Hamuwe Dineka "හමුවේ දිනෙක" is a recognized Sinhala Catholic Hymn among Catholics and Christians alike in Sri Lanka which gained entry into all hearts of Sri Lankans surpassing all religious and cultural boundaries following the unfortunate incident which occurred in 2019.
This was originally composed by my grandfather Late Mr. J D William Perera
from the melody of "In the Sweet by and by" originally composed by Joseph P. Webster with lyrics by S. Fillmore Bennett.

Due to the soul touching nature of this hymn, many individuals and groups have done cover versions for this hymn in good spirits. However, there were a few inaccuracies in the melody as well as in the lyrics in some of those covers. This prompted me to produce an Official music video for "හමුවේ දිනෙක" as his grandson together with our family as a tribute to our grandfather and also to guide everyone with the original lyrics and proper melody.
Thank you everyone who helped us and did cover versions, which motivated us to do an original track with a video. I hope this track and video does justice to my grandfather who will be accompanying us from Heaven, and also help you the viewers to have hope and trust in God's kingdom which Jesus revealed to us to be an everlasting Happy place to all of us.
