If proud means that we have to build a wall to separate families and people, then I'm not. America was great because you had freedom and building a wall seems like a cage for me. Also history has taught us a lot about walls and consequences of it.
We are people and I respect your opinion, but the world is bigger than that. Anyday I'll take you to mexico to meet some nice people and fish great places my friend.
Leonardo Acha respectfully you should really do more studying on the subject. The wall is not to separate it’s to protect. Yes read history walls have been and are used around the world. Properly guarded and maintained they work. And finally if your concerns are about separating people maybe they should respect the laws and not come here illegally to start with. Read up on what Mexico does to people who go there illegally. You need to educate yourself instead of watching what mainstream media keeps telling you to believe. No one is saying Mexico is all bad people except those who keep twisting things to fit their agenda.
It would be nice to see the parabolic bend between the 7'.0 and the 7' 6" rods.
And you said you have a Tiger rod too, throw that in there too!
See how they bend with different weight attached to them as they are in the rod holders.
sounds like something I personally have no time to do. Check ifish channel he did something like that years ago. With Ugly Stiks

In regards to shipping. I've ordered over 20 rods of the ugly stik catfish special. And with about half of those they came damaged either through shipping or because quality control was not catching it before they left the factory. They would arrive with chips in the finish, excessive glue everywhere, the rod butt on the rods would be practically falling off, and the line guides would be bent. Now I purchased them through Bass pro shops who claimed that they received them directly from the factory. They said that they don't open them or inspect them upon receiving and they just they just sit on the shelf until they get an order to fill. Well so much we're trying to blame ugly stick or pure fishing for this. Because when the rods were packed in their own boxes to be shipped FedEx they were just throwing them in the box without any packing material of any kind. No wonder they got damaged. Once in a while I would get one depending on which location they shipped it from where they would actually put the plastic sleeving over both rod half's and would cover the ends with foam padding.
I just covered that they are the worst for how they ship their rods out. Yet they wanted pure fishing or ugly stik to be the scapegoat. Once I reach the point of 27 rods purchased from them they called me and asked me not to buy from them online anymore. They suggested I should go in person and look at them in the store. Okay that sounds great. Except we only have one Bass pro shop in my area and they're not going to carry no more than maybe one or two of the rods I was looking at at any given time. So rather than take responsibility for how they send their rods out and correct the problem their solution was go buy one in person and please stop buying online. I have had multiple conversations with their customer service that handles the online purchasing and to tell them the kind of discoveries I've come across. Basically if some guy that works for them is just throwing them in a box without any packing material for protection just says this person really hates their job and they're supposed to be a really crappy company to work for if they're going to be that way with how they treat their employees as well as how they ship out their product. I will never ever buy anything from Bass pro shops online or in person ever again. They can go screw themselves!

I have a 7' ML paired with a silver-max. I want to put that reel on the MH and put a pro-max on the ML, to match my gear ratios and techniques.
Thank you, Capt. Dave. You answered a question I've been meaning to ask you for a while now... Are the 7ft ML Striper Rods as thick as the Catfish rods down near the handle? I've used my 7ft Ugly Stik Catfish rod with an Abu Garcia 6500 C for years now, and have always wondered if the Striper rods were a little less bulky in the handle section. I'm off to order a few now. Thanks again!
I have them on my Amazon "tools of the trade page" Jus a FYI.
I have done some research on the Striper rods and the GX2 rods.
They are made out of the same material as well as the guides and for the most part the only difference is the color and the gimble on the bottom.
Of course different styles and choices.
I think you dont like or care for GX2 rods or at least you dont have any but I have several as well as two 8 foot catfish rods.
One a 9 foot medium action rod with a Pfleuger president 40 spinning reel I caught a 21 inch Redfish on last weekend and it was a blast bringing it in for sure.
A friend caught a 30 some odd inch one on one of my 7 foot medium heavy GX2 rods same kind of reel.
He had never used a spinning reel in his life all he had ever used was a spin casting reel.
He had a blast and is a gulf war vet we took fishing with us two old coots.
All fresh water fishing out of a boat south of San Antonio.
Well any way what ever kind of rod fishing is great fun and you make fantastic videos even though you are an old grouch.

You're correct I don't like the GX2's.....It's a way for them to make them cheaper. That's how I see it. And they don't feel (action wise) to these Stripers. The day they don't make these Stripers, Catfish, or Toger lite Jigging rods anymore I'll find one's just like them and move on.........Opps don't have too. I have at least 70+. The whole freshwater world and Saltwater world are different as the Gulf versus the Atlantic. Old grouch?? Not really...just ain't goofing around like a teenager. We have so much fun on my boat it should be illegal.
Been thinking about grabbing the 7' for a bass/inshore bank fishing rod. Still trying to figure out the best casting tell to pair with her to throw from the bank. Might just throw a curado on it. I'm going to the blog!!!! ☮️ out 😎
Curado is good. Lowpro's a bit high maintenance. But not too bad. Good value is a Daiwa Lexa. good deals on Ebay,
Try looking into the Walleye ugly stiks out there.. I think that they’re similar to the ugly stik stripers but idk ..(NOT ASKING YOU TO REVIEW THEM) Just thought maybe youd like

Capt Daves Sportfishing Charters both catfish and stripers. Its funny, they work for catfish, even big, but not so good for carp. I tried them several times and doesnt work. Carp always run to snags and tangle with other lines. I need a little more control with the rod, to steer them left or right. After all the flex, i dont have much rod left for steering. Catfish is kind of dumb and only pulls straight and deep, no need for steering.
YOU oughta try a bull Redfish on a float-rig, with a 20 mono leader, and a tiny #4 mustad hook, along our mile long granite boulder jetty rocks covered in barnacles, some day.....''winter vacation?'' You'll never wanna carp fish ever again!
Capt Daves Sportfishing Charters carp fishing is best fishing by far where i live. I cant retire for another 25 years and its unlikely i get to fish saltwater. Its not about the bank or how strong the fish is. Carfish only pulls straight forward. U can fight him with ultralight if u uave good drag. Carp never does that. It immediately goes left or right and if u cant steer them u get a MESS if u fish many rods.. But i will come down there one day, on winter vacation, just dont know when with 2 babies..

I find most of the fibre glass rods under estimate the lure weight and Max line weight but carbon rods do not at all, if you overload a carbon rod it's all over, my 12 ft surf rod says something like max 3 ounces but it doesn't even cast well with 3 ounces I cast out 6 ounces with a whole herring which is probably going to make it 10 ounces total and it's still decent.
But for my carbon 12 ft it says max 4 ounces and I wouldn't push past that at all.

OF COURSE THEY'RE ''UGLY TUFF'', STAINLESS STEEL GUIDES. NEVER HAD A GUIDE THAT DIDN'T.
Not so with the GX2's my rods have the tip guide cut by the end of the third season. I replace it with a ceramic tip. My favorite channel cat rod had the tip cut by 20 pound braid by the third season I replaced the tip guide but by the fifth year other guides were cut. I expected a rod to last longer than that.
