@@Steverodriguez825 This is way worse than covid, and that's coming from someone who got it twice. Even while inside an office at work we could smell the smoke and everyone started complaining about headaches and nausea. I'm not even in the worst area I can't imagine how bad it is in New York.

Is this really just smoke in the Air from Canada???? you know that 30 tons of ammonium nitrate fertilizer is still missing after disappearing during a rail trip from Cheyenne to California. On April 12, a railcar carrying the chemical, used both as a fertilizer and an explosive, left on a two week trek to Saltdale, California. Once it arrived, the railcar was empty. The explosions in Beiruit were orange to red.... it was ammonium nitrite. Symptoms of lethal nitrate poisoning include labored breathing, frothing at the mouth, rapid pulse, weakness, diarrhea, frequent urination, incoordination and convulsions. Death may occur in three to four hours. Be careful.

It's still way better than Portland 2020. Our AQI was over 1000, and our sky was so dark that the street lights were on at noon; the sun was about as bright as the full moon. Also, the sky was blood red, not orange.

Apparently, 2020, when all of Oregon went well above 500 AQI, we broke records. As it was previously thought that above 500 AQI was unachievable. Many municipalities broke 1000 AQI.

The sky went dark in New England in May 1780. Forest fires in Canada are believed to have been the cause. There would have been similar conditions back then.

Oh I remember September 9th. I was outside all day in Ukiah enjoying the cool temperature from the sun being blocked out. Crickets were going at 2pm and all the pets thought it was night time
I was in Eureka just north of you. It was definitely an experience I'll never forget. It was so surreal and all day it felt like being on another planet, very strange
And i remember the October 9th 2017 fires. Ash all the way past the bay area easily.

Wildfires have always occurred. This isnt new. The Earth has always changed over time. The Great Fire of 1910 burned over 1 million acres in the Pacific NW. The deadliest wildfire in US history occurred in Peshtigo, WI in the 1800s.
