My fear about home automation is that I'll get stuck having to replace a bunch of crap when the crap is no longer supported. Right now I have deadbolts on my doors that have been there for 20 years and will probably last at least another 20 years more. I just ordered a Schlage Encode Plus, which I'm very excited about, but how long until it's no longer supported by all its dependencies like homekit, etc.? I sure hope our landfills can support more crap.
I would like to clarify. You said if you have Apple 4K TV it will become a Hub for this device and you will not need to buy Aqara Hub M3. Did I understand you correctly?
Yes via google home or Alexa, but you can also get an Aqara nfc tag for your android roomies. Or they can just use their finger or personal code.. lots of options
How does the U200 work with mortise locks? Does it just lock/unlock or does it also open the door like turning the handle down? If it just locks then it makes no sense buying one as you will still need the key to open the door from the outside.
Technically no… BUT you do need a homepod/ mini or an Apple TV 4K with HomeKit to set it up (via matter over thread). Then once set up you’ll have homekey available in your wallet. Hope that helps.
So... the U200 can replace your doorbell but doesn't do any doorbell things. Even if it did, the majority of people would not want to mess with a keypad thing and expect it to work as a doorbell.

The type of key is disqualifying, easy to open. EDIT: All in all, what's the difference, whether from the kick or from the skeleton key (wytrych).
While smart locks with the Apple Home Key feature have been available in the US and Canada for quite some time, this seems to be the first smart lock with Apple Home Key available in the UK. While this is good news, I won't be purchasing it because it's extremely unattractive compared to the U50 and U100 models. Additionally, the part attached to the door is excessively large. It's a shame.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely will one die for a righteous man, yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Wooooo, finally Aqara locks are available for Europe officially!
I have to wait for the U300 since I would rather not replace my doors, but Aqara has impressed me with their locks.

That is correct. You don’t need the hub if you have the Apple TV or HomePod
Does it work with android phones lile samsung ?

i had the same question, but there is a "Pull Spring Feature". which turns the key on the inside far enough for you to push the door open
With the U200, do you require an apple matter device for Home key?
Technically no… BUT you do need a homepod/ mini or an Apple TV 4K with HomeKit to set it up (via matter over thread). Then once set up you’ll have homekey available in your wallet. Hope that helps.
I wish the u50 and u100 had thread so bad!!!
Were you compensated by Aqara for this review?
How dare you accuse him!
@@jmatt98not an accusation. A question. Transparency matters in product reviews. Let’s see if he has integrity to disclose. So far: silence.
@@blueskunk9163 this is just his weekend hobby. he has links in the description for convenience sake.
Doubt it, he said the company name wrong everytime he said it. I doubt they'd pay someone who can't even get their name correctly

Need a smart rim lock
Bruh…you keep pronouncing the name wrong. There’s no “U” in the name.

Just pointing out that it's pronounced Aqara, not Aquara. :)
it's because I live in a rental appartement? xD
That U200 looks like a brick
So if someone will steal external block you will not get home. So stupid.
You can still use your physical key
Infomercial
Renting. Some of us can’t afford to buy a house and can’t change our locks
U200 could be added to an existing lock. Same key is used. Just keep the inside knob to put back on when done renting.
lol 😅
How smart lock you out but let thieves go in lol 😅
Most ‘smart’ locks are easily defeated by less than smart criminals.
