I can remember as a kid, when my parents would take my two sisters, brother and I out for winter picnics. Usually involved sledding or ice-skating and then hot chocolate around a campfire. I'm so glad I signed up a to your channel a few weeks ago. You do bring back memories from when I was 50years younger. One day in December it snowed and the wind blew a snow drift upon the school house. Well they canceled school,but the funny thing is just about all the kids in this small Kansas town was on top of the school with their Sleds. Campfire beans , and weenies ; served up mit a cornbread muffin...Whaaat? Talk about good! (Cornbread goes good with Chili (carne, or vegetarian no matter, ) with lot's of hot sauce too! ) Comfort food is Yummy! Snowy ice cream in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather? .After hot vittles, & hot coffee? Yeah sure , why not? (Can't go wrong with sugar, vanilla, eggs, ....and...snow.....and chocolate!) Yeah good! P.s. Three things: When Mary Oliver uses poetic license to tell of our outdoor adventures ; you can picture the sparrow lighting on the ducks back, the gull scratching his belly as he passes overhead, and she makes it easy to see the world from the viewpoint of a beetle. It all shows what a great writer she really was, cool man. You're so cute Girl in the Woods, haha, you really are .And....drum ..roll please..last , but not least: Long live DA WOOF! Lol.

The gourmet "girl in the woods" with special bean sauce and the wieners I could smell the aroma, and to top it all ice cream in the forest, you can't beat this. And the beautiful sound of day 12 the snow was absolutely lovely. You have such a faithful companion and she adores her master the snow resting on her velvety back is so soft looking. I'd love to say me and my daughter will try that at the weekend, but . . . . . . it would require an 8 hour drive and a small hike up a mountain somewhere in the highlands. cos alas the snow has gone, and it doesn't look like its returning this year, at least not in the south. But that is officially on the list of daddy/daughter day things to do. Good job. Gary.
Great video the snow ice cream I remember so well as a kid. Man that was a treat. We just dont hardly get the snow to make it anymore, I jealous. Lol. Wish I was out there to.
Lol every time I see Mazy I think of a GF's dog like that. Was named Molly but got called fuzzy butt by me. They have so much fur. Molly had it tough because they also had a cat that refused to be herded. She did not like Texas Summer also. Helped shave her one summer so she could go outside more often she also had a small wading pool to make it more bearable.

I make beans and wieners occasionally but first saute some onions, celery, garlic, and whatever other veggies you want in it... delicious!
