Personally I think G2 need this summer break to fix up, 2x grand finalist just to lose really takes a toll on your emotions especially online (all that hard work for nothing basically) they just need to build their chemistry and work as a team not rely on their individual skills. Until then better luck G2 maybe one day you win your trophy!
I don't know how to feel - G2 clearly need some growing up as a team. There's also something wrong with their chemistry. Saying Aleksi doesn't fit the team makes me feel sad as Finn, but he and Ilya clearly dont have same energy as the Bosnians.
Im surprised you mentioned you like that Niko searches less now. I feel like in the older inferno demos you mentioned how you really liked that style of play because it was something he could do that others could not due to his mechanics. It would be cool to do a comparison between an older banana demo from Niko and a more recent one.
yeah i did definitely like that and he controlled a lot of space with just one player doing it but over time in the games G2 lost niko died first too often and vs awps and utility no matter how good he is, good teams could kill him for free. it is on ancient moreso though
my variation of the "tarik step back" includes spraying while stepping back, still controlling the spray so that when you get accurate again cause of the counter step, you instantly hit. Or you can get lucky and hit while running. Although I didnt get that from tarik, didnt even know he does that.
I think atm G2 are kinda in the Astralis phase, good team with great individual players but they haven't synergised yet. Astralis atm aren't the best but when k0nfig and blame put in a shift followed by g1ave and xyp9x going back to 2018 and activating and when Farlig finally learns to use an AWP then they will be destine for greatness someday. For G2 I think it's a matter of finding their chemistry and not relying on their individual skills look at how well Yekindar is slotting in for Liquid, maybe they need tips from Liquid and Astralis coach/manager to hopefully find that 100% connection. Until then it will keep being upset after upset especially when the whole team are tilting and relying on their all aim no brain skills in an attempt to pull back rounds they can easily win; instead of trying when your 0-8 down take a tac timeout and fill all the gaps make some adjustments then rinse and repeat. I dont think Aleksib is a bad igl but I believe nexa > aleksi because if you see OG now they're doing well all the players need on G2 are freedom and to work together in order to win and close out matches and maps when they're 1-0
how do you feel about FaZe after the Cologne win when you compare them to how you thought about them here? still not as scary? think they showed good form during Cologne? love your vids
On that blind double kill; the first one was godlike, the second one was luck. Could argue that both were lucky since he put himself in a commonly thrown molotov. If they didn't peek/commit, wouldn't he have died without a kill?
NiKo AWP is cursed, but I don't think the low sens helps him awp as much tho, almost all AWPERS that are good nowadays are mid-high sense(800-dpi and above) s1mple, m0nesy, syrson, broky, degster
G2 I think are great, but I feel they were better with the loose calling of nexa with the big brain time outs from Malek. I don't get why they need xxxtqz. He didn't really bring a whole lot imo, G2 are still playing the same CS they did under nexa and Malek anyways.
A little sad watching this after they got knocked out, with most of all the other good teams, because the level of everyone right now is weirdly high, even when faze and navi are armwrestling for the top spot with everyone else behind them. Xyp9x lucky or godlike on inferno vs. c9 when? 26-16 is spinx level of silent stardom. You see him again and again in the killfeed, get impressed with two or three holds and an entry, and suddenly you realise he's higher than BlameF at the end of the match. Usually it isn't *that* exciting but xyp9x! over cloud9!
Here is what I think is the problem for G2 my dear Lau.... I think Aleksi is the main reason G2 can not preform. He is an A tier caller, and very weak individual preformer. I think if u wanna be IGLin in one of top 5 teams u need to either be very good(S+ tier caller) or very good fragger for IGL and good caller(Like A/A+ tier) I think thus far is obvious Aleksi can`t get into neither of the cathegorys. He is not top class IGL, and he is not really good fragger for his position, whatsoever he is even pretty bad. Specially concidering how much space Aleksi consume, and how many times he is the one going for lurkes, and getting free fraggs... His numbers are unforgivable for G2 player, 0.94 rating on AVG, for the team that was basicly 2nd team in the world last season, with an ambition to attack no1. spot, no shot. I think Aleksi is way above his league. Or at least that`s how I see it. I saw many G2 fans agreeing with me on this and calling for "Aleksi`s head" and I think it is the only solution to the problem. U can`t blame it all on NiKo, and him not prforming the way he did in Stocholm(cause those preformances are surley the best ever from one rifler, those are almost impossible to repeat). Yet NiKo is still top10 player this year, and most deffinitly among top 3 riflers, at worst top5... Hunter on the other hand is preforming far better than last year(he might have actually been even better than NiKo this season), and m0NESY is an obvious upgrade, actually he is baiscly an AWPer G2 didn`t have last year .... This squad has so much more firepower, but still manage to pull out failure after failure. There are two options Aleksi is just wayy to overhyped and overrated cause of that one fluke run with Ence, and is not at all that good of an IGL(Like good, but just good, average A tier IGL for some top10-15 team). This is what I belive is the case. Or the other scenario is that his calling style, strats and micromanaging type of organyzing things just does not fit "supertstar team" such as G2. On top of that he is massivley underpreforming and is one of, if not the worst individual player within top10 teams, in terms of numbers, raw mehanics and talent overall. In either case in my oppinion Aleksi is the main thing dragging G2 down. I think he is just not good enough for this lvl, unfortunetley. The problem is kicking Aleksi is not the entire solution since they have to find good replacemant. I feel when Nexa left, they just brought the IGL he repleaced in much lower rated team, that didn`t have much succsses. So I don`t know, I guess he was the only one available, but again they rushed into that desition and team is suffering right now.
