Not many groups would choose this song to cover as it’s insanely hard to get the vocal and overall feel, spot on … you three just nailed it and the vocals were beautiful - thank you ❤
I am a more-than-20 year your senior middle-aged women in U.S., Idaho, and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me hearing your music. I love that you love it too. You are just lovely.
@Lolo If you have given at least second thought to what you wrote, you would have answered to your question. No, I do not buy vinyls just because the album cover. But next to my vinyl collection that album cover looks terribly bad. So whenever I get the chance to obtain it, I always keep abstain myself from buying it. Also, I love so many albums, but that doesn't mean I am going to buy every single album on vinyl. This probably is one of them, and yes, actual big reason is the fact that, even though I adore the music, vinyl looks like power-point draft made by second grader.
wouldn't actually say that the drummer crushed ti. It was nice but the fills were bit sloppy. Not trying to bring her down, she is good but just needed to work on it a little bit more
its all about the voice and the emotion in this. don't need the massive strings and production. always loved your voice. beautifully played thx 4 this. this inspires me to have a bash singing over the orig. track
This cover made me realise how beautiful this song actually is. Whole new appreciation. Like it unlocked a new emotion I didn't have before listening to it
I'm so used to the Pacifica uploads I forgot you also had a solo channel. Interested to hear and see what a different bassist and an added drummer bring to the table in comparison to the vibe and energy you and Martu/Martina have. Thank you for sharing.. in advance again :)

Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for reminding me how incredible this song is. Your vocals were so on the mark that i stopped everything and just got sucked in.
Very well done ladies (one small error near the end where you forgot to alternate between major and minor chord, but that is ... well, minor) Great job and you have a great voice. I like these kind of covers where you really bring it down to the bare essentials, nude as it were.
Bravo to the group for another sensational song! I got locked in to watching and listening to LeLe on drums in the 2nd half, and she was phenomenal! The timing on the fills was beautiful, and so perfectly executed with the feel. You guys are so great! :))
@@DanielBoonelight Actually, I just read a really good analysis of the composition and there are places in the melody where Thom omits the diatonic G# in favor of the G natural, which is the "blue note" of C#minor. There is also a place where the harmony relies on a G#7 chord (implying C# harmonic minor, and the C natural note is in the melody). It also changes in the outro to include Am and C chords, which the melody follows.... So yea, this requires both vocal and ear training chops to really sing faithfully as she does so well.
@@JAYDUBYAH29 all that is true; even so, the tonal center remains, and for instance, if the piece were being written in sheet music on the staff, those things would manifest as accidentals, as opposed to the transcriber taking the time to completely change the key in order to accommodate those non-modal tones. cheers~
@@DanielBoonelight Yea fair enough, technically. In terms of the task for a singer-the vocal range and ability to hear and recreate those accidentals remains complex and impressive, regardless of how the transcriber would write out the sheet music. I've also seen plenty of songs that briefly change keys still written out in the main key signature, with the new melody and/or chords notated as accidentals. That doesn't mean there wasn't, in practical terms, a key change. Analysis of what those accidentals mean in terms of composition, effect and performance is a separate, interpretive topic from how a transcriber would notate it. For the singer or the person, say, creating an improvised solo, knowing that for these bars we are really borrowing chords from this other key, via techniques like secondary dominants, tritone substitution, or chromatic movement-OR that the melody relies on phrases created from the blues scale that include the b5 against a specific chord; all of that is crucial to getting inside the music. I am complimenting this young and talented musician on her ability to HEAR all of that and recreate it in her vocal rendition of the song. It has a high degree of difficulty and sophistication. To me, a few accidentals in the melody is one thing (and even then those accidentals usually work because they flirt with an implied shift in tonality)-but sections in which chords that are not diatonic to the original key are used in a repeated pattern along with a new melody which matches that, is a key change by any other name. For a singer, being able to hear how those melody notes transition between two different scales, and reproduce that faithfully requires a certain level of skill that indicates both talent and discipline. It's one reason perhaps why you don't see a lot of people covering bands like Radiohead. It requires elite chops. We good?
Oh, then listen to Radiohead's version from the basement, live session. Maybe listen to the entire set. On a loop. For a week. Okay, okay... a month. 😂

Beautiful cover. Something I figured out from watching live performances that is never featured in tutorials for the song is the rake by Jonny on the chorus to get the percussive sort of scrape, he’s dragging up with his thumbnail. I don’t play it very well myself so I wanted to share it with someone who could actually turn it into a good cover, as it’s such a distinctive part of the original recording

Great Cover! In Rainbows is my personal favourite Radiohead album, there's not a bad song on it.

Fantastic cover of arguably one of the hardest Radiohead songs.
I’d be willing to bet that Thom Yorke himself would love what you ladies just did. Keep em’ coming!

The vocal performance is great. Takes a lot to nail all those complex melodies and key changes. I bet you have a kind of “photographic ear.” 🙌
there aren't any key changes. the song stays in E or its relative minor, C#m.
