I mean, there's literally no other path to that point. That door is the only entrance to the storehouse from outside. It's still locked. The path that you flew over has no way to get down to the back of the building without flying. So literally the only path to get to where you clicked (unless you unlock the door right in front of you), is down through the sewers.
"What?! I did exactly what you told me to!" But for real I've gotten rather annoyed with the funky path-finding. For instance, in the druid grove vault, there are some boxes with a book on top of one of them. My character chooses to climb on top of the box in order to pick up the book..
Yeah I've seen weird shit like that too. Most recently while in camp I'll try to talk to Wyll and my character goes off to the right of him then back up behind him to talk to him instead of just walking right up to him. I personally think the path finding in the video is actually impressive, but it does have issues with a lot of random objects in the environment
It did! Lol I was like where the hell is everyone going!? I had been to the room before but couldn't remember how I got there so I just clicked and yeah they took a nice stroll through town and then the sewers and some how found their way.
This is ridiculous lol. It's like when I'm group crouching and about to get spotted so I try to turn around, and my character turns and everyone just runs behind me into their view cones and get wrecked lol.
Yeah! Sneaking around as a group just doesn't work well. I've had a lot of issues with people just randomly walking into a line of sight that i clearly did not tell them to go to.
Better yet the time when Karlach was at the top of a ladder, and I clicked the floor below and Karlach believed the best way down would be to just walk off and plummet all the way down. I guess she wasn't wrong, it was most definitely the fastest way down. This was in the goblin camp up in the rafters.
actually that was the quickest path to get to that point since all the other doors leading into the building were locked. Since the Ai doesn't auto jump during its pathfinding, instead of jumping off a ledge around the corner that I used to get in the first place, the game took the quickest path it could find which was going threw the sewer up and out of a prison and back up threw the secret entrance into the building. I was actually pretty impressed after I thought about it lol.
Honestly to get there you need to either open the door or jump to the roof of the warehouse then drop The pathfinding ai in bg3 doesn't calculate any path that uses jumping I hope they add that mechanic in the future
It's not ridiculous because you have to use your ability 'jump' to reach that place from outside. so you can't walk there, It takes you from the right path.
If you pay attention to the video I clicked 'move' ONCE and the whole party took off running on their own climbed down the ladder into the sewer , through the prison and back up the ladders to reach the door. And yes I could have just jumped over there I did it before, I thought it was going to do it again but the game decided to take its own way around
@@IRNINJ4 those moves counts as moving actions i guess. but jumping is whole another action. without someone jumping I never sern other party members jump. if you could click and game automatically jump, there wouldnt be a reason for jump action mostly
@@KXNG_BXNZ Yes, if you jump or go anywhere the party members will do its best to follow you (and to not take damage) but you have to first find the way yourself. A lot of hidden stuff you can get to.
It's the largest part of the game for sure. Every house has something for you to do in it and there's a ton of side quest to be found. It's an awesome place.
My boy was just taking the scenic route... wanted to make sure he was enjoying his afternoon.

@@cannedsquasher5923 that actually sounds pretty funny haha
maybe implementing something like formations would help where you could lock people into a certain walking pattern. Like in rts games@@IRNINJ4
Is the entire game series pathfinding just Fubar? What the actual heck is this?
