I'm sitting with it in my kitchen at the moment. It has transformed the hum of my fridge and the various sounds of the household into a hypnotic and subtly complex ambient soundscape. Tomorrow I'll take it upstairs and connect it to the rest of my gear. Or maybe I'll just stay in the kitchen! In any case, a wonderful instrument that stretches the imagination. I look forward to diving deep into it.
Fantastic device, I have used digital resonator effects before but this is next level! ordered and awaiting to arrive next week, can't wait to start experimenting and recording with it, keep up the great work!
Bought one recently, and am enjoying it very much. The Blippoo firmware, with Blippoo Control template from TouchOSC, is also really wonderful. Looking forward to future alternative firmwares, for this wonderful open source platform. My biggest wish, is for MIDI over USB, and MIDI over Bluetooth. so we can make easier connections to our iPads/iPhones, and other Bluetooth enabled MIDI controllers. Best wishes for your continued success, and fun with sound 🎶🌎☮❤
Thank you for sharing your experience! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it a lot. However, due to hardware limitations, MIDI over USB or Bluetooth is not possible.
Great vid. Very well done. Very exciting and brilliant product. Thank you so much for bringing such beauty to the world. I ordered one through Perfect Circuit. Wishing you much Good Luck! ❤
Hi. Just to let you know: The Wingie 2 is again available in Europe. I just recieved mine and can't wait to start experimenting with it. Beside the sort of ambient improvisations seen and heard in all the video's here on YouTUbe I expect it to also do very well with synths and samplers. An example: I want to send sounds from my old Roland W30 sampler through the Wingie while feeding it with the same MIDI notes I am playing on the keyboard at the same time. It should then work as an added complex acoustic chamber, like an instruments body. I therefore expect it to also work very well in more conventional musical applications. There are many more idea's where that one came from but will have to actually check it out first to see if everything works as I expect it to. 🙂
Thank you for creating the Wingie2! I finally got one two weeks ago and it is making my electro-acoustic dreams come true. I’m experimenting with it with my trumpet, resonators on resonators - I recently uploaded a sketch with it on my TH-cam page
When he said "Synthesis Minority hohushoungshengpai" i felt dat. I've been and still waiting for China's incursion in the synth market, won't let anyone indifferent as usual
I got this only recently and I really love it. Thanks a lot for creating this. I have one question: Did you ever try out a pipe-type resonator (close pipe with only odd harmonics)? I was wondering whether this could be a way to get Organ or recorder-like sounds by creating excitation via blowing into the microphones. I would be tempted to try this out, but unfortunately the source code is a bit over my head and I do not want to experiment with the firmware for fear of bricking my device... May be a feature for a future version?😊
Thanks for your kind words and suggestions! Have you tried the "cave mode," which allows you to set each resonator individually? You can use the pd patch Wingie Tools to set them more easily. Moreover, I am considering that perhaps by blowing into the microphone in different ways, you will excite different resonators to make it more interesting and expressive.
Hi, and pleased to meet you. Could you please tell me what is the instrument in the bottom of the screen, at the beginning of the video (05mn) ? The one that looks like the O'CTRL or Pressure points, from make noise, you know... It's really important to me, thank you man ✌️
Hi Meng Qi. A fantastic design which fits perfectly in my granular sample + resonator modeling ideal. At the moment the unit is however not in stock at the Euroepan suppliers. Is it still available or will there be a new run?
@@MengQiMusic Dear Meng Qi. Thanks for the quick answer and being so approachable. I'll contact the seller directly. A question which the user guide is not very clear about and of which I also did not see any examples in the video's: If I use a MIDI keyboard and the poly mode, can I then play 3-note chords per channel at once, so without taking time between the individual notes?
@@marcbrasse747 You are welcome! For your question, what do you mean by "taking time between the individual notes"? With either keyboard, internal or external, you can play 3 notes simultaneously. And you'll gain the advantage of playing notes from multiple octaves simultaneously with an external MIDI keyboard. Let me know if you have further questions.
Hi! Currently my online shop is not talking orders for Wingie2. I wonder if it's convenient for you to buy from US or Europe retailers? Here is a list of retailers: www.mengqimusic.com/retailers. Let me know if you have any other questions or require additional assistance.
@@MengQiMusic , thanks for your answer, much appreciated! I'd rather buy it straight from China if at all possible, for anti imperialistic reasons (I'm serious). Do you know of any chinese retaillers willing to ship to Brazil? Thanks you!
You are welcome! I asked the courier company, and they told me that in Brazil, international deliveries must be received in the name of a company than an individual. Please confirm if this is the actual case.
@@MengQiMusic , thank you again! I have ordered as an individual directly from China before, no problems. All needed was my tax ID number. But I'm also able to order as a company, if necessary.
I've done that, it will provide some interesting feedback to play with. The result sounds nice and is a lot of fun. I'd suggest including a limiter in the signal chain and turning up volume slowly.
@@MengQiMusic hi Meng ! Would it be possible to load in microtonal scales? This would bring it to a different layer. Maybe im overlooking an obvious trick. Grtz!

I am still confused on what it is and does..
Audio effects processor. Think guitar pedal but way more in depth.
All his amazing inventions are quickly sold out and hard to get.
Does the wingie 2 can be used with his mics for a live performance or is it to risky because of the potential feedbacks ?
I've done that, it will provide some interesting feedback to play with. The result sounds nice and is a lot of fun. I'd suggest including a limiter in the signal chain and turning up volume slowly.
Do you run eurorack level directly into Wingie?
Wingie requires line-level signals. Please use an output module for conversion.
What is with the distortion? can the signal easily be kept clean or not?
Keep the input volume low for clean sound. In a feedback loop you can use limiters. Personally I find the crunchy overdriven sound pleasing.
@@MengQiMusic the crunchyness is beautiful, i was wondering if it didn't destort to easily if i didn't want to in the signal

got this for field recording. non functional straight out of the box for any input and the manual so opaque as to be useless. shame.
