Very helpful! My remaining question was whether, once you've created a kit, can you then use it to replace a standard kit that LPX Drummer is using, with all the smart controls available. Like let's say I want to replace Drummer Songwriter / Pop Songwriter using the Bluebird kit with my DMD Special Kit of toy noises, but keeping all the Simple/Complex and Soft/Loud grid and pattern controls I'm used to Drummer. Is that kit switch possible? Thank you!
You can! In the channel strip (where you'd add your software instrument plugin), change the "Drum Kit" to "Drum Machine Designer" and then load your kit from there. I Hope that helps. Cheers Georges
THANK YOU@@knuckledustermusic I'll give this a try. I want to create a junk shop kit that's comprised of samples from tools, cans, toys etc, but use the great LPS drummer functionality.
When I preview a kick in the Drum Machine Designer, it sounds perfect (like it has optimized presets). But when I try the same kick in my tracks, it sounds dull & lifeless. How can I get the kick to sound like it does in the DMD? Any help is appreciated. Not sure if my question makes sense.
The samples will sound different depending on the velocity of each MIDI note. Check to make sure that they are loud enough. You can do this in the piano roll. I hope that helps and let me know if it doesn't make sense. Cheers Georges

great video. The pattern step sequencer is great to make a beat quickly. Then choose the midi editor to get the field down
Thanks! It certainly is!
