What did you do about your rope on the second wrap trying to go over the sharp screw down end that attaches to the drum? I don't want the rope slowly cutting away being pressed against that.
@@beachedferrari the metal thing with the hole crimped over the rope has rough sharp edges the bolts to the drum. I just avoided it with the rope on the second wrap.
I install the same winch. but every time i use the winch the check engine light comes on on my jl wrangler.. code is B21E3.. you didnt have the same issue?
@@jivishinvestmentsinc7501 haven't used it a lot but free spool still works well. For a jeep my wife drives and wheels maybe a couple times a year it works great. With that said my rig stills has the old trusty m8000
@@beachedferrari Damn. I'm already thinking of buy the new gen x20... they look simular to the xrc gen3. Might have to wait it out.. I had an old warn m8k. It free spools nicely.
Smittybilt winches / Great BUT / IF they break there are NO Parts. I was told today that the solenoid i need, is in on a 60-90 day back order and not taking any more orders for the part. WHAT! Yea 30' of cable on the ground and NO parts. Fortunatly after tearing the front off my Truck to get to the winch solenoids, Yes you can override the solenoinds on the back side of the solenoid, by pushing in the rod. Been nice if Smittybilt shared this info with me. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obouisly there going out of business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking for a new winch................
THANK YOU! Just had one installed on my Jeep and you helped me tremendously.
Great video continue making videos like this👍🏽🙂🇺🇸
Thank you for this!
did not see you cover the blue and white wires for the top led light in the logo.
Great video. It looks like the line is braided through the hook, is that true? So if we want to put a factor 55 on, we have to cut that junk off?
Correct. A grinder with a cut off wheel makes quick work of removing it though.

Never had an issue. Most have a Allen bolt that is smooth. You can also put a chaff guard over it

I did not, even with heavy winching.
Which front bumper is this? How much clearance do you have between the wires and the grill?
An Amazon special. I believe EAG. Plenty of clearance, at least .75"
Can you tell me what light bar and mount you used here? Thanks.
It's a basic Amazon bar. I believe the mount was Smittybilt as well
@@beachedferrari would u still recommend this after a year? is the free spooling difficuly?

Was It hard to freespool?
Didn't free spool as nice as my broken in warn m8000 on my other jeep. At times you have to power out even while free spooling

I haven't looked at the new one yet. My advice, if you plan to use it go Warn. If it is just incase, then the Smitty should work.
@@beachedferrari might just pay more for a warn vr evo 10s... guess even a Chinese warn is still better than a Chinese smitty
How did you hook up the logo light?
If I recall correctly it's the blue wires coming off the top of the unit. Just hooked them into out of the factory aux switches
Can be use wireless?
I do not think so
