The character actually evolved to be Ryan Reynolds before he even thought of becoming the character. He said he read one of the comics cause people were telling him he should play DeadPool. and One of the comics someone asked Deadpool what he looked like under the mask and Deadpool responded. "A Fucked Up Version of Ryan Reynolds". That's when Ryan knew he had to play the character. That line needs to be put in the movies.

Except it’s not. Kevin Feige is smart enough to have him keep his R rating, as long as he’s in a Rated-R movie. If he ends up being in a PG-13 film with other Marvel characters, a lot of people don’t realize how many jokes can bounce around the fact he’s restricted (no blood spewing out of people, can’t use harsh language as often, making fun of the movie business).
