@@YesItsReallyKeith still unless they took off from really close you can see that from miles away... especially at night....especially while its flashing. unless they just took off, its very much the pilots fault for not paying attention and whoever failed to alert him of being aware of a tower without proper lights in the area.

@@jamsng The tower isn't exactly new. The light at the very top was still functional. The tower is clearly marked on the charts. The weather was good, the pilot should have been able to correlate his location above the ground with the chart. There was a notice published for pilots warning of the reduced lighting. Under these circumstances, there is no excuse for the pilot getting within 1000 feet of that tower at night.
Apparently people didn't watch the video to the end before commenting. It clearly stated the lights on the tower were not working properly. I wonder how many of them can fly a plane, see one flashing red light and avoid a tower. 🙄
so pilots were warned and this still happened andof all the places that heli could have gone and does the pilot not have eyes and why the hell is a heli flying low at nighttime anyway. hard to find sympathy for this one
People said the light was broken. You can see it 0:01 blinking. You also can see it blinking at the end of the video. 😢. We have a tower near our house, and it blinks like that. IMO, though, I believe they should remain a solid color and not blink. Nonetheless, this is tragic and my ❤ goes out to their loved ones.

Blinking is probably better. If it's solid you might mistake it for a star or far off street light and not realize it's closer to you than you actually think.
The tower has a light... that is all it needs is one. It wasn't the tower or the station that owns it fault it was the helicopter pilot's fault. You aren't a better person because you side with the family and blame the corporation. smh
I'm confused. The video shows a light flashing at the very top of the tower before the craft crashed into it. Did I see something incorrectly? Maybe only one light was working on the tower and not those up and down the structure.
This is so sad😢. RIP to all of the victims of this unfortunate event and my condolences to the victims families. Hopefully they figure out what went wrong soon.
This immediately reminded me of Kobe and Gigi even tho their situation was slightly different. Rip to those who died in this helicopter and the other one.
The lights going out got reported over a WEEK earlier?!?!? And nobody thought it urgent to change the light???? My condolences to the families of the deceased :(
Well, there was a light flashing on the top of the tower however, when you’re level with the tower and 1000 feet above the ground house lights and street lights blend in with the tower light
You can clearly see the radio light blinking in the video which mean that the light was fixed prior to this accident. The pilot is 100% at fault and is responsible for the crash.
air traffic control is already blaming the tower. but we all seen the light flashing. but it was air traffic control that told the pilot to fly that low. now why he thought he could fly under the light is beyond anyone.
That really insane What’s really insane is why they didn’t see the blinking light on that big ass tower or he flew to low to even notice that light surely they should have a spotlight on those helicopters or a terrain warning which should have tracked jt Hey maybe it did but the pilot didn’t Listen Also with helicopters you always flight them high above cities With tall Structures in the way you never want to fly Low

A towering structure without lights, no wonder crash happened. This is completely unacceptable to see such avoidable tragedy.
It did have a blinking light. 0:02. You can see it right before the helicopter hits the tower.
I think you need glasses
if you look it clearly does have a light just a second before the impact go frame by frame its just above where the heli hits it.

The light on the tower is flashing in the video
was that chopper pilot not paying attention? Tower's becon was on and you could see it clearly on in the video. They flew right into it!
