- At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on November 3, 2023, Chaka Khan performed I Feel For You (with Common rap), Ain't Nobody (1:26) Sweet Thing (with H.E.R. on guitar and vocals) (3:00), and I'm Every Woman (with Sia and her enormous bizarre wig) (5:17). Chaka Khan's Rock Hall performances were live at the Barclays Center in New York.
I dont care what ppl said, despites all of that, she sings better at her age that all those pop stars at their 20!

People need to understand that Chaka is 70 years old. Also she's always been a very nervous performer. She is looking amazing and has got up there on the stage, probably terrified and got into her groove very well, with a little help from her friends. But don't forget that under the wigs and sequins this is an old lady. Give her some allowances.

you must be very young! 70 is NOT old. but yes, she does look good, and she doesn't sound bad. doesn't sound as strong as she did years ago, but that's an individual thing and not an age thing. e.g. Tom Jones is sounding more powerful than he ever did. And he is 80+

Exactly, I am impressed that can still sing given her being a smoker of many years, her problems with subtance abuse and most importantly her laziness.

Love Chaka, but it's clear that she's under the influence during this performance. Saw her @ Cap Jazz Fest a few yrs ago & she was high & terrible. Glad she received this honor, but she's probably still using. Prayers up for my sistah. 🙏🏽
God bless her. She's had some struggles. I live in L.A. and drove past a a center for battered women that she and Halle Berry funded a couple decades ago. She's done alot of good.
I'm guessing most of her performances have had that element. Check out her recent NPR Tiny Desk concert. Pretty lucid there and it was pretty cool.

I think chaka is drinking or on something. She was impaired on her versus battle with Stephanie mills..She looked great but you cant get impaired and try to perform. It shows but we love this legend. Someone gotta stop whatever she is doing especially be4 performing i know she can still sang .But being impaired makes you 4get and look bad.

Glad that Chaka was finally inducted. Ive been a fan of hers since I was in 2nd grade I'm currently age 52. It's just a shame that she clearly wasn't clean and sober . Addiction is a terrible disease and she's been in rehabs on an off for decades. My hope is that she can once and for all get clean before she leaves this world.

Chaka is 70! Wow! That is a young old person. Your voice does not waiver if you keep up with it. She still sounds good, but this may have been an off night or she could have been a little sick. She has been singing these songs for over 40 years.

@@rhondamcbath6279 I am a HUGE Chaka devotee, loved her from the beginning. She looks fantastic. She’s 70 ish and she seems okay, maybe the show wasn’t well planned, but the Sia part was weird. Chaka seemed to kind of let Sia and H.E.R do their thing, but HER’s vocal was not great, 🎤 problems, confusion with who sang when, & Chaka missed a cue or two. So what! Fans love to build their stars up to tear them down. Rude. I wasn’t expecting this thin look! And it threw me! Her voice was fine. Like before no, but she certainly didn’t embarrass herself. I’m not sure how I felt about Sia singing with Khan.🤯 But I went immediately an watched Chaka live doing a Jazz festival from 2004 and it restored my senses. I want my Chakaholic pure not diluted with singers that have greater concern for their costume then their chops. Hope this helped you cut through the strange reactions.💯😎

She looks so young and pretty you forget she's in her 70s. It takes a lot on the body and lungs to sing with the power she puts into her songs. Even her screams and shouts go along with the music. She is a pro. Her nerves got to her at first, but she seems to relax singing with other people. A queen diva!!! Hope Mary J was there to see it. I can't think about one without the other.
Was she being inducted? They usually have someone else do the tribute to the inductees, but I'm glad she sung for herself. What a treat for the audience!!!

Finally, someone recognised that as me myself did.
My favorite female singer, but I think she may have taken a sedative or something. I've seen her perform live before - with no slurring and she seemed fully aware- here she seemed inebriated. This reminds me of the Legends sing-off with Stephanie Mills- she performed similarly, so much so that even though she is my favorite female singer- I had to say Stephanie was the best of that night.

Tina Turner is a hard worker and said to Oprah and in her autobio that she used to spend hours recovering from overexhsustion after concerts during her last tour, and Chaka can’t do that because she is simply lazy and smokes..
People age differently, i dunno why you have to compare. And tina didnt even perform in her own induction due to health reasons.
