Really sweet how Kotone was able to help Kaede gain custody of Misato after her mother Nagisa neglected her. It was really sweet that Kaede and Kotone got married and Kotone became Misato's mom. And even if they're not related, Kaede, Misato, and Kotone are still family. Family doesn't always mean blood, and they are a wonderful family.
Thank god It didn't turn into a father daughter romance.
Thankfully, she understood that she is the daughter in the household, she is his Successor, not his Partner.
I was worried about that too, but in the end things worked out in a normal way.
It's nice that Kotone was able to help Kaede get full custody of Misato from a horrible mother Nagisa after finding out that she was neglecting her, despite her not being blood related to her, he still a better parent than her and so is kotone as well 😊 it's sweet that they got married.🥰

I was starting to worry about that too, for a moment. But after seeing the whole thing, I don't think she was trying that, but just acting on her abandonment issues, even so many years later.

@@ronneemazukin Would not have been an "Alabama" story because they aren't blood related but it would have been awkward since he raised her since she was a very young child. I don't have issues with stories where non blood related kids and step parents ending up together as long as 1. They meet later in life not when one is a child. and most importantly 2. They don't get physical until both are legal adults.
@@eustace2c2 it would feel like an Alabama story as I believe he legally made himself her foster dad or legal guardian. Other stories try to use technicality to try and sell it. In any case the dad was given a love interest outside of her, which ruined her chanced, good on her for embracing and being satisfied with just being a beloved daughter.

If u want to know why Nagisa's hair is short and why she's begging Misato and Kaede for help: the answer is quite simple, it turns out that her new husband was very abusive towards her and having a affair with another woman, then when Nagisa found out that her new husband's true nature and debt, she left him after he told her that he doesn't need her anymore, she tries to go to her parents for help but they turn their backs on her after they found out about her affair and they cut ties with her. And that's when it ends up here.
Don't know why she would discover his true nature now. She should've known by now that he's a scum just like her, they were having affair, and neglecting their biological child. She was probably st*pid and blind of love to see the reality.

Sweet story. Glad her dad got her away from her mom. Who knows what dark road her mother could have pushed her down. Family is not always about blood. It includes genuine caring and love and nurturing (to name a few). That's what Kaede and Kotone one did for Misato.

I life in germany and the court here is so stupid in so many ways. Heard a similar story from a collegue.
In this his ex was useless angit the kid and destroyed his work to. The court was so useless in this time and he was blood-related and had a lawyer.
Great it worked out from all of them. Thought at first that the girl marry her father later or protector.
Here is the aftermath of the story.
Misato totally met the person that she considers as cooler than her dad when she was a child, and she ended up being the queen bee/Madonna of her high/upper secondary school. She also proposed to him, and his name is Riku, and they became a couple in their freshman year of high/upper secondary school. She formally introduced the boy that she played with often as a child to Kotone and Kaede. Meanwhile, Kotone and Kaede made a bit of a surprise to Misato and Riku, and that means that Misato is going to have a little sister in Reiko. Two years later, Misato and Riku married, and she brought all of the grade years of childhood friends to the wedding, and, one year after that, Misato and Riku have a daughter in Mariko. Now, as for Nagisa, she found the biological father of Misato in Waru, and, well, things went sideways, and their grim fates were plastered all over all forms of media, so she literally will never be in the lives of Kaede, Kotone, Misato, Riku, Reiko, and Mariko ever again.

I didn't like this one because of the cheating, and worst of all, the mom pretended the kid was the mc's, which pisses me off the most. Becuase i would only like to have a blood related kid and no adoptions because I wouldn't be able to feel like they are my kid.
Agree about the mother. But The daughter I would personally have to disagree with you there. It would hurt me a lot, but if I raised a child even if only for a year I would definitely feel like that's my daughter even with no blood relation. I would also accept her if she came to MY doorstep seeking MY help because her mother is very abusive towards her. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing I sent my non blood daughter back to her abusive mother.

That's part of the reason I don't want adopted kids, though, because I don't want them to feel like that when I have my blood related ones
I respect that you want your own kids, but if I'm in a situation where a child needs a loving home and a protective parental figure and I'm able to provide that I wouldn't hesitate to take in that child even if they're not mine.
