The breadth of music from hard hitting, fast, through to the brilliant interlude but So Far Away is a damn masterpiece. So much so JK and Jin got him to let them do a live version singing Surans part in concert once. He’s such a quiet intro err a casual BTS fan might overlook him but he’s one of the musical pillars that built BTS and as RM says “he pushes the team from the back”. I feel like his three albums are just a collection of masterpieces that portray Min Yoongi, the human being himself. Actually, this was the first time he revealed his vulnerable side through this mixtape. I heard that after the release of this first mixtape, people around Suga mentioned that he has become much brighter than before. Even we, the army, could feel it through the screen. It seems to be because he was able to vent out emotions that he had never been able to express to anyone and had just piled up in his heart. I really loved all tracks of this album, but I loved his second album even more, and I loved his third album the most! I could feel that he improved not just as an individual but also as a producer and songwriter I wish you get to hear those masterpieces as well!!
There is not an AGUST D or Suga track I do not like. They are all different and everyone’s reaction will be different. He’s an amazing human who not only has social anxiety, he’s a major introvert, he as ocd, depression and I believe he once mentioned adhd. He’s battled his parents rejection of his rap music path ( his mom would even throw his lyrics away) , he set for Seoul by himself to pursue his dream while working part time and training, getting hit by a car and tearing his shoulder, kept that a secret for years because he was afraid of getting kicked out, he knew music was his only option his family didn’t have the funds to pay for university. He didn’t have surgery on his shoulder until 2020 I believe. He’s a strong person and although quiet he has a huge heart and loves his band mates , always saying they are a family. I respect this man greatly. Sometimes he’s misunderstood and tends to stay in the back ground but he prefers the creation of music and is happy that his music is being heard by millions. He produces and writes a lot of BTS songs with rm and just hope. I’m a full on rap line bias with Suga being my ultimate bias
Let's talk about So Far Away ft. SURAN, So Far Away is my canon event, meeting Agust D was my canon event, for the first time I saw myself, and felt seen. You have to understand that as any person growing up I liked rap and hip hop, until I understood english, the lyrics and videos, I depised it, until I listened to The Last, and OMG as a Nu Metal fan I got obsessed with him, at this point, for years I already was listening to BTS music, enjoying it but casual, I enjoyed all kind of music from around the world, BTS was another curiosity, until my younger sister became a fan and talked to me about them like seriously, I would listen to her, she would show me their faces and names but I wasn't invested in telling them apart, even today I am more of listening to music in TH-cam while working so I don't really watch the videos but I know all and every song , because one day she talked to me again and asked me if I could tell them apart, when I couldn't she got mad so I had to "study" them. I'm a nerd and through researcher once I'm invested so I had go through all their released material from before RM joined Big Hit when Iron and Supreme Boi were still part of BTS and Bangtan Hook was released. At this point of my life I left uni, I left work, I was hidding in my room, I would occasionally smoke cigarettes and get drunk, I was avoiding interacting with real people,because I knew that I dissapointed myself and everyone around me, I'd cry thinking that I was a waste of talent and opportunities, I lost so much and so many on my way down to the deep, I didn't know I was depressed or something, I always thought that I was just a dissappointment that couldn't live up to expectations, my own, since I was alreay going years through this, I just didn't care anymore, one day I would feel like why I woke up again, I should throw myself under a car, when I was driving through a bridge I could see myself crushing through the safety sides and passing away but then I'd panic, that I don't want to die and inmediately after that I'd cry thinking that I'm such a failure that couldn't even die. And I listened to So Far Away, I cried so much, just like I cried through your reaction and just I'm crying while writing this, I can't listen to this song, because I can't stand it, it so important to me that my siter who is no longer a super fan got for me a graduation cap full of blue lotuses and in the middle in blue "So Far Away". At the same time I was suggested other songs, 28 and People, 28 depicted my feelings and situations so well, my reactions everything, with all those songs I was ready to face myself with Uhgood by RM from his "Mono" second mixtape, but I still needed a push to get back on track and it came with Tomorrow, a SUGA song for BTS, SUGA's verse said what I felt, RM's verse told me "so what, are you going to keep staying still? tomorrow is going to be today and today yesterday, do something now", and Hobi with everything he is gave me the courage, telling me that I'm too young to just give up on life like that...the final kick was Nevermind by SUGA...So Far Away and Hobi's verse in Tomorrow, helped me to move on from my past, from my selfpity and anger. Fun fact. An important part of my wellbeing through all these was my boyfriend, a super kind and gentle person, but because of life after a Seesaw period, on mutual understanding we broke up one day, in april 2023, that day Agust D dropped People part 2 ft IU, and that second verse killed me, comforted me and let me mourn my romance.
