisdom and hustle of somebody in his late 60s . I do marine repair for a living and he blew my shit out of the water and I am in my late 60s I never worked in inboards I am a desert rat
If Coldplay is your definition of "epic taste in music" then I feel bad for you... 😂 There's more good music being made now than ever, but for some reason people like you can't figure out how to find it. Contrary to what you say, 50 years ago young people were much less likely to be able to gather the info necessary to renovate a boat like this unless they were born into it. If it weren't for the internet, he'd be much more likely to end up slaving away in a factory somewhere with no path for upward mobility.
I'm a Mainer who lives in Southwestern Tennessee now, I lived in Lewiston Maine from 1978 to 2007. My heart goes out to my four friends that were tragically killed in that senseless shooting in Lewiston Maine a few days ago and to the other 13 families that lost their loved ones my prayers are with you!
Condolences to you on the lost of your friends.
@@bahamasking2063thank you I appreciate it
I been in Lewiston few times last year and im from mass. Breaks my heart it happened there
@@tonytrumble Welcome
I am sorry, a loss of family or friends is hard enough but to such a way makes it that much more difficult sorry again love and peace from Ct
This is the stuff I like to see.
Everyone else does yacht tours and tells you how great it is to be on the water, and that's great, but you actually took us there with the weather and everything,
great video.
This just proves the quality and reliability of the 12v Cummins
Welcome back Gus! You're opening statement made me laugh LOL so don't beat yourself up too bad. You don't need to be a slave making us TH-cam videos even though we love them but you do have a life to live and don't have that much free time when you have to work for a living. But your timing is perfect today, I really needed this, so thank you❤
Gus Dude. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us all! Very cool journey to say the least!! Your Hatteras is a ROCK for sure!! However, it is YOUR perseverance and awesome hard work that makes this an awesome sea worthy Yacht for sure!! Cannot wait to see the part 2. You are one hard working Hombre my Brother!! Stay safe, and keep on keeping on my Man!! Thank you again!!
Way ,way too long. Make two episodes next time.
Dude rolling through that storm in legit boss mode.
I have no problem waiting 21/2 months for these videos. They are worth the wait.
Growing up in Cocoa Beach, I always wanted to take this trip and also go from the headwaters of the Saint John’s to Jacksonville. But now I am a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. You never know what may happen and it’s awesome to see someone following their dreams! Super cool man and a great edit.
Grew up in Merritt Island.
Wow dude I am so sorry man. I worry about my health all the time in my late 60s sorry to hear that God Bless you man
I'm sorry for your situation. How did this happen?? Not being nosey but.......
Epic journey mate. Thanks for bringing us along. Love watching your ventures.
What a great adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Great to see you back and the adventure looked great!
Looking forward to part 2 Gus!!
Thanks for taking the time to chronicle your escapades!
That was a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Welcome back Gus! I love watching your adventures and boat repair knowledge! keep the videos coming! Cant wait to see the rest of the trip.
That to me would be the ultimate vacation I've never really been on vacation except for when I was young with my parents. Just seeing this video It's extremely satisfying you have no idea.
Thanks for letting us be a part of your journey. I really like riding along and seeing all of these amazing places. You are an amazing young man. Keep being you. Looking forward to more amazing videos. If it were not for you and your channel, I would never be able to see these amazing places. Thanks again, stay safe.
Gus, you NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER have to apoligize for not posting videos. Everyone should recognize that this youtube thing is NOT your #1 priority not your job --- you're dong it because you like to and it's fun to see your projects. Glad to see you made it to maine safely --- as always, thank you for sharing your journey and taking us along with you for the ride!
That zero gravity segment was so awesome. Best demonstration of what you were talking about.
So so glad to see that you’re back on. Don’t keep us hangin so long. Love your videos, they’re awesome.
You are truly a legend and inspiration brother, always look forward to your videos and look forward to seeing the improvements you’re going to make to the boat.
Mika's anti grav sesh was an awesome demonstration of the sea state. That boat is a tank! Great content as usual Gus, the time-lapse segments brilliant. Looking forward to part 2 ❤
The bad weather proved one thing, the fuel is clean. 👍👍
Great video showing the capabilities of a Hatteras even a beat down hurricane special. Loved it!
What a great video! I lived on a wood 40' Monk trawler in Seattle, San Diego and San Francisco when I was in the Navy. I got transferred from San Diego to San Francisco so I took her up with my father and grandfather. Your experiences remind me of the thrills and anxieties, especially running at night. That was 30 years ago and I really enjoyed seeing this. I know it's tough to find moorage in Florida but I'll be eager to see what it looks like in Maine. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for your service Peter!
Great to get your video today. I missed your adventures. And this is a great update. Happy you’re doing well and hope your going to keep taking us along with you. I’m a live aboard currently on the St. John’s river.
You are so hard working and this is how you got your boat up and running. I look forward to part two keep up the good work awesome.
You guys put a smile on my face and a lot of hope for the future. I’m 78 and grew up working the Chester A Crosby boat building and storage company on the Cape every summer. Wonderful video
Awesome vid mate! Just love that Hatteras. The old school build quality is world renown. Bloody jealous much! Thanks for your work in getting these vids out.
Hi Gus, I'm glad your well. I was thinking the other day that I'd not seen any videos.
Then I remembered that you were taking that trip! So I'm glad that everything went well, as I was thinking that you may have been caught up in a tropical storm.
I'm glad that wasn't so!
I can't wait for the next installment! 😍
Gus,
You bought an absolute beauty of a boat.
When I was a teen,
my neighbor owned a Hatteras sport fisher that I used to care for.
I loved going fishing offshore of the Hudson canyon off LI NY.
Great times, great memories.
I love your channel!🙏🏼👍⚓⚓⚓🛥
God bless. 🙏🏼💝
Badass. You know you're salty when you bust out the 6 on/6 off watches. Steaming 24/7 in the open ocean is the real deal, reminds me of my last sea tour. Folks who haven't done it wont understand.
You should look into a dual racor rig for each engine. That way you can run off one while you clean out the other and you never have to worry about fuel starvation at 0200 in 20kts 😅
Love this channel ❤
I think people are strange when they like someone because they remind you you doing something…
@tylermarier2034 I think you're strange for posting such a bizarre comment.
Glad to see you again. Stay safe.
Good to see you back. Keep them coming. 😊
As a suggestion those Perspex covers over your fly bridge gauges ( which are crazed) replace it with 6 mm laminate glass, it’s super cheap and lasts forever. I replaced all my Perspex windows on my yacht with slightly tinted laminate 6mm. Best thing I ever did.
Very proud to say your '68 Hatteras was built in my home town of New Bern, North Carolina. I fondly remember watching boats like your going down the Neuse River on ther shakedowns.
Good to see you back!
You should try Rain-X on your windows to sheet the water and better visibility.
Really enjoy your travels and content of your improvements.
What a great adventure, I really enjoy your videos.
More young people should go make this kind of stuff happen !! Where there’s a will there’s a way every time. You are awesome
Yeah well I have a job and responsibilities you know..adult stuff.
I wish I had the money to just buy a yacht and cruise hahaha
Your boat can take a lot more than that. It is a Hatteras. When you can no longer sea the wave tops from the cockpit, then you will know how seaworthy that boat is. Now whether or not you can take it is a different story.
I like your video's !! I spent my youth on the water (with my parents, bargemen on the Rhine in the Netherlands) and I love it !! You got balls hahaha. Life your live as you like !! Stay alive😊 greetings Netherlands 👊
I can’t tell you how much I loved your trip!! I have a 1965 50’ Hatteras that I ran from Annapolis and Cape May to ithaca new York and back every year for 20 years. You should be very very proud of yourself, Captain!

ADVENTURE
Excellent content dude! I'm so looking forward to part 2.
Btw your yacht looks incredible for the age and she performed like a beast.
I'm glad your back Gus. Knew you were working away and taking lots of videos for us here. No worries if it takes some time to get these cut together and posted. I can't wait to watch this adventure, but I'm taking a minute to post a comment first to help get the video out to more people. Cheers
...you're....
Your good bud. Thanks for the massive update.
Have been loving your content Gus. Was just in Portland for the last 3 days and was looking for the boat!! Looking forward to part II
Thank you for a video that was informative without a bunch of bullshit, on the TH-cam shows!!!
You share very good content, and have taught me a lot over the years.
I just can’t deal with the hate !
Hey Mister :) Nice tunes. Thanks for sharing. I miss this so much. I had a boat in shoreline CA and used it often. I miss those overcast grey dark green overtoned cloud mild sea days cruising with the dolphins, the engines synked, the sound of the water making way for the bow 20kts and screeming at the top of my lungs just me and God. My son and I did alot of coastal trips and had our share of ...... advetures...12 kts in the water 3 kts over ground dishes flying deck leaving your feet. surfing unintetionally down a rearward swell rolling the boat over one screw out of the water type of stuff. (sigh) It happens out there however when I saw the look on my daughters face when she saw a baby dolphin playining with her mom following us in the wake while the bull males protected them....priceless. It is those things that gets you hooked and you feel as though you will ever be without it? I hope not and wish you many days with your lover the sea. Best regards to you in all your endeavors, Thomas
Glad you are back! Picked up a patient up in Maine many years ago and flew them to Ohio. Landed at a old Navy base that have been turned over to the general public. The land scape was GREAT ! Glad you're ok and back.
What a great Experience thanks for sharing bro
What a great video. Good job young man.
Glad to see you Gus! We've been wondering when we'd see you again!
Thank you for taking us along on your journey. Living many guys and gals dream.
Excellent video!! What a vessel! ❤
I drew up a salvage plan to recover a 34 ft Silverton off a beach for my boss, got to be in charge of bringing it back from Chincoteague, it was a fun trip and a adventure in a nutshell.
wroñg bhy new boay
Great to see you back - enthused me to catch our channel up too... looking forward to Part 2 very much!
Flippin awesome!!!!!!!!!!
That was an awesome video of the beginning trip to Maine. I could not but roll over in laughter from the good air Mike got in his slumber starboard bunk. LOL That sludge in the filters was scary stuff to find. Yuck lucky you were not changing them mid storm.
Living a dream Brother, living a dream. Enjoy EVERY second of it you can. 30 to 40 years from now youll be glad you did.
I grew up in a Chris-Craft in board and they would leave it running when they would go to the beach just so I would go to sleep of course you know someone always stayed with me but I'd go right to sleep hearing that water splash n up against the dual exhaust,I LOVE THAT RUMBLING SOUND TO THIS DAY! I ALSO GOT TO WHERE (I GREW UP N A SEMI, until 6 & started school) I couldn't sleep @ home because I was so use to hearing that Cummings purring along.
You’re a Friggn Animal man!! Love it!! Rode through that storm like nothing! I’m inspired!! 💯 👊
Nice to see you again, I missed your adventures.❤🛥
It's good to show the inside of the boat and you guys hanging out inside the boat while sailing. The comforts of the boat are points of view we rarely see.
Thats a power boat not a sailboat Sailing is Sailing .. motoring is motoring
@@maddhatterbatty8219 ...the term "sail" is generic and transitive when used as a verb. It is used by many to refer basic travel by water. Not necessarily by boat with an actual sail. Remember, the SS Minnow set "sail" that day for a 3 hour tour.
What an adventure!
Yes!!!!! Missed you bro! Glad you're okay and back on the water!
Hey glad your back......
What an adventure. Love to see a 55yr old gal being cared for and still cruising the depths.
Great job on the video work as well.
This video made me realize I much I miss being out in the ocean.
Thanks for posting! You are NOT a POS at all. Those who don't get that you are busy can ef off - LOL. Always enjoy your adventures!
I love your video and your know how and spirit really is inspiring. Keep on going kid.
Good job, glad to see you back
I just finished going from Fort Lauderdale to Maine on a 48-foot Tyanna
sailboat. It took us over 10 days.
48 foot picnik boat now hybrude

Loved it, thanks!
It was a pleasure watching doing what I always dream of doing, sailing the lovely ocean. Wish u luck and blessings on all your adventures and thanks for sharing.
Awesome documentary / adventure. Thanks for doing these vids. Liked and subscribed . Cheers
Arh Gus Who thats right the young fella mucking about with the Hatters and gets his ambitions mixed up with his capabilities. Well we all do that and Gus your the winner. Love your content it is worth the wait. You've got balls and will have a go at anything. Looking forward to part 2 of the trip. From your top fan down under. Keep up the good work.
Good to have you back …
I love the smile from ear to ear every time he starts up his twin diesels. 🤘🏻
Just finished watching your trip from Miami to Moorehead City, NC. What a trip it was during the 20+ knot winds... Wild.! If you would, let us see your chart plotter up close for just a few seconds so we can see you speed over water and dept of water. I'm a sailor and on a good day can do 7-8 knots.... Look forward to your next video on your trip to Portland Maine. Let us know how to avoid the dreaded diesel fuel algae slime... Thanks!
20knots is barely anything mate professional fisherman work out in that weather all the time.
@23:20 you got soooo lucky dude! That could have damaged the engine leaving you with one in that mess! Glad you made it to dock safely! Sweet video man, love the series
I’ll need to get my popcorn out and settle in for the night when watching this one! Glad you’re ok Gus! I was beginning to get worried!
Glad to see you back ! Miss u bro ! Epicc video
MOST AWESOME VIDEO! I wish other channels would do these types of videos. 100 Thumbs up dude... OWNAGE!
One thing I have never done by myself, living the dream so awesome your doing it!
Hi
Just want to say i absolutely loved this video. Just going to watch part 2. Can’t wait to see more content like this. Take care and tight lines from Scotland 🏴.
Welcome back!
You do some amazing stuff. Wish you the best on the adventures that await you
Love that sticker on the big chrome tool box!
You should wear life jacket when up deck, running offshore like you're doing.
If you fall you die either way in rough water
Awesome adventure
This guys vibes are at an all time high 🤙🏼 Subscribed!!!
Dude I just checked your channel this morning to see if you’d posted anything since I last checked in. So hyped to see what you been up to!
Worth the wait.
