Jean Michel Cousteau is the first son of Jacques Cousteau. He was a French explorer, oceanographer, naval officer and filmmaker. IIRC he was a diver, and developed one of the first underwater breathing-apparatuses, and started filming very early underwater documentaries with them. Very influential in the modern oceanic community for everything he did. Jean Michel, also absolutely a fantastic explorer and filmmaker in his own right, has a lot of history with and such comparisons drawn towards him and his “papa”. Knowing a bit more behind Jean Michel’s statement makes it hit pretty hard for a little comedy/environmental short film.
